Transferred from a home by the hospital that was suitable, went down very quickly. Farnworth Care Home had him transformed, they tended to him and were kind and caring to members of the family and I am very pleased with everything they did. Even on the 12th the day, the day they had to tell us that
he was on his last days. I would recommend that Farnworth should be the first place anyone should try, they couldn't go wrong.

Clean and inviting. The staff are good with Mum. Not seen much on the enhancement side this couple of months. Staff have been on holidays.

I have found your staff exceptionally helpful and empathetic towards the residents particularly my friend who is sometimes confused. Nothing is too much trouble and even when my friend doesn't need assistance, they still bob their heads into the room to check all is okay. I am familiar with residential/nursing
homes as I used to carry out rota visits for the local authority.

I was apprehensive when my mum had to go into temporary residential care but was pleasantly surprised by the clean, happy environment I found! Mum will now be a permanent resident here based on this experience.
Lovely, caring staff, a happy, friendly environment, the manager doesn't hide in his office,
nor do other associated staff, and receptionists are helpful and cheerful. Special thanks to all the staff on Firwood, they get to know the residents, encourage them with daily activities, socialising and joining in the regular events which generally improve Mum's life; as well as delivering exceptional nursing care and support.
The support they give to family members too is much appreciated, they always offer a friendly wise ear - especially the nursing team, as many know placing a loved one in care is a very difficult decision and this makes a massive difference.
I would highly recommend should anyone have to make this decision, based on my mine and my mum's experience.

In July 2022, our mum went into nursing care at Farnworth Care Home, we cannot thank each and every one of the staff enough. Her care was wonderful, she was treated with dignity and respect at all times. Sadly, she recently passed away and during her final days, the nursing and care staff were exceptional.
Nothing was too much trouble for them and we felt welcome any time of the day. We received valued information from the nurses and this helped us understand what was happening at this incredibly sad time. Thank you very much indeed.

Farnworth Care Home was recommended and mum chose to go into residential four years ago with a broken arm and arthritis. She has always loved her time there and compared it to a hotel with room service if required. The entertainment has been amazing, from singing with Elvis, quizzes, sing-alongs, and
various animals. So many wonderful activities and four birthday cakes and parties. Unfortunately, mum contracted covid in 2020 and was bedridden from thereon. The staff on residential were amazing and looked after her like their own mother. Many thanks. 2021 she needed nursing care and was transferred to the Belmout unit, where she was made to feel at home, nursed and pampered and so well looked after. Not being able to do anything for herself at this stage. Sadly mum passed away from old age at 99 in June. I was constantly there when covid allowed and made to feel like one of the family. A million thanks to everyone for everything. I 100% recommend it.

Mum became a resident six years ago when she was 100. She died last month aged 106, peacefully. She always enjoyed living at Farnworth and we were always happy with the care she received. The nursing and care staff on the first floor took really good care of her and made her family feel welcome. It
really felt like her home but with the bonus of the nursing care she needed.

My father has been in the Belmont Unit for 18 months and despite being upset that he requires full-time nursing care, I couldn’t have wished for a better place for him to be. Due to the pandemic, we were unable to choose where he would be sent following discharge from the hospital, but I am pleased
to say that we would most definitely have chosen Farnworth Care Home had we had that choice. The staff are kind and caring, plus the activities team are excellent and are always thinking of ways to keep the residents entertained.

Mum has been in the care home for 20 months and over this time Mum has deteriorated. Mum is now on the nursing floor. Her care has been excellent, she has a lovely relationship with the staff and is very happy there.

My mother has lived here for the past four years. When we first looked around (we had been to too many) we instantly knew this was the right one. The staff are amazing especially throughout Covid keeping us up to date on how mum was.
There is a real family feel to the place and mum feels very happy
and comfortable with the carers. The food is very good and there are plenty of activities for those who are able to enjoy them. For residents who maybe aren’t able to join in activities staff will do their nails or sing with them in their rooms.

My mother now requires 24/7 nursing care and has several health issues which cannot be met by home care services. Mum is settled and happy in this home. I found the process was made easier by the manager/social worker as never done this before. CQC recommendation is good. The location suits my extended
family. At 93 years, mum deserves the best care possible which I feel has been achieved in this home.

I have always found the staff here extremely caring. Although my husband now needs special dementia care I have no hesitation in recommending this as a residential home. Unfortunately due to staff shortages my husband cannot receive the intensive care he now needs. The last two years have been a difficult
time for carers and I salute them for doing their very best. They are underpaid and too often overlooked in the shadow of the N.H.S. They deserve more support and the private sector should address these problems in partnership with local govt NHS and social care as a whole. Congratulations Farnworth for all your hard work.

I am the brother of a resident. My sister received great care and compassion from all staff on the palliative care unit. It was a credit to their care so much that to see them upset at my sisters passing was a true meaning of their care and hard work. Not only that they looked after us relatives through
the night and anytime we attended my sister. The little reassuring comments and touches relieved our sadness. They are second to none in their endeavour to care. It is a hard job but they do it with living care. Be proud and we give you all a special Clap and Praise for your care. I am thankful you were there for her and us. Bless you all from my heart. My uncle was admitted to Farnworth Care Home for nursing care. The staff were fantastic with him, he loved the food and the care he received in such a short time was outstanding. No matter what time we turned up to visit him, he was always clean with fresh bedding and clothes, we truly could not have
asked for more. They made his last couple of weeks so much easier than expected.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2022

After qualifying as a Mental Health Nurse in 2007, I have gained over 15 years of experience working in the private care sector, predominantly with older adults. This area is especially important to me as I have experienced first-hand the negative side of caring for a loved one. I vowed to my profession that I would try my very hardest to ensure that nobody within my care would experience what I experienced. This is the ethos that I use each and every day.
