Naturally she was terrifies at the thought, all the implications, and leaving me on my own at home.
The move to Farnworth Care Home has worked out far better than we could have imagined.
The rooms and facilities have compared very favourable with other care homes we visited.
And the staff are so friendly and helpful.
Glad to say despite fears, my wife is very happy there.

Mum moved into Farnworth Care Home after a very unsuccessful stay in hosptial and another care facility. The staff at the home here quickly engaged with mum & the family to fully meet her needs. Management are easy to contact and open to ideas and suggestions to improve care.

It is an absolute pleasure to read your lovely comments as we really do value all types of feedback that we receive. I am very glad that you are happy with the service that we provide. Thank you, Jayms!
I have settled in very well. Although the staff appear to listen to what you're saying, I find their relaying of messages is rather poor. I find the environment very noisy during the day. I have commented on the noise, but nothing changed. The food is very unappetizing and repetitive. Most of the staff are very caring.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of Farnworth Care Home. All types of feedback are vital for us to continually review, learn and improve on the service that we provide. I am truly sorry that our service has fallen short throughout your experience including communication within...

My mum went in for a couple of weeks to be looked after while I was away on holiday, she stayed on the 2nd floor- Firwood unit.
From enquiring/ booking/ visiting the care home everything was explained fully and reassurance was given as we were very anxious about leaving mum in any care home.
My mum absolutely loved her time here, all the staff were great and my mum was well cared for, she said the food choices were great too!
Would definitely recommend this care home for anyone looking and my mum is looking forward to her next holiday here.
Thank you to all the staff at farnworth care home.

I was very apprehensive about my husband going into a care home. I really didn't have to worry about anything; the care he receives is second to none. The staff really care for the residents and their families; I feel like the staff are extended family. I would have no hesitation in recommending Farnsworth Care Home.

My mum has been in Farnworth care home for 4 years. I've never had cause for concern; the staff are brilliant, and meals always look good. The manager is also friendly, and if you have concerns, they listen to you.

All the staff looking after my Mum were extremely caring and patient with her. They kept me up to date with any health issues she had. Mum found it hard at first to settle in but soon was laughing with the staff who made her welcome. They were there for her in her last hours when sadly I could not be there due to my own health issues and living in Wales. I cannot praise them enough for all their care and dedication to her.
Firstly, please accept our sincerest condolences on the loss of your Mum. We highly value all types of feedback about the service we provide and thoroughly appreciate you taking the time to share your encounter with Farnworth Care Home. Thank you
Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of different activities for the residents. Very clean establishment. Nice enclosed garden when weather permits. On site hair salon which mum uses regularly. Mum's health stabilised due to good nursing care.
We want to thank you for providing us with feedback about your and your Mum's experience at Farnworth Care Home. We are so pleased to hear that your Mum's health has stabilised whilst with us and wish both of you continued good health. Thank you again
Since my brother was admin to the Nursing home in November for respite care, and now a permanent resident. He as been treated with dignity, respect, all staff are conscientious, friendly and caring towards all patients. I have visited other homes and found that Farnworth Nursing home is absolutely wonderful. Patient focus is always good and nothing is too much for them. Staff are happy friendly listen to relatives problems and concerns an act on solution if needed. Would highly recommend the Nursing home and would never move him .
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review of your and your brother's experience at Farnworth Care Home. It is extremely rewarding and humbling to hear that the service we are providing is 'absolutely wonderful'. I will be sure to share your kind words with the whole team. Thank you again,
My mum has been in the care home for 3 years and in that time the care and kindness towards her and my family has been first class, of course its never going to be perfect with 40 residents on the floor but in my mums case I can say the care has been excellent and I would personally like to thank all the staff for taking care of my mum.
It is an absolute pleasure to read your lovely comments. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of Farnsworth Care Home. Without valuable, first-hand feedback, we would struggle to evaluate the service that we are providing and we are ever so grateful that you are happy with our service provision. Thank you again
I left a review when my father-in-law stayed for a month earlier this year, this time just a few days, but he said he loves coming on holiday to Farnworth, he says the staff are all lovely, so friendly and always happy, he loves the food, he is looking forward to coming again in the future. We tried a nursing home in Radcliffe and a few others but he didn't like them at all. This is the first home he has stayed in more than once, so relieved we have found somewhere he likes.
This is so beautiful to read. We strive to provide the best possible experience for all of the people who live, work and visit Farnworth Care Home and to read your kind, first-hand comments is an absolute pleasure. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience (again!). We are truly grateful
My Uncle was in Farnworth care home recently with Stage 4 cancer and I could not have been happier with the care that he received in his short time there. All the care staff treated him with kindness and respect and the nursing staff were wonderful at the end. I would like to thank Claire for her help and guidance with the NHS CHC processes and the level of care that her team delivered. If you are looking for a quality home for your loved one - This is it
Thank you for your lovely kind comments. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your loved one's, and your own experience of Farnworth Care Home. The whole team are ever so grateful for your feedback. Thank you again
This care home is so lovely and both myself and my brother are so relieved we managed to get our Mum a place on the nursing unit. From the moment we arrived to have a look around to now having Mum settled in and being looked after by the lovely nurses and staff, it's been such a faultless experience. Nothing is too much trouble, just ask and someone is always happy to help. Mum's even had her hair done today in the onsite salon. It's so important to pick the right place for your loved ones when they need it and we couldn't be happier.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review of your Mum's, and your experience of Farnworth Care Home. We really appreciate the lovely kind comments that you have sent us and are happy that you are very pleased with the service. Thank you

Meet the Team (1)

After qualifying as a Mental Health Nurse in 2007, I have gained over 15 years of experience working in the private care sector, predominantly with older adults. This area is especially important to me as I have experienced first-hand the negative side of caring for a loved one. I vowed to my profession that I would try my very hardest to ensure that nobody within my care would experience what I experienced. This is the ethos that I use each and every day.
