My mum is in the care home and they look after her to our satisfaction, so I can't understand the report in the local news, they must have gone round the home picking every loose hair, dust etc. My family and myself are happy with her wellbeing.
Thank you very much for your post. The staff at Farnworth will be delighted to hear your comments.
My father-in-law was resident at Farnworth care home for nursing care. From the moment he was admitted he was treated with dignity, kindness and care of an extremely high standard. Dad was a very private and proud man, he was kept immaculately clean, well-dressed and was encouraged to eat and drink in the most wonderful way. We witnessed a bedridden resident encouraged to walk with a Zimmer frame and then unaided which was fantastic to see. His room was furnished to a high standard, we were encouraged to make it his home, we were told “it’s his home now so bring in whatever you think he would like”. The staff were warm and welcoming to our family, nothing was too much trouble and they became his, and our, friends. Thank you for all you did for our dad, I’m sorry it’s been 5 months since I’ve posted this review. We did write and email when he passed away but I felt this “public” review may help other families pondering the difficult decision in choosing where to place their loved ones.
My Mum was looked after for nearly three years by the staff of the Beaumount nursing Unit at Farnworth Care Home, Mum was totally dependent on the staff and could not verbally express herself. She was well cared for with the staff respecting her dignity. Mum was on a very soft diet but her food always looked appetizing and smelt good. Her skin integrity was maintained. She was always dressed in matching clothes and her cleanliness was maintained. The staff tried to give the residents treats in Mum's case it was homemade chocolate mouse as she was very limited in what she could do or eat. The turnover of staff is very low and the trained nurses had not changed throughout her stay. The nursing staff kept the family well informed about Mum's care.
Thank you very much for this. It was a pleasure.
Truly wonderful. My friend was here for a number of weeks under the amazing palliative care team. What a caring and dedicated team of people they were. She was treated with the utmost respect and dignity in her final weeks. Everyone went above and beyond their roles and were a credit to their profession. It was obvious that staff loved their jobs and this showed in the care provided. We will never forget this amazing place and cannot thank them enough for their support to the end.
Thank you so much. It was a pleasure to care.
My mum was resident in Farnworth Care Home for three months until she passed away. I cannot praise the care, attention and respect shown to her by all members of staff during her stay. They are exceptional people, doing a job of work which must be difficult and stressful at times, but they carry out their duties with a smile on their face, kindly words, and great compassion
The home is bright, cheerful, spotlessly clean, well maintained and well run.
During a stressful week for my family, I was ringing the home often to check on mum's condition, and my calls were answered so politely, my questions answered in full, and if there were any changes in mum's condition, I was called immediately by the member of staff taking care of her.
Mum's last three months were spent in a clean and caring environment, and I cannot thank all members of staff enough. Living a long distance from the home, I had peace of mind knowing that mum was well looked after. Thank you all so much.
Thank you for the kind review. As always its been a pleasure to care.
The patient I went to see at 6.15 had not been shaven on the day totally unacceptable in this day and age.
A strong smell of urine.
Would never put any of my family in this place.
My mum-in-law was resident in Farnworth Care Home for end of life care and from the initial look around the home prior to her admission, and through to her death my husband and I were extremely impressed and grateful for the wonderful care they provided for her in her final days.
Thanks to the professional and dedicated staff she had a comfortable, dignified and peaceful passing. We would happily recommend them to anyone unfortunate enough to be needing end of life care.
Our deepest thanks.
Mum had a dignified peaceful death, thanks to the dedication and professionalism of the whole team. Thank you.

Meet the Team (1)

After qualifying as a Mental Health Nurse in 2007, I have gained over 15 years of experience working in the private care sector, predominantly with older adults. This area is especially important to me as I have experienced first-hand the negative side of caring for a loved one. I vowed to my profession that I would try my very hardest to ensure that nobody within my care would experience what I experienced. This is the ethos that I use each and every day.
