Located in a quiet cul-de-sac in Handsworth Wood, Robert Harvey House gives care and support for those who require nursing care. Especially equipped for individuals living with dementia, all 46 ensuite spacious bedrooms allow privacy in a calming and caring environment.

The team is motivated by a desire to make a positive impact. They work hard to create a safe, homely environment where every resident is treated with dignity, compassion and respect. BCOP is a charity so all profits are re-invested into the homes.

There are several communal areas including lounges, quiet spaces, a large garden and terrace, laundry and an on-site hair salon. Additionally the home has its own Sensory Street - a replica of vintage 1950s shops which residents, along with their families and friends, can use for reminiscence. Residents can make use of the spa bath, which features mood-lighting and tropical murals, to relax.

Residents can take part in a variety of activities, which are planned according to their interests and hobbies. Residents are supported to have maximum choice about their care and support.

All the staff which includes the Manager, Anthea, and the Admin staff Tia have been very supportive in providing information and advice to myself and also my father. The nursing and care staff are attentive and caring towards my mum's needs and always kind and respectful to my mum and family. The room
my mum is in is very peaceful and calming particularly in view of my mum's terminal illness.
The meals are always healthy, varied and clearly much care is taken to ensure variety in meal choices. There are also additional options if needed. The catering staff again are kind, caring and always helpful, this has greatly helped me whilst visiting my mother and also reassuring to know that my mum, whose appetite is good despite her health, is eating the meals at Robert Harvey House.
The ability to visit during the day has been extremely beneficial to my mum, as visitors including myself can visit during these flexible times.

Our mum was only a resident of Robert Harvey House for just over 24 hours before she passed away. Despite that short period of time we were made to feel part of the Robert Harvey House family as soon as we set foot through the door. All the staff showed immense care and empathy which was not only directed
towards their residents but included all visiting friends and family. This is the second time that we have sent a member of our family to RHH and both times the care has been outstanding.

My mom and I were warmly welcomed during our initial visit to Robert Harvey House. The staff were very informative about the support and care they provide, reassuring me that my mom would be welcomed and would remain safe and well cared for.


They took her needs into consideration, and I am pleased

to say that my mom's first week in Respite Care was a positive experience. She felt included and safe, which brings me great comfort. After our first experience, I'm happy to announce that my mom will be going for regular Respite Care at Robert Harvey House in the coming months.

Our mum was a resident at Robert Harvey House for nearly 9 weeks before she departed us forever. During this period, she was cared for 24/7 by such a dedicated group of people with the utmost respect, dignity, love and care, which goes above and beyond their duty. An equal level of respect was extended
to all the family and visitors any time of day, infectious smiles, made us feel most welcome. Their statement in reception "Our residents do not live in our workspace, we work in their home" are not only mere words on a wall, but a profound living example. Our experience made us feel as if they had adopted our mum, and our mum adopted them as her daughters. On behalf of all family members, I would like to sincerely thank so much all the staff and look upon them as angels in disguise. Superb care of a very high standard. My parents have varied needs and they are given the opportunity to live as fully as they can in a safe and welcoming, homely environment. I have visited on a number of occasions and always found the staff welcoming. The taff always check on the wellbeing of residents whether in their room or in the living room areas. Having spent the last 6-8 months looking for a care home to give my sister and her husband some respite from caring for our parents, we were getting pretty desperate. There is such little provision for couples, and we saw some swanky places where staff were so anxious and over-managed and frankly not
very kind to residents. Robert Harvey House was a godsend. Relaxed, kind and thorough, staff here take professional pride in their work, and residents are respected and looked after socially and psychologically as well as physically. Not only this, but you'll see how imaginatively the residents are cared for; there's a sweet shop with a freezer full of ice cream for residents to help themselves! It was the animals who really swung it as far as our parents were concerned though. Two sweet little goats, and a flock of concerned and sometimes obstreperous parrots engage with everyone on the same gentle and trusting terms. You can see how Robert Harvey House gained its CQC rating for efficacy.

Mum moved to Robert Harvey House for respite care in March 2023 and never wanted to leave again. What a fabulous place! Staff were excellent - from the manager and admin team to the maintenance team, the activities team and most of all the carers. They took such good care of Mum and made her last year
a very special one. Even though her health was declining (at 94 years!) she maintained a great quality of life through the way she was looked after. We never had a single day when we weren't happy to leave her in the care of her extended family at Robert Harvey House - and we were all made to feel like a part of that family too. Thank you.

My Aunt was admitted to Robert Harvey House in November 2018 aged 91. She received excellent care and was nursed back to health following both Pneumonia and COVID. At all times she was treated with respect and dignity. Staff throughout the home spent time with her, they knew her as an individual and
met her needs accordingly thus contributing to her contentment. After 5 plus years her final days were dealt with compassionately. Robert Harvey House is a very well-managed, friendly, welcoming environment which I would recommend without hesitation.

My father moved into the home on 1 December 2023. Sadly he only lived there for 7 weeks. My parents decided that it was the home for him within minutes of arriving to look around. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly from the outset and whenever I visited.
My father was very well looked
after whilst he was there and when he had to be taken to the hospital someone stayed with him until he was admitted to a ward.
I cannot fault the care he received during his stay there or how we were looked after when he died.

I was a resident at Robert Harvey Care Home for respite care from October 23rd to November 14th, suffering from a broken leg. On my arrival, I was warmly greeted by senior staff and carers and swiftly escorted to my room. There I was frequently visited by senior staff who were keen that my every need
was seen to. The nursing staff regularly assessed me and medication was carefully monitored. Equally the caring staff were professional and caring, cheerful and helpful. I was very impressed with the care and dignified treatment the more challenging residents received. The home has a cheerful and peaceful atmosphere with lots of entertainment and activities. I highly recommend this care home.

My father has been in Robert Harvey House Care Home for several months. His room is spacious and clean. He loves it here and is very happy. I can't praise the staff enough, caring, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food is of a high standard and plentiful. Activities are done so everyone can

My stepdad has been in this home since August 2022, he is very happy here and all the staff are so caring. This is an excellent nursing home, kept very clean and pleasant to visit. Relatives are made to feel at home and invited to take part in the wonderful activity days regularly put on for residents with singing, food and drink. The manager encourages a home-from-home feel to Robert Harvey House.
The
palliative care for my father was second to none; he was made to feel as comfortable as possible and was accommodated with requests as much as physically possible, even to the extent of providing a beer when it was the only thing he fancied drinking. When my father died, the manager was very sensitive and informed my brother and me so that we could inform our elderly mother ourselves so she was not on her own when the news was broken. We were still welcomed to the nursing home after the funeral, and our mother was told she could always visit. The staff are amazing, caring and kind. I cannot recommend this nursing home enough.
