Review from Martine C (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Initially my mother came to stay at Wrottesley temporarily after a fall caused by dementia. On the day she arrived we were greeted in such a friendly way and all of the staff were really kind, helping her settle in and understanding the stress of the situation. It quickly became apparent to us that the level of care provided at Wrottesley was exactly what she needed on a continuing basis and she became a permanent resident.

At every visit our family see how well our mother is cared for and we are really impressed with all the staff. The manager and deputy manager have always been available to discuss anything when we have needed and the nursing staff, activity team, cooks and housekeepers are all lovely. The quality and availability of the food and drink is very good. It is always going to difficult when you have to make the decision to put a loved one into care, but we know she is well looked after, well fed and safe. Thank you.

I have to say for peace of mind my brother couldn't be in a better place, his memory is slowly declining but he's still got a good quality of life, they not only care about the residents but also care about their families. I had a meeting today with people from pond lane disability to check how he's doing. As I left activity young lady came out to me and asked if I was OK and if everything went OK. Thank you for caring about me too.

I feel impelled to write and review. My brother-in-law was admitted on 20/2/26. I love the fact that I can come and go as I please. The introductory tour and information at the beginning were very professional, and nothing was too much trouble. Very well-run home but the thing that is most apparent is the staff. They come straight away, always with smiles, ready to help. This does not just extend to the patient. When I am here, I am always offered tea or coffee, and nothing is too much trouble. My brother-in-law is settled, happy and content.

The staff and facilities are really excellent.
The care provided was heartfelt and friendly.
The management of the complex health needs and strict medication control was very good indeed.

We would recommend this home to anyone and would use the home again without hesitation if he need arose.

My brother has been in the home just over 4yrs. This is the first time in yrs that I feel relaxed and can shut off a bit. I see photos of my brother in activities on Facebook and honestly my daughter and myself have never seen him so happy. The staff are amazing and the activity staff are also amazing. I can now have some me time without constantly thinking if all is OK because I know it is.

A BIG shout out to the manager who is the best I've ever seen THANK YOU

Since my brother has come to Wrottersley Park House, we have seen that he is very happy. He loves going downstairs when they have a singer on; he also goes out to Wolverhampton, which makes him very happy. If something was wrong, he would tell me, so far, everything has been okay.

My uncle has been in the home for 4 years. The last few months the service has improved greatly. The new manager is great and very hands on with the service users. Has shown great compassion to my mom who gets very anxious about my uncle. The support is great. The activities are really good and my uncle enjoys them so much.

I am pleased to write this review, just to let everyone at Wrottessley know their dedication, professionalism, good character, work-ethics and care for the people they look after is most appreciated especially under the leadership of the manager whom I will speak about next.
The manager does not know I am saying this, but need to hear this. He is a true leader, dependable, trustworthy, sincere, helpful, always willing to listen and get back to you when he says he will.
I don't have enough words to quantify him - excellent leader/ manager with first class. He is the General amongst generals.
This home provides high quality care standards from all staff and even some of it's residents who have embraced the regime and doing their bits to be part of the goodness at Wrottessley.
It's excellence outshines it's flaws, hence, the reason why it is the first choice and point of call when care services are required.

Congratulations to all staff/ residents at Wrottessley Park Care Home, you all rock.

I brought my husband to Wrottesley Nursing Home on 16/4/25. He had been very depressed at his last home, and now I visit him today, and what a difference! He actually smiled at me for the 1st time in months. He spoke to me for the 1st time too. I am understandably pleased that in one day the staff have made such a difference.

This is a late review to thank the management team and all Wrottesley staff for the wonderful care and support they gave to my father in the last few months before he died. Dad was quite frail when he was eventually given approval by the local authority to have residential care, and he was so happy to know he could reside at Wrottesley Park House and that he would be safe, and spend his final months without the risk of falling or feeling isolated.
The staff were kind, caring and responsive to all the issues raised by the family to make Dad's stay as homely and as comfortable as possible. He even had a few 'favourites' within the staff team, who attended to his needs and would often make time to have a chat and a laugh with him.

The palliative care he received was excellent and he was comfortable, contented and peaceful in his final days.

My nan spent two months at Wrottesley Park House when she was diagnosed with terminal illness and advised for palliative care. The care , compassion and the kindness shown by the whole staffing team was outstanding, right from the first day until the last day. She was always treated with respect, dignity and kindness. The management team was always approachable, and I found them actively involved in care, giving the team required guidance when required. I would happily recommend Wrottesley Park House to anyone needing care and attention.

The staff including care home management are very friendly, approachable and always prepared to listen and respond to any concerns that are raised by family members of service users. The home itself is clean, bright and welcoming. The rooms of service users are reasonably well kept - although rooms do look very tired and from a hygiene perspective the ' bedding'' should be changed each week and on observation this has not been the case - and as a result this has had to be requested and raised. Resident activity is good, they hold arts and crafts sessions including music and musicians/singers invited for special evening entertainment. Which I'm aware service users enjoy. A recommendation for improvement would be for the home to consider the offer of 121 care and support including 121 activity sessions for service users to help improve wellbeing.
