My mother-in-law is receiving excellent care & support at a very difficult time in her life. The staff are going above and beyond what you would expect to help her in ways that are un-forseen. They have been very professional in difficult & challenging circumstances. All round, very impressive.

I visited Heron Hill yesterday to be with my Aunt on the sad occasion of her daughter's/my cousin's funeral.

The Heron Hill team were wonderful. They helped with all the arrangements and were welcoming to us as a small family group and so supportive to my aunt. She is clearly very well cared for and supported.

A special thank you to Nicola, Rob, Sandra and Patrick for accompanying us at the funeral service itself, that was so kind, and to the catering staff for the delicious food back at Heron Hill.

Everyone made a sad day so much easier. The laughter back in the Library after the funeral said so much.

The care my mum receives is excellent on a day to day basis and they always go above and beyond for her birthdays, when we as family have problems in accessing what she needs, and ordering new equipment for her. We are always kept fully informed of everything to do with her health and well being. The staff are always friendly and nothing is too much trouble. A member of the well being team came in on her day off to transport my mum with my sister to the police station to verify her proof of life (my mum is 103 and not independently mobile). All the staff make you feel a part of the KCH family. We love all the celebrations of all cultures and thank you to all for the energy and hard work which goes into providing these occasions. My mum enjoys all the colour, music and fun. Thanks goes to all the staff, whatever their role, under the guidance of Graham and management, in making this place a happy well run home for all the residents and families.

We are so impressed with the superb level of care that our mother receives from the most wonderful and caring staff. At 103 years old she is frail, unsure and in need of a high level of care, especially with her significant lack of mobility. She herself is most appreciative of the dignity and love with which all the staff treat her, and always with a smile. Her meals are specially prepared for her to ensure that she receives correct nutrition. We are most grateful to the attentive & wonderful staff in all departments of the care home community led by a compassionate manager & admin team. We, her family, always feel most welcomed - the whole community is like a loving family atmosphere. We celebrated Mum's 103rd birthday in June with the help of the staff, and she even received a delicious birthday cake. The wonderful summer fayre at Kendal Care Home is a veritable 'tour de force'.

It has been reassuring to know that mum is in good hands and will hopefully continue to make good progress with her mobility

My husband went to give me respite from caring. He was cared for by brilliant staff, right up to the time he died. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff included, events manager, cleaners, handyman too, The manager was empathy personified. They are the best.

At the time of his death the nursing staff and night staff were really compassionate and gentle with dad. We very much appreciated that. And the care home allowed him to stay. In terms of death this massively beat any alternative

I was very negative about my dad entering a nursing home when his Parkinson's became too difficult to manage at home, and I felt like we were failing him in some way. My perspective soon changed when we became part of the Kendal Care Home family. The nursing and care he received was faultless. They treated him with dignity and helped him to find his sense of humour even on his worst days. He was seen as an individual at all times and a real effort was made to understand the man he was and the life he had lived. My mum visited my dad everyday and she was supported by the team every step of the way. Staff always had time for a chat, she was made aware of any entertainment that was taking place and she was reminded and encouraged to eat and drink each day. On the day of my dad's passing, the whole team supported us all through the day, showing genuine compassion and care for our loss. I cannot rate Kendal Care Home highly enough, or thank them enough for all they have done for our family.

My mother has been a resident in Emi since 2024 we moved her due to poor care in a previous care home. The care & support she receives from all staff at Kendal is excellent, when I observe my mum interacting with staff she is smiling & relaxed. Her room is spotless but it does look tired, however, she doesn't spend much time in her room. The staff on Emi are wonderful & supportive to mum & her family. my mum enjoys the food - always a good choice I would recommend Kendal care Home.

My mother was resident in another care home for the last 22 months before moving her to Kendal Care Home. At Kendal she is receiving far better care, wtih good, interesting food and a lovely, larger room. She has settled in very quickly. Relatives are made to feel very welcome and are described as part of the Kendal Care Home family. It was a huge decision moving my mother but we have no regrets.

Thank you for the care and support you gave my mother during the last months of her life, it was greatly appreciated.

I regularly visit two friends in KCH, and am continually amazed at how outstanding everything is: the welcome, the hospitality, the range of activities provided, the positive, energetic atmosphere and how residents aren't coming into a care home to wait until they die, but to absolutely enjoy living a very full life!

When my wife has had any problems they have been handled sensitively and with kindness. the standard of care is excellent.

What makes Heron Hill as good as it is is the culture they have created amongst their staff. In the year we have been visiting we have never experienced anything other than excellent interactions between the staff, residents and ourselves. They are always caring.

She is treated with kindness and dignity at all times. I am extremely grateful to all members of staff and know my mum is in safe hands.

Dad has been in Heron Hill since the beginning of February and we are now in April. He has settled well . The Staff are absolutely fantastic with each patient that I have seen. They come and and tend to their every need. There are lots of activities for the residents to do, from Gardening to Arts and Crafts . There is a nice garden for them to sit outside and get some lovely fresh air. Also the home has its own mini bus and some of the residents go for a little ride out to places and they really have a great time. Nothing is too much trouble. If your feeling anxious about anything just go and talk to one of the Senior carers and the will help sort out the problem. If your Relative wants to go out with you for a little ride that's not a problem either you can just take them for a little ride . The patients all have their own bedroom, with a toilet and sink en-suite. A buzzer for emergency if need be. My Dad is very happy there . I visit 3/4 times a week. .

Visited care home over 6 days this visit. Always made welcome and felt could stay as long as I wanted. Staff always happy to include me with brother's meals. All areas were clean and fresh. Comfortable and pleasant surroundings with quiet areas if wanted. Unfortunately, twice, when I visited my brother he was still in bed, because they were short-staffed. Once at 9:30 am and the other at 11:30 am. The latter was inexcusable. He was distressed and thought he was ill. One sister didn't wait for my brother to say goodbye before we left, snatched the wheelchair to push him to lounge, he was angry and upset. Generally the staff are patient and kind.

I am an infrequent visitor to the care home as I live 100 miles away but think the home does what it says 'on the tin'. Its bright and clean and staff lovely and so helpful. My sister has rallied in your care and I thank you for that. Your home ticks all the right boxex. Cannot comment on management or safety/suecurity really.

I have marked down for security but that is only due to my mums tenacity in trying to escape. I think this has not been such an issue of late and I'm unsure how this could have been avoided.
