My father was in New Days care in 2020, they were outstanding, so when I could no longer cover my mother's nursing needs and complex dementia I knew exactly where she would be calling home. I was a bit concerned as the home had a change of ownership since my father was there but there were still familiar
faces. Many employees have worked at New Day for years giving it a "one big family" feel, clearly the staff love working at New Day and looking after the residents there.This shows as all the staff are very caring and compassionate and this has been consistent over the years I have had involvement. I can leave my dear Mum in the comfort of knowing she is in the most capable caring hands of all New Days staff. I hope Bliss Homes appreciate the fact that New Day is so special because of all the amazing employees there, they really do go the extra mile and with some challenging cases to deal with to.If you are looking for a safe and caring environment New Day should be top of your list.

My mother has been in Newday since November 2017. The care that she receives is excellent. The staff are wonderful, to both the residents and relatives.
Activities are provided for the residents. Some events organised are for the relatives to attend, the last one being in August, which was a barbecue.

The best decision i ever made was to ask NewDay to look after my dear Mom. She is looked after so well & my husband & i can tell all the staff really care about her. The food is lovely. Mom was quite thin when she first went there but she has put on some weight which is great. The main thing for me
is that whenever we visit her we can always see she is happy & contented & that means the world & is all we can ask for. The staff are all so friendly & nothing is too much trouble. The best compliment i can give is that whenever we are away or can't visit her for any reason we miss her but we never worry about her cos we know she is in safe loving hands.

My Dad had a terrible experience in a care home which led to a prolonged stay in hospital where he was assessed as requiring a nursing home to best meet his needs.We were worried about this move given our previous experience and that Dad has dementia.
From the first visit the staff were caring and committed
to providing a quality service.All our questions were answered and communication was clear and consistent and Dads transition went smoothly.Dad has settled and they keep us updated about this progress , any changes in his condition and the activities he has partaken.

My mother was discharged from hospital ack to New Day with a palliative care package. She was given privacy but kept under close monitoring during her decline and staff supported me well. Her medical needs were treated so that she was kept comfortable and calm. New Day was the best place for my mother
to end her long and happy life.

Our dad was taken into Newday for end-of-life care in November last year. Within a couple of days, the fabulous team had Dad up and out of bed and eating and drinking. The staff are 'Angels, each and every one of them. We can't thank them enough for the care and support shown not only to Dad but our
family too. Thanks to them we were given an extra 9 months with our precious Dad. It was so comforting knowing Dad was in safe hands. We would have no reservations about recommending Newday Nursing Home to anyone.

When I first came here it was because of a very traumatic experience and I did not want to be in a home of any description. The staff here made me feel very welcome and cared for me in a very dignified manner. They took care of my medical issues accordingly. The food was really good and there was plenty
of choice. Activities are available. I am now really happy here and feel very safe. I would describe it as a "home" within a home. All the staff are respectful to me.

Our neighbour has recently had to go into care, suffering with dementia. Like so many people going through this terrible disease, he is being cared for at a local care home, New Day Nursing Home. The staff there are excellent and they held a special event to introduce the new manager. There was a raffle
and I won first prize - a chocolate hamper. I re-raffled the hamper to raise money for the home and they were so grateful. We couldn’t ask for better staff to look after him, from all of his family and friends, we all want to say a massive thank you.

Job Title: Registered Home Manager

Hi. My name is Anna Whitehouse


I have been a Registered General Nurse for over 20 years. I have a BSc Hons in Health Studies, NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management and Mentorship in Nursing Practice. I have also completed Lead to Succeed and Rise programme with My Home Life England. After having worked in the NHS in various settings, I started work in the Care Sector in 2012.


At New Day, we have a wonderful team of staff, and I am a firm believer that when you have a happy staff team, the positivity spreads to everyone. We receive lots of positive feedback about how caring and friendly the staff are and that the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We focus on getting to know your loved ones to ensure we deliver person-centred care with family and friends’ involvement. Regular consultations with the residents with care planning are essential to ensuring high standards of care and making our residents’ stay here as close to home-to- home as possible. It is always so lovely to hear the laughter in the corridors when staff and the people that we support are interacting with one another. There is strong ethos here to treat people how you would like to be treated yourself, encouraging independence, individual choice and preferences.

Jetinder Kaur, who likes to be known as Ritu, has been part of the team at New Day for over 20 years. Ritu first started here as a Care Assistant has also been a Well-being Coordinator, Nursing Assistant and is now Care Supervisor.


Ritu particularly enjoys caring for those living with Dementia and making each day count. Ritu is passionate about delivering high standards of care, is organised, methodical and has pride in everything that she does.

Geethu loves delivering a variety of activities which can include physical, sensory, mentally stimulating and those that build on hand/eye coordination. Some of her time is spent one to one and just having a chat, reminiscing of life experiences.
