Evedale Care Home

All of the staff at Evedale made my father's time there the best that it could possibly be. Both my father and his family want to thank the staff for ensuring that he had a peaceful passing. We will be eternally grateful, and I would highly recommend your service.

The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. From the first day, I felt I knew members of the staff and was known by them. This not only applies to the hands-on care, but the manager and administration team. The multiple lounges are really helpful to allow different interactions.

My father resides at Evedale Care Home and I am very pleased with the care my father is receiving at the home, despite his mental well-being getting worse. Staff are very supportive and really helpful.

I have had a great deal of experience with other care facilities over many years and Evedale is outstanding amongst them. The cleanliness of the premises, no unpleasant odours, the wonderful care of all residents despite many having challenging behaviour and the support offered to family members is outstanding. Myself and family wish to thank all the staff for the care my sister has received over the past four years as a resident at Evedale. We wish in particular, to thank Manager and Home Administrator for their hard work in supporting all staff despite the difficulties encountered during the pandemic as they continue to raise morale and maintain a happy, friendly atmosphere. We cannot express enough our appreciation of the rare skills, professionalism and extremely efficient staff employed at Evedale. If your organisation offers an outstanding award for exceptional performance we wish to nominate Evedale for such an award.

My mum is currently in Evedale. I live abroad and I have just come back from a visit to see my mum for the first time in this nursing home which she was moved to from hospital. I was instantly impressed, it’s a lovely home with a great relaxed atmosphere. What makes it so great is the staff, they are all very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much bother. As a visitor, I was made to feel welcome by everyone and seeing my mum there, her wellbeing and health is the best she’s been in a long time. I have just flown back abroad until my next visit shortly, but I can now relax knowing my mum is staying there and in good hands.

My mum has been at Evedale a week and a half now and she has come on in leaps and bounds. She is walking, which the hospital said she never would. This is all due to the staff here, nothing is too much trouble for them, they do truly care.

My mother was in Evedale for Palliative end of life care with cancer. She arrived in mid April and the expectation was that she would not live more than 2 weeks, however, she lived another 6 weeks from moving to this accommodation.

The accommodation is clean and well presented and I wanted a bird feeder outside my mother's window which was quickly completed by the team which I appreciated.

I would not recommend this place for palliative care, as I don't feel it offered what a hospice would. The establishment is a big home, with such small staff for such large numbers of clients. Staff were rotated or there were agency staff on so I don't feel that they were able to get to know my mum and provide more personal care that she required. Some of the staff were lovely, as were the nurses, but it was a lottery to who you got.

The establishment, although set up and advertises palliative care, I feel did not have the expertise to deal with end of life cancer.

Since moving to Evedale 12 months ago we have felt confident and relaxed about the quality of care given to my father. Long may this continue.

A few mistakes have been made over the last eight years but they were soon sorted, and overall my brother gets treated very well.

The quality of care was such that he felt very much at home and considered the staff as his friends.

When visiting my Auntie the staff always appear friendly. My aunties large room is very comfortable and homely looking. The cleaners are always present during my visits. When sat in the lounge activities are enjoyed by the residents. My only negative is the T.V station usually on Pick showing American murder drama with the volume high.

My dad is well cared for by the friendly and engaging staff team. Who have worked hard to understand his needs.

An amazing care home! Mum was treated with compassion and dignity from the day she arrived and throughout her stay. The staff were all friendly and caring, many of them going the extra mile. As a family, we were always welcomed warmly and nothing was too much trouble. The nursing staff were exemplary with their knowledge and conscientiousness, nothing was too much trouble. We all felt extremely grateful to be involved with Evedale.

My mother was moved to Evedale 27.3.18. The care and welcome from staff and the manager was superb. Excellent and professional, the staff gave the best care my mother has ever had in 13 years of dementia and this her 6th care home. Unfortunately, mum died suddenly 13.4.18 but again the nursing staff and care staff were so kind, supportive and considerate to my mother and her family. This home is amazing. Well done and thank you.

I found the care my mother received throughout her time at Evedale Care Home was excellent. All staff worked really hard to care for residents. After short periods of stay in other homes, Evedale Care Home was by far ther best. The care and treatment even when my mother passed away, was so kind to my sister and me. Thank you all.

My mother-in-law was very ill when she spent two periods of time at Evedale Care Home following discharges from hospital. The quality of care received was of the highest order, with all the staff encountered providing to be dedicated, compassionate and professional services. Management were very approachable and made themselves available to speak to over the phone which was very important as my wife and I live 80 miles away from the home.
