From mum's first day at New Day Nursing Home to today the 1st March 2022, mum has received top care from all the staff. The overall standard is excellent. Mum has always been treated with dignity by both staff and management. I am informed of every detail of mum's care when I am at home and updated
every week. I really do believe that I could not have placed mum in a better environment, it is so comforting to know that mum is receiving the very best care every day. Thank you.

The staff are all very professional and very supportive of my father as well as my mother. They care for all of my mother's care needs making sure she feels happy and safe at all times. The home is excellent at accommodating visits for our family and keep us informed about our mom. We have had a very
difficult year but all the staff are friendly and go out of their way to support us all. My mother now enjoys our visits which the staff help to make as normal as possible. We all feel supported and would like to thank all the staff for the excellent care they continue to give our mother.

This home is the most wonderful home I have been to, having visited a number of them. It is truly a home from home. The staff are wonderful, caring, loving, patient, cheerful, funny, delightful people. The activities coordinator worked so hard and gets Mum off her feet all the time. She is literally
moving all day long.
The building is not glamorous. It is an old victorian building; this is important.
My brother has never lived in a "posh" place. He lived in a small bungalow for 60-years. New Day is a home, warm, welcoming, clean, organised but friendly. I could feel the warm atmosphere from outside - and laughter! And music a buzz.
Staff work hard, they're always smiling. I could not have wanted a better place for my brother. The home was recommended by his social worker. He said, "it's not glamorous, but the care is wonderful". I have been to several other homes - lovely, were facility, efficient but no atmosphere, cold. If that's what people are used to fine, but the building and the ethos need to be appropriate and the staff chose to be empathetic and willing to do anything. I would live at New Day myself. I can't recommend it highly enough.

My husband went into this wonderful nursing home at the beginning of the first Covid lockdown. Although I wasn't allowed to visit him, the staff made every effort to keep me informed with telephone and video calls. I cannot fault the care and love and respect that my husband is receiving, in spite of
the restrictions that had to be put in place due to Covid-19. He is in good hands.

There are no words to describe how grateful our family are to all the staff here for their outstanding care and compassion they showed to our family. They took care of my mother-in-law impeccably. Showing dignity at all times. They made her feel safe and secure. We never had any worries about leaving
her there. They kept us up to date regularly during lockdown. They treated her like family. We are eternally grateful. Thank you to each and every one of you.

NURSING AND SOCIAL CARE: The staff at Newday are all amazing - skilled, caring and understanding - all of them. I include cleaners, cooks, maintenance staff, etc. They are wonderfully led by a terrific management team. We (visitors, residents and staff) are one big, loving family. There seems to be
no request too difficult for the staff to accommodate.
It was a relief to find Newday as my husband had suffered (yes, suffered!) previously in two awful homes over a total of 18 months and I suspect they contributed to further decline in his condition. He has excellent behaviour despite his dementia and immobility. He has been in Newday since January 2019 and suffered not one bedsore or infection from careless hygiene, negligence, etc. Any emerging medical complications are discovered promptly and appropriately treated.
Other homes may be more 'glamorous' but it is the care that counts and I am forever grateful and humbled by your wonderful care. THANK YOU ALL at Newday.

My mother has severe Alzheimer’s/dementia and receives excellent care at Newday. The carers, nurses and support staff are compassionate, committed and professional and the home is clean, bright and welcoming. The staff are also very supportive of our family, as illustrated during the challenging time
of COVID-19 when we have not been able to visit my mother. They have provided regular updates and the opportunity to see her via video calls, which is a huge help.

Cannot praise the staff at New Day enough, my dad needed respite care after a long stay in hospital. He arrived in their care bedridden and unable to feed himself, etc. With the care and dedication of the team and my dad's determination, he is now home, back on his feet! It is truly an amazing transformation
and would not have been possible without the love, care and attention for detail this home has. The whole time my dad was in their care, my mum and I could relax knowing everything was being done to move my dad forward, not just physically but mentally too, because they really do care passionately about what they do and the people they are looking after. If you are considering New Day for your loved one, I know for sure my dad would highly recommend them as would I.

As a family, we cannot express our gratitude to the team at Newday highly enough, for the care offered to my father.
From the cleaner and laundry staff to the care assistants and the RGN’s their whole ethos, their core family values and the genuine care and love offered to both residents and their
relatives/friends was humbling.
The end of life care for my father was so kind and dignified with genuine empathy for us as a family, and we will be forever grateful to these wonderful people.
Anyone who has a loved one placed there is indeed most fortunate.

What attracted me to this care home, way above aesthetics was the interaction I had with service uses when I viewed this home. They were smiling, chatty and had plenty to say about the home, all positive. Everyone was clean, smart and well presented. My soon to be 90-year-old mother is the happiest
and physically comfortable I've seen her. The furniture is well suited to her physical needs, in comparison to the past, she rarely complains of pain. Her bedroom is always clean, fresh and made up. Not once have I encountered unpleasant smells, spills nor mess in this home, in my experience this is rare.

My father has been in Newday Nursing Home for almost five years. He has late-stage dementia.
During his time he has always been very well cared for and looked after. The nurses and carers are very professional and caring.
The home is always very welcoming and exceptionally clean, the food is very
good and the residents always look contented.
I don’t believe my father could have received better care anywhere.

Since April this year, my mother has bee a resident of Newday Nursing Home. She has made vast improvement from a 92-year-old who just slept most of the time to a person who is alert, funny, friendly and walking short distances and joining in with the activities. I can only put this down to the constant
loving, warming, caring staff.

Good quality care. Approachable/friendly staff who greet you happily at all times. Available to answer questions or queries. Incidents that occur involving residents are resolved and acted upon immediately. Events for residents carried out throughout the year i.e. Singing/music etc. Arrangements made

Hi. My name is Anna Whitehouse


I have been a Registered General Nurse for over 20 years. I have a BSc Hons in Health Studies, NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management and Mentorship in Nursing Practice. I have also completed Lead to Succeed and Rise programme with My Home Life England. After having worked in the NHS in various settings, I started work in the Care Sector in 2012.


At New Day, we have a wonderful team of staff, and I am a firm believer that when you have a happy staff team, the positivity spreads to everyone. We receive lots of positive feedback about how caring and friendly the staff are and that the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We focus on getting to know your loved ones to ensure we deliver person-centred care with family and friends’ involvement. Regular consultations with the residents with care planning are essential to ensuring high standards of care and making our residents’ stay here as close to home-to- home as possible. It is always so lovely to hear the laughter in the corridors when staff and the people that we support are interacting with one another. There is strong ethos here to treat people how you would like to be treated yourself, encouraging independence, individual choice and preferences.

Ritu particularly enjoys caring for those living with Dementia and making each day count. Ritu is passionate about delivering high standards of care, is organised, methodical and has pride in everything that she does.
