I was a resident at Robert Harvey Care Home for respite care from October 23rd to November 14th, suffering from a broken leg. On my arrival, I was warmly greeted by senior staff and carers and swiftly escorted to my room. There I was frequently visited by senior staff who were keen that my every need was seen to. The nursing staff regularly assessed me and medication was carefully monitored. Equally the caring staff were professional and caring, cheerful and helpful. I was very impressed with the care and dignified treatment the more challenging residents received. The home has a cheerful and peaceful atmosphere with lots of entertainment and activities. I highly recommend this care home.

My wife and I are friends of a respite resident who spent two weeks recovering after her broken leg. We were her regular visitors and found all facilities second to none. Also, the staff were in the same category.

My father has been in Robert Harvey House Care Home for several months. His room is spacious and clean. He loves it here and is very happy. I can't praise the staff enough, caring, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food is of a high standard and plentiful. Activities are done so everyone can join in. Beautiful gardens and outlook. The manager's door is always open and you are supported fully with any concerns, help is there whenever it is needed. I would sincerely like to thank everyone for what they do, making it such a happy place. They are outstanding in their care and compassion.

My stepdad has been in this home since August 2022, he is very happy here and all the staff are so caring. There are plenty of activities for him to join in and they also have people to come in to entertain residents. The home is managed very well, nothing is any trouble. If you have a query it's sorted immediately. I am very happy with the service that is provided.

This is an excellent nursing home, kept very clean and pleasant to visit. Relatives are made to feel at home and invited to take part in the wonderful activity days regularly put on for residents with singing, food and drink. The manager encourages a home-from-home feel to Robert Harvey House.

The palliative care for my father was second to none; he was made to feel as comfortable as possible and was accommodated with requests as much as physically possible, even to the extent of providing a beer when it was the only thing he fancied drinking. When my father died, the manager was very sensitive and informed my brother and me so that we could inform our elderly mother ourselves so she was not on her own when the news was broken. We were still welcomed to the nursing home after the funeral, and our mother was told she could always visit. The staff are amazing, caring and kind. I cannot recommend this nursing home enough.

Thank you so much for this amazing review. We understand how hard it is for families to hand over the care of their loved one to another and we always strive to involve families with prescriptions of care for any of our residents but especially for those that come to us for palliative care.

My wife has been in Robert Harvey House for four weeks. She has Parkinson’s Disease and Cerebellar Ataxia alongside other problems and since August 2022 this has been her fourth home for an EAB Rehab placement after hospital admissions and this home has been far and above the standard of the previous three. We, as a family never wanted my wife admitted to a home and she herself has always asked expectedly to come home which sadly now seems unachievable but here she felt settled and even stated that if she needed to be in a home then she would be more than happy to stay here as she has improved and felt settled, she has been cared for superbly by the caring staff and attentive doctor who often went above and beyond their duty. The manager/admin staff and the nurses/care staff were all very kind and helpful and along with the kitchen/domestic staff all made this home a pleasant stay and have welcomed all members of my family whilst visiting for which we will always be grateful.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, I'm so happy that we were able to make your experience of a care home a positive one. We found all the staff and management at Robert Harvey House caring, friendly and supportive. My mother, who didn’t fully understand why she needed to be in a nursing home, was always treated with compassion and dignity, and the care staff always made time to talk to us in detail about her needs. For us, Robert Harvey House was an oasis of care and clarity in a desert of doubt and confusion.

We chose Robert Harvey after a three-mile radius search and a personal recommendation. A week's respite was taken as a trial run. My wife has multiple needs - incontinence, falls and vascular dementia, which was covered well, and she was content there. A second respite there evolved into a permanent residency. The rooms and outdoor area were the best we'd seen; staff were plentiful and genuinely friendly, and even those residents who were able to express themselves welcomed us warmly. My son and I visit frequently and are greeted by staff and residents like old friends. A home from home.

Mum was resident at Robert Harvey House for 3 years. She was diagnosed with Alzhemiers, initially using a walking frame, she became immobile. I have given an overall score of good to all options. However, there were times when the care, the staff ad the management could be classed as excellent. Mum's family are particularly grateful for the support we were given at the end of her life. We were welcomed and accommodated in such a way that enabled us to support her during her final days just as we would have done had she died in her own home. Given the challenges of COVID and Government directives regarding staff vaccinations and enforced intake of hospital patients etc, the staff and manager deserve medals for their fortitude in maintaining a positive, happy environment.

Thank you so much for this positive review and for taking the time to write it. The past few years with Covid have been challenging, without a doubt but it is really nice for the team here at Robert Harvey how appreciated they are for their hard work and dedication to looking after older people and their families.
I wish you and your family well.

All the staff have been amazing, extremely helpful and polite during my dad's stay. My father arrived at Robert Harvey House for assessment in March 2022 after being discharged from hospital. Since then he has been looked after with care, compassion and dedication by the staff who are invariably friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the staff are professional and dedicated and do their best to look after the residents in situations and circumstances which can sometimes be difficult. They go to considerable effort to ensure residents are hydrated and to minimise falls and the management is visible, accessible and responsive.
I am so pleased with the way my father is being cared for and visiting Robert Harvey House

I researched at least 20 care homes but walking into Robert Harvey House 'I knew'. The last three years of my husband's life were the highest quality they could possibly be despite his advancing disease and ill health. His lovely light room kept his spirits high, the family of staff made him feel totally happy and secure, and the animals brought visible joy to him. As for me I could sleep easily knowing he had the most excellent care.

My sister spent almost three years being cared for at Robert Harvey House, I was extremely satisfied at all stages of her care there I found the staff to be helpful friendly and communicative.
