My mum has been in this home for two years now and always seems happy. The staff have always been helpful and polite. They have done an excellent job with the residents during lockdown and kept me informed regarding my mum.

The carers who I have dealt with, I feel have been excellent,t and if inspected would be outstanding. I feel they have a really tough job and in the circumstances, I am very happy with them. I do feel office management is poor, however. I did request a call back from the regional office manager and
as of yet... I have not received one, nor have I received one from the office management team at Farnworth regarding my issue at the time. I also feel that poor phone connections have been an issue, again, on no account do I put the blame at the door of the carers, this falls on the office management department. To only have two phones on a floor and one that cannot reach certain rooms and internet providers not having previously sorted this issue I feel is poor. Again, this does not reflect the poor carers who run from pillar to post accommodating and bringing relatives to the phones to help it lies with the office management team.

The home provides a good standard of support to my mum but they have needed additional support in covid which I don't believe they received. Visits can only be facilitated Monday-Friday between 9-5 which makes it impossible for working relatives. Staff are friendly, upbeat, caring and compassionate
but they need more of them!

My stepmother was moved to Farnworth Care Home in January 2020 when my Father was taken into hospital. Her situation at their home was just intolerable. She spent 24 hours a day in a dark bedroom, often in a wet bed, carers working under pressure often failed to arrive, my Dad was blind to my step mother's
needs, I had tried over the previous 2 years to get them both to move into a Care Home, but there had been a flat refusal from both. Dad died therefore my stepmother stayed at Farnworth and all I can say is she has thrived. Her underlying diagnosis means she will deteriorate and develop increasing problems as the weeks go by but the wonderful staff at Farnworth Care Home have managed to make life bearable for her, they care, they support, they communicate, they meet the day to day challenges without complaint. I live at the opposite end of the country, and Covid-19 put a stop to any ideas I had of visiting regularly. I am so grateful for the care my stepmother receives, thank you.

My husband had to be transferred to a nursing home from hospital after several very bad falls, he had developed dementia, I was dreading him leaving me to go in a home but my mind was put at rest immediately. He is so happy and well looked after, the staff are wonderful with him and take great care
of him. He has a nice room with bathroom en suite, TV and plenty of furniture for his needs. I can call him any time except meal times, of course, he has put weight on because he loves the food he is given. He has made friends with other men and they can sit in the TV lounge and talk to each other whilst having a drink etc. There are lots of activities that he joins in with and he tells me he is very happy and that is the most important thing to me. I can always speak to the nursing staff if I’m at all worried about him and I am always reassured by them. I would recommend Farnworth Home to everybody - it’s well run, the place is spotless and airy and the staff are just wonderful.

My dad settled here really quickly and is happy. His condition has improved in the 2.5 years he has been here. It has been very difficult during recent restrictions and the staff have been excellent. We are able to keep in touch daily and several staff members send impromptu photos and updates for us,
which is fantastic. Overall I feel my dad is safe and well cared for here and would recommend.

My mum only spent a short time in the residential unit at Farnworth, prior to her passing this week. However, I can say that despite the difficulties with restrictions emanating from COVID, we know our mum was surrounded by very professional, deeply caring and committed, day and night staff. During
the last few days of mum’s life, my mum, sister and I were shown nothing but respect and kindness throughout and the staff went above and beyond the call of duty to make mum, my sister and I comfortable, allowing us to stay, during this very emotional period. We are indebted to each and every one of the staff who crossed our path and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Thie care home gives excellent care. Mum is looked after extremely well. The food always looks lovely. I would have no problem in recommending this care home.

My husband was very well looked after by all the staff. All his needs were catered for and in his end of life care the kindness and compassion of the staff not only to my husband but also to his family was excellent. We were offered food and drinks to see us through our very sad few days. The care in

I liked to join in with all the festivity over the Christmas period. There were Christmas carols from local schools, Christmas parties with lots of lovely food and beers. I sat with the other residents and the company was good. Families are always made welcome. All the staff are my friends and they

I cannot praise this care home enough. From six weeks respite, with a view to being permanent, a buddy made my dad feel at home on a one-to-one basis and settled him in and I lost my bet! Dad has a lovely new life, 24-hour care, a social life, it's all good and I am delighted with the outcome. I take
him out for fresh air locally as our quality time together is very precious. Keep up the good work everybody.

We feel confident that our mother is safe and cared for, we have built a relationship with staff. From day one the staff knew she was arriving and greeted her by name, these little things go a long way. The home is clean and modern, the food fantastic, the staff are always on the go, but always have

Although my Uncle was only there a few days before he was taken to hospital, they took great care of him and the staff were very friendly and helpful to us. He settled in really quickly and enjoyed the food while he was there.

I'd like to thank all of the staff at Farnworth Care Home especially on the Belmont Unit for making the extra effort to make Christmas special for my mum. We've had lots of laughter, Mum has really flourished with taking part in some of the organised activities - she loved the donkey visit and in particular
the carol service over at St Gregory's which was so well attended and really enjoyable.

We are extremely pleased with the care and support given to my mother-in-law who has been in the care home for 6 months. My grandma spent a short few months in the care of the wonderful nurses and staff at Farnworth Care Home. She had cancer and wasn't strong enough to stay in her own home, she received the best care and treatment I have ever seen. She wanted her final days to be spent at the hospice but there wasn't
any beds.
All I can say is she herself was more than happy with the care and service she had and then when she was in those final days she was treated with the utmost dignity and respect. We couldn't of asked for a better place for her to be at her time of passing.
There aren't enough words for myself or my family to use to say how much we appreciate the kind way she was treated.
The staff here came across like they do the job they do because they are passionate about caring and not because they want a wage.

After qualifying as a Mental Health Nurse in 2007, I have gained over 15 years of experience working in the private care sector, predominantly with older adults. This area is especially important to me as I have experienced first-hand the negative side of caring for a loved one. I vowed to my profession that I would try my very hardest to ensure that nobody within my care would experience what I experienced. This is the ethos that I use each and every day.
