Lynhales Hall Nursing Home provides expert nursing care for residents with complex care needs involving physical and mental health conditions.

Tailored support is given to people with physical disabilities, sensory impairments or progressive illness within a well-equipped, yet comfortable and homely, environment. The John Sperry Memorial Unit embraces John Sperry’s belief in the importance of allowing residents to be themselves and to express their personalities, free of sedation.

Compassionate care is delivered 24 hours per day by a team of dedicated and specialised staff. This exceptional care, complemented by the purpose-built facilities, means that every resident can achieve their potential and enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle, regardless of the type and stage of dementia they have.

Lynhales Hall is set within 7 acres of beautiful, peaceful woodland, conveniently close to the charming market town of Kington. This offers a real choice for residents who are able to relax in the luxurious surroundings of the home or explore the local amenities, accompanied by a member of the care team.

The outdoor space at Lynhales Hall is beautiful and is often the location of local fayres and garden parties, but the home interior is equally inviting. The homely decorated rooms and communal social spaces give a real home-from-home feeling – and this is enhanced through personalisation with the inclusion of residents’ furniture and treasured possessions.

There are a huge range of activities organised by the in-house team to stimulate, spark enthusiasm and capture the imagination. I visited my Nan for the first time in a few years, being so far away it has been difficult to juggle home life etc but I'm so glad I was able to get up this time, it was so lovely to see my Nan happy and content, at the same time being clean and tidy and very well looked after, her room was light and
airy and she had a lovely bird feeder at her window that was so lovely to see the birds coming up to it and chirping away. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and had the time to talk to me regarding my Nan and reassured me that she is very well looked after, and one employee even took the time to comfort me when I got upset, I constantly had fresh drinks made available to me. Thank you Lynhales staff for taking good care of my beautiful Nan, I am hoping to get up again very soon.

We are extremly happy with all aspects of my fathers care. He was moved here from another care home and the care he receives here is so much better. They cater for dementia which the previous care home didn't and he is so much calmer and happier.
The staff are all quiet and attentive and handle any
difficult situations calmly.

This lovely setting makes a big difference to the feeling of the home. My ex-husband was very pleased to have been taken to the post office to buy stamps, postcards, etc. He feels that the staff are kind and do listen to him. He likes his room which is bright and clean and feels he is well cared for.

My husband came to Lynhales after a stay in hospital. At Lynhales he was treated with such care, love and dignity. He was supervised and helped to wash and dress, infinite patience was shown. I know this because I spent 8 hours a day with him. Supporting and walking outside when weather permits and
inside when not. The staff never complained and were happy and accommodating. In his last 6 weeks, he was bedbound but a steady stream of 'visitors' (staff) came to see him and chat even though he no longer responded. Coffee and tea flowed on demand for me! The last 3 days of his life I only went home for an hour in the morning while the staff cleaned and did his daily care. I almost became a permanent fixture! But sympathy and love flowed around us both. I will always be grateful that his last months were in such a happy environment with such knowledgeable staff. Parkinson's and Dementia are such horrible illnesses. Thanks to Lynhales we felt safe.

Nan was always well looked after, she was always presentable and you could see the love and care she was given from the nurses. During Covid, they protected her and gave regular updates to us as a family. Thank you for looking after her for 4 years, we would 100% recommend the care home.

I should preface this review by saying I almost *never* give reviews. But Lynhales Hall Nursing Home is spectacular. Dad spent the last months of his life there; and died there. The Nurses, Caring Staff, Activities Co-ordinators, Cleaners, Chefs and kitchen staff, Laundry Staff.....they are all absolutely
superb and treated Dad with such care, love and respect. I recommend Lynhales Hall Nursing Home unreservedly.


Sadly the same cannot be said of the staff with whom I came into contact at Rotherwood Healthcare ('Head Office' - based in Loughborough, I believe). The staff were *not* caring and were brusque and occasionally quite rude. I am very sad to say that when I let them know that Dad had passed away, I did not receive any condolences and, in fact, my last email went unanswered, to this day.


However, despite this, I was so very happy with Lynhales Hall Nursing Home and their amazing staff, that the poor service from 'Head Office' was overshadowed by the superb care from Lynhales.
