My mum is receiving loving care from the wonderful staff which gives our family real peace of mind . Food is lovely which helps my mum to eat well and keep her weight healthy as she was under weight prior to entering the home . Happy with the overall care and services offered.

My mum has settled in well at Rawyards House, mainly due to the support she is receiving from staff. The management, nursing, care and activities teams are professional, thoughtful and communicative. The care she has received has been exemplary. My mum has said on several occasions that she feels lucky
to be living at Rawyards and has "no complaints". I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a caring and welcoming environment.

My aunt has been in Rawyards House for a few years. The care she gets is first class and I have no complaints. The staff adapt to the changes in her dementia and understand the need for this. The staff and manager are all very approachable which is a plus and I know I can ask anything. I do at times
feel the menu could be more to the residents' tastes, and the building is slowly being updated which is nice to see.

My brother and I are really happy with how well my mum has been looked after since entering Rawyards Care Home in July 2025. The staff are all very caring and attentive to mum. She is up most days and sitting with the other ladies and always lovely dressed. She is eating a lot better. Mum said the food
is delicious. We are delighted at how well she has improved since being here.

My husband had a fall could not be moved in case he had broken something an ambulance was alerted and staff made sure he was comfy till it came which was 19 hours later. That was a disgrace. My husband is 92 years old. Staff accompanied him to hospital till I was able to get there. I am 89 years old.
Staff were excellent, and they always keep me informed.

I looked after my husband for 8 years through Alzheimer's. I was reluctant to place him in a care Home but I just couldn't cope anymore. The first few weeks look i was riddled with anxiety (and guilt). I was phoning morning, and night to make sure he was Ok and I thought I must be a nuisance, however
at no time was I made to feel like that. The staff in Beech unit have been so caring and supportive to me I cant praise them enough. My husband is well looked after and cared for which is all I wanted. Things are easier now but that is thanks to the staff.

I have been impressed by the professionalism of all the staff working in Rawyards House, everyone calls my mother by her preferred name and is caring and kind. As my mother's only relative I feel reassured that she is safe and her individual needs are attended to whilst maintaining her independence.
The relative's meetings are very informative and suggestions and requests made by relatives are taken on board. Friends who visit appreciate that they attend social activities such as concerts in Rawyards.

I am writing this review regarding my mother. I am her daughter and I can't fault the staff who care for my mum. The one complaint I have is the menu. This is not a restaurant or hotel doing fancy meals, it is a care home, so do meals according to their age and what they would like.

I am concerned about a lack of contact by management regarding falls/slip hazard. Not resolved and no reply from emails sent weeks ago. I am unhappy with the lack of communication regarding a matter that should not have occurred in the first place.
Reply from Tina Johnstone, Director at Rawyards House Care HomeGood afternoon and thank you very much indeed for your most recent review of Rawyards. Whilst it is disappointing that you have felt a lack of communication within the home I am pleased that a resolution to the hazard was found. Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.149)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.149) out of 10 for Rawyards House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.654 for Rawyards House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (110 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 156 Ratings = 4.654
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.495 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rawyards House Care Home is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 97 registered maximum number of service users is 19.4. 13 Positive Reviews ÷ 19.4 = 0.67
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
