From the day my cousin moved in his care was excellent the manager Jayms was very professional and caring and the staff especially Fiona and Suree were so kind, caring and compassionate Fiona and another person I think named Joshua were with my cousin when he passed away which I was so grateful for I cannot thank them enough. I felt the job Fiona and Suree do is more than a job to them it was more of a vocation and they are a credit to their profession. Thank all so much .

A very dear friend who I have known for over 50 years developed Vascular Dementia and onset Alzheimer's. I looked after her for a few years while she was able to stay in her flat. Two years ago her condition deteriorated. We both lived in Kent. My friend has a lovely Goddaughter who lives in Bolton and would regularly travel to Kent to visit her. Because of my age and health my friend's Goddaughter and I decided it was time for her to go into residential accommodation. It was more practical that she moved into a residential home in Bolton. Her Goddaughter found Farnworth Care Home. What a blessing.
I find it hard to put into words all the love and care my friend is receiving in Farnworth Care Home. The kindness of everyone, whether it is a telephone call to speak with your loved one or a member of staff to discuss how she is. The management and staff, including the wonderful daily carers are always available. I cannot speak highly enough of Farnworth Care Home.

We take concerns about care standards and communication extremely seriously. Following the concerns raised with us, we completed a formal investigation in line with our complaints procedure, which included a review of the relevant care records, risk assessments, care plans, medication records, professional notes and communication records.
Due to confidentiality and data protection requirements, we are unable to discuss the specific details of an individual resident's care in a public forum. However, we remain committed to addressing concerns openly and respectfully through the appropriate complaints process, and we would welcome further direct contact with the Home Manager should the family wish to discuss any outstanding concerns.

Farnworth Care Home has provided a safe, comfortable and caring last home for my mother. Things have not always gone smoothly but all the staff have been supportive, patient and reassuring. Mum's needs have been met in all aspects of her nursing care and well being. The home is clean and tidy. Dirty laundry is removed daily and returned speedily. The standard of food is varied and prepared to a high standard, nothing is omitted. Hot/cold drinks and snacks are provided 24 hours a day. I cannot fault Farnworth Care Home. You all deserve a medal. You are all wonderful. Thank you for caring for my mum.

My dad has been a resident on Firwood at Farnworth Care Home since January 2025. During this time, the care that he has received has been exemplary from all of the staff. My dad says how lovely and caring they all are; each member of staff that deals with him has formed a relationship with him, and that makes him feel valued. We are also really impressed with all of the activities that are available to residents every day. We also can't speak highly enough of James, the manager who too is very amenable.

There is also plenty to do with lots of events taking place, and not just at Christmas and Easter, which often include residents' family members too. Recently they even did a Chinese New year celebration and meal which was lots of fun. There are plenty of games and activities, entertainers and singers that come in, and trips and days out. My mum loves it. So yes, very pleased.

Both my Mum & Dad had to get care at the same time and we was very lucky that Farnworth care home could take both in at the same time, Mum was very sick and passed away a couple of months after, the care she got and dignity she got from all the staff was amazing and they truly helped in a very difficult time, Dad is still in Farnworth care home and the staff really looked after him after Mums passing, he couldnt be in better place. Dad had an extremely difficult year in 2025, due to declining health including several infections alongside delirium. After a few weeks in hospital he was sent to a rehabilitation unit, which was a very distressing time, due to sporadic care and dad's increasing needs. Once we accepted the advice that he wouldn't be able to safely return home, we began the hunt for a suitable nursing home. We were quite shocked at some of the environments we came across, however when we found Farnworth Care Home we were warmly welcomed and it immediately felt like a homely and loving environment. It was a huge relief when dad finally became settled and comfortable; it wasn't easy upon his arrival but staff worked hard to manage his pain levels and provided the level of care that he had been much in need of. It was such a relief to see him in a clean, comfortable environment and in the last few months of his life he was treated with much dignity and care which was a huge comfort to us as family. Thanks!

We always try our hardest to remind people to enter their details when visiting a loved one however we don't always get it right. Following the comments you have made I will reiterate to all of the team welcoming visitors into the Home to ensure they are reminded to enter their car registration details onto the system. My mother in law went in firstly for respite. I agree at first it was hard for her when we went to visit She would get upset when we left & was very hard for the staff to try & console her. Over the month or so she has settled a lot better & now given the opportunity to stay on permanent.basis. I'm very impressed how they have daytime activities for all the residents & celebrate birthday's & other celebratory occasions. We are pleased to say she has gained weight as well. The staff who organise the games & activities are brilliant, my MIL has taken shine to them to which we are so grateful. She has made friend's and doing really well. After qualifying as a Mental Health Nurse in 2007, I have gained over 15 years of experience working in the private care sector, predominantly with older adults. This area is especially important to me as I have experienced first-hand the negative side of caring for a loved one. I vowed to my profession that I would try my very hardest to ensure that nobody within my care would experience what I experienced. This is the ethos that I use each and every day.
The care home lists weekly fees per person from £1,380 for residential care (respite from £1,380) and from £1,380 for nursing care (respite from £1,380). Funding accepted: Self-Funding (Private), Local Authority with Top-up, Local Authority, NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC).
