Located in a quiet cul-de-sac in Handsworth Wood, Robert Harvey House gives care and support for those who require nursing care. Especially equipped for individuals living with dementia, all 46 ensuite spacious bedrooms allow privacy in a calming and caring environment.

The team is motivated by a desire to make a positive impact. They work hard to create a safe, homely environment where every resident is treated with dignity, compassion and respect. BCOP is a charity so all profits are re-invested into the homes.

There are several communal areas including lounges, quiet spaces, a large garden and terrace, laundry and an on-site hair salon. Additionally the home has its own Sensory Street - a replica of vintage 1950s shops which residents, along with their families and friends, can use for reminiscence. Residents can make use of the spa bath, which features mood-lighting and tropical murals, to relax.

Residents can take part in a variety of activities, which are planned according to their interests and hobbies. Residents are supported to have maximum choice about their care and support.

We found all the staff and management at Robert Harvey House caring, friendly and supportive. My mother, who didn’t fully understand why she needed to be in a nursing home, was always treated with compassion and dignity, and the care staff always made time to talk to us in detail about her needs. For
us, Robert Harvey House was an oasis of care and clarity in a desert of doubt and confusion.

The decision for my mother to become a resident happened the moment I entered the care home. As I was shown around I became even more convinced this was the right place for her. My mum has settled and is now accepting Robert Harvey as her home. Only recently she asked what road does she live on. I cannot
thank the staff enough for helping her to settle and come to terms that she can no longer adequately care for herself. The varied activities she can access and the animals are a huge plus.

We chose Robert Harvey after a three-mile radius search and a personal recommendation. A week's respite was taken as a trial run. My wife has multiple needs - incontinence, falls and vascular dementia, which was covered well, and she was content there. A second respite there evolved into a permanent
residency. The rooms and outdoor area were the best we'd seen; staff were plentiful and genuinely friendly, and even those residents who were able to express themselves welcomed us warmly. My son and I visit frequently and are greeted by staff and residents like old friends. A home from home.

Mum was resident at Robert Harvey House for 3 years. She was diagnosed with Alzhemiers, initially using a walking frame, she became immobile. I have given an overall score of good to all options. However, there were times when the care, the staff ad the management could be classed as excellent. Mum's
family are particularly grateful for the support we were given at the end of her life. We were welcomed and accommodated in such a way that enabled us to support her during her final days just as we would have done had she died in her own home. Given the challenges of COVID and Government directives regarding staff vaccinations and enforced intake of hospital patients etc, the staff and manager deserve medals for their fortitude in maintaining a positive, happy environment.

My nan stayed at Robert Harvey House for three weeks after a hospital stay. The house itself is lovely, well kept and clean, and the staff were all so kind and caring towards her. We felt my nan was safe, and really well looked after during her short time there. Thank you all so much!

All the staff have been amazing, extremely helpful and polite during my dad's stay. I know he felt secure and very well looked after, his medical needs were dealt with promptly and he was never distressed, during the COVID-19 problem I was informed what the situation was and was still able to visit.

My partner was placed into Robert Harvey House nursing home on a temporary basis from 24/04/2022 to 27/06/2022 (nine weeks) during the time she spent there she was extremely well looked after and cared for. All the staff were absolutely fantastic and loving to her. I have nothing but 100% admiration
and all the praise for everyone at Robert Harvey House Nursing Home. They are a wonderful and professional team I can't thank them all enough for all the love and care they gave to my partner.

My father arrived at Robert Harvey House for assessment in March 2022 after being discharged from hospital. Since then he has been looked after with care, compassion and dedication by the staff who are invariably friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the staff are professional
and dedicated and do their best to look after the residents in situations and circumstances which can sometimes be difficult. They go to considerable effort to ensure residents are hydrated and to minimise falls and the management is visible, accessible and responsive.
I am so pleased with the way my father is being cared for and visiting Robert Harvey House
now feels like visiting extended family. I can only extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the team at Robert Harvey House.

I researched at least 20 care homes but walking into Robert Harvey House 'I knew'. The last three years of my husband's life were the highest quality they could possibly be despite his advancing disease and ill health. His lovely light room kept his spirits high, the family of staff made him feel totally
happy and secure, and the animals brought visible joy to him. As for me I could sleep easily knowing he had the most excellent care.

The team at Robert Harvey House did an exceptional job of looking after dad over the last two years as his Alzheimers slowly progressed to its ultimate conclusion.
The decision to place dad into a care home was a tough one, especially against the backdrop of Covid 19 which prevented the family from
looking at the facility prior to dad's placement, straight from hospital. When we could visit, some months later, all of our worries about how he might be being cared for were quickly allayed. The staff were so warm and welcoming and we could see that he was in good hands.
As we went through various lockdowns and were unable to visit again we could always take comfort from knowing that dad was in safe hands in a lovely environment.
The staff kept us in touch with dad's condition as it worsened and we were able to be with dad during his final days and hours. The staff were so kind, helpful, and caring during these sad times.
We would not hesitate to recommend Robert Harvey House to anyone.

Our sister was a resident at Robert Harvey House for 2.5 years following a diagnosis of dementia. Her health declined rapidly leaving us as a family both shocked and at times somewhat bewildered at the sudden changes in her. Throughout this period the staff at Robert Harvey House were not just professional
but caring and loving in the way they treated us all as a family.
We cannot find words sufficient to describe the highest standard of medical and pastoral care our sister received throughout her time at Robert Harvey House and have no hesitation to recommend the home and those who care for the residents. In short Robert Harvey House provide not just accommodation but a ‘family home’ for their residents in the fullest sense of the words.

Our mom moved into Robert Harvey almost 7 years previously. The decision to place her into a care home was a very difficult one for myself and 5 other siblings. However, on my first visit to the care home, I knew it was going to be Mom's new home. The staff knew Mom very very well and as her dementia
progressed we all felt they cared for her as well as any family member would. The residents are all like family. We couldn't have asked for Mom to have lived anywhere else and we will be forever grateful to all the staff at the home. We were able to be with Mom in her final stages and were made to feel very welcome. Thank you will never be enough. We would absolutely recommend Robert Harvey House to anyone looking to place their loved ones in a care facility.

    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
