Farnworth Care Home

My elderly mother suffers from Alzheimer's. Unfortunately due to a lengthy hospital stay, she regressed drastically and once she was medically fit for discharge it became clear that she would sadly not be able to return to her home. The anxiety of surrendering control of your loved one's health and well-being cannot be overstated. Farnworth Care Home were able to accommodate my mother and over the weeks my mother has been there my trust and confidence in my mother's care has grown immeasurably and is in stark contrast to the care my mother received in hospital. Despite having to care for many people with challenging and varied care needs the staff and management are able to deal with this in a professional and friendly manner. The biggest compliment I could probably pay them is they really do seem to care for the residents and that is really all you can ask for.

It was my father-in-law's funeral yesterday and the staff bent over backwards to ensure his widow was taken outside to watch the funeral procession. It really was appreciated and meant the world to all their family for all the hard work they all put in, they went above and beyond. We do not have the words to express how much we appreciate them. So I would like to say on behalf of all the family thank you very much.

First-class care, will not find a better care home for your loved ones.

My mother-in-law went to Farnworth Care Home by choice as it was the only place with a bed for respite as we were not coping with her in her home. The relief at knowing she was safe and cared for was overwhelming. All the staff were amazing with her, she took part in activities and despite not always wanting to, she was warm, fed and washed for the first time in months. She was there a year before her sad passing. Staff were amazing with their care of her and of us. Cannot thank them enough.

I have come into Farnworth Care Home for respite purposes. As the weeks have gone by, I have managed to gain more confidence and feel better by mixing with the other residents, gaining in the recreation activities outside in the lovely garden when the weather permits. I am very glad to stay in the home, and I look forward to going home feeling better.

Mum is so much better since she went into the home she likes the staff and is now happy her memory is still not good, but she is not afraid of her environment anymore. She is safe and well-fed. The rooms are great very comfortable. The staff are always hard working.

Your staff were very professional at all times, day or night. Always very cheerful and helpful. Helped with my recovery immensely.

Transferred from a home by the hospital that was suitable, went down very quickly. Farnworth Care Home had him transformed, they tended to him and were kind and caring to members of the family and I am very pleased with everything they did. Even on the 12th the day, the day they had to tell us that he was on his last days. I would recommend that Farnworth should be the first place anyone should try, they couldn't go wrong.

I have found your staff exceptionally helpful and empathetic towards the residents particularly my friend who is sometimes confused. Nothing is too much trouble and even when my friend doesn't need assistance, they still bob their heads into the room to check all is okay. I am familiar with residential/nursing homes as I used to carry out rota visits for the local authority.

I would highly recommend should anyone have to make this decision, based on my mine and my mum's experience.

In July 2022, our mum went into nursing care at Farnworth Care Home, we cannot thank each and every one of the staff enough. Her care was wonderful, she was treated with dignity and respect at all times. Sadly, she recently passed away and during her final days, the nursing and care staff were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we felt welcome any time of the day. We received valued information from the nurses and this helped us understand what was happening at this incredibly sad time. Thank you very much indeed.

Farnworth Care Home was recommended and mum chose to go into residential four years ago with a broken arm and arthritis. She has always loved her time there and compared it to a hotel with room service if required. The entertainment has been amazing, from singing with Elvis, quizzes, sing-alongs, and various animals. So many wonderful activities and four birthday cakes and parties. Unfortunately, mum contracted covid in 2020 and was bedridden from thereon. The staff on residential were amazing and looked after her like their own mother. Many thanks. 2021 she needed nursing care and was transferred to the Belmout unit, where she was made to feel at home, nursed and pampered and so well looked after. Not being able to do anything for herself at this stage. Sadly mum passed away from old age at 99 in June. I was constantly there when covid allowed and made to feel like one of the family. A million thanks to everyone for everything. I 100% recommend it.

This place is the best care home ever. It is very friendly and the staff and manager are amazing.

Mum became a resident six years ago when she was 100. She died last month aged 106, peacefully. She always enjoyed living at Farnworth and we were always happy with the care she received. The nursing and care staff on the first floor took really good care of her and made her family feel welcome. It really felt like her home but with the bonus of the nursing care she needed.

My father has been in the Belmont Unit for 18 months and despite being upset that he requires full-time nursing care, I couldn’t have wished for a better place for him to be. Due to the pandemic, we were unable to choose where he would be sent following discharge from the hospital, but I am pleased to say that we would most definitely have chosen Farnworth Care Home had we had that choice. The staff are kind and caring, plus the activities team are excellent and are always thinking of ways to keep the residents entertained.

Mum has been in the care home for 20 months and over this time Mum has deteriorated. Mum is now on the nursing floor. Her care has been excellent, she has a lovely relationship with the staff and is very happy there.

There is a real family feel to the place and mum feels very happy and comfortable with the carers. The food is very good and there are plenty of activities for those who are able to enjoy them. For residents who maybe aren’t able to join in activities staff will do their nails or sing with them in their rooms.
