Farnworth Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our Mum has been a resident of Farnworth Care Home since June 2023. We faced the agonising decision to place our vulnerable Mum into care. At this very challenging time, we feel grateful that we chose this wonderful care home. The warmth, genuine kindness shown to our Mum and to us as a family has been
amazing. All the Staff are incredibly kind, caring for our Mum's needs, preserving her dignity at all times. They ensure all her medical needs are met, skilled, consistent Staff help her to adjust to her failing health, providing person-centered support.
She enjoys her food, and on her good days can take part in the thoughtful activities the staff offer. Although she is mainly in her comfortable room, in the past she has enjoyed being with other residents in the lounge playing games and sharing meals in the dining room.
We feel overwhelmed with thanks to Jayms and his Staff; who provide a truely remarkable place for our loved ones. Highly recommend this excellent CareHome.
Reply from Jayms Bell, Home Manager at Farnworth Care HomeWhat an absolute pleasure to read your lovely feedback about the service provided for your Mum and family. Mum has been here for 2 and a half years, she is well card for, with kindness and patience. We've no complaints re her food.
She enjoys the varied programme of pastimes and crafts but especially the music and singing although she doesn't always join in.
Communication with family is very good and the
nursing care is excellent.

My Aunt had been in Barleycroft for nine and a half years before her recent passing. There had been a number of staff changes during that time. She was always treated with care and respect. As her dementia worsened her care was increased .The home was very welcoming and I was always treated well. the
home was regularly updated with the decor and furnishings. The cleanliness was very good. The activities team work hard to provide things for the more able residents to take part in and organise Family summer and Christmas fairs. Seasonal celebrations always have decorations put up to make a homely atmosphere. All in all a good place.

Aarandale Manor

from Michaela S (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 November 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Aarandale Manor has genuinely changed our lives. They have cared for my mum for the past six years; she is only 66 and living with end-stage progressive multiple sclerosis. I cannot express enough the impact the staff and management have made on her life. They have supported her through every stage
of her illness with patience, dignity, and genuine love. They have gone above and beyond their roles, and have become not just carers, but dear friends. The difference in both her health and mental wellbeing is undeniable.

More recently, my grandfather also became a resident after losing his wife last year and experiencing several falls. At that time, we couldn't see a light at the end of the tunnel. But the carers and staff at Aarandale have given him a new lease of life. He is now happy, safe, and comfortable - something we once weren't sure would ever be possible again.

Kirsty is an outstanding manager, and Claire, Linda, Felicia, and every member of the caring team across all floors

All the staff at Abbeydale Court have been so helpful in the transition of our dad going into care. They are so caring and nothing is too much trouble.
My dad wasn't in a good way when he arrived (from the US) and within a week he was out of his chair and walking around, sitting up and feeding himself.
His
condition is challenging yet the staff all understand the struggles he is having and support him with compassion and respect!
The food is fabulous and I can't praise the chef and team enough also. Healthy and balanced meals daily!
Staff at Abbeydale have really made an effort to make our family welcome when we visit our dad, especially the little kids! They loved going to Abbeydale cinema and coffee shop.
We no longer have sleepless nights worrying about my dad now as we know he's getting the best care possible.
Thanks Abbeydale Court!

My husband has been at this care home for 9 months now, he has been looked after well. I requested for my husband's 74th birthday party to take place in the Activity Room. The activities team displayed a beautiful decorated colourful birthday theme for my husband, and we were both overwhelmed with the
hospitality, care and support from the staff, as well as the home manager being there, and supporting whilst the cutting of the cake.
Reply from Lynn Grafham, Regional Director at Manor Farm Care HomeMany thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We are delighted that your husband has settled so well and that you were all able to enjoy his birthday celebrations.

From the first day Cathy came here and had lunch she was made to feel welcome by the staff on duty. It was amazing how well Cathy settled in. It was a worry because of her Alzheimer's, we thought she would be scared, but she has felt at home from the beginning. Being here over a year now and she has
put on weight and is content. All the staff are kind to Cathy and to us when we come, so its always a pleasure coming here. Her room is kept clean and there are a lot of different activities for her. Can't praise the staff enough for their hard work and kindness to Cathy and her visitors.

Farnworth is a gem of a find.
The atmosphere when you walk in is one of caring and love, which provides a very relaxing and homely feel. There is a high number of staff all dedicated to their work, and the home is run very efficiently. They treat each person as an individual, and treat them with care
and respect. You can relax in the knowledge that your family member is in a safe place, and cared for to the highest standard.

My mother has been a resident at Kenyon Lodge throughout 2025, and we have found the level of care to be excellent. All the team, from nurses, carers, catering staff and cleaners, have all been friendly and have looked after my mother exceptionally well. On the odd occasion when we have raised concerns,
the management team have dealt with it quickly and professionally. We would have no hesitation in recommending Kenyon Lodge.

My husband has been in this care home for the past 18 months. He has settled very well and will tell me how good it is and that he loves it.
He is very well looked after by all members of staff. He attends many of the activities provided and even gets one to one music therapy.
I have noted how happy
all the staff are going about their work, they always acknowledge you when you visit .
The food is first class and the chef goes above and beyond to cater for the residents. The taster nights are a wonderful idea and it gives relatives an idea what is being served.
Communication is excellent and the monthly updates are very useful.
I would not hesitate to recommend this care home.
