I cannot fault the care my mother revived at St John's nursing home. My mother was a resident for 16 months. All of the staff are so caring & have the residents happiness & safety at heart.
St John's has a lovely friendly welcoming feel to it. They have twice daily activities that the residents are encouraged to take part in. My mother partially enjoyed the crafting sessions they would run.

I would recommend St John's nursing home.

Having peace of mind, knowing that your loved one is safe, secure, well looked after and entertained 24/7 has got to be the ultimate priority with no exception. The level of care, love, compassion and commitment at St John's Court from every single staff member whether it be a general cleaner, helping hand, qualified nurse or higher qualified personnel through to management is without a doubt first class.

We enjoyed nearly five years of the same love and devotion from every member of staff when our mom was in residency. The communication with regular up to date information on mom's health and general day to day activities/care needs was exceptional. The regular day trips and/or entertainment provided is wonderful. Mom was entertained and looked after like a member of the family would have done. In many respects, St John became our extended family. What a wonderful and most fitting place for our mom to complete her final days. I can't begin to tell you what a fabulous place this is.

Mum has been at St Johns Court for 6 years. It is lovely and she's had great care. Under new management I have felt and seen mum come to life as she is now being taken to the lounge and dining room (she was in her room for most of the last few day). I'm delighted. The whole team is fantastic!

Reply from Emily James, Manager at St John's Court Nursing Home

Mum became a resident after a series of falls and we all wanted the reassurance that help was at hand. She was a critical customer and the team were all highly regarded by he. In my experience the staff are excellent and work hard to support the resident.

My Mother was a resident at St John's Court NH.
She has sadly passed away now.
On behalf of her and my experience of St John's, I would now like to give a review.
From the time Mom was admitted 18 months earlier she immediately fell in love with the place.
She had had a bad experience previously and was naturally anxious about her new home.
She needn't have been as she literally thrived within the first few weeks and months.
Her social life within the home with its fantastic entertainment dept was simply first class. She was occupied with one thing and another every single day.
The care staff were fantastic. Such a wonderful collection of different personalities.
All of which complimented one another.
The Manager and the Deputy Manager were always so supportive and helpful whenever I needed them or had a query.
My mom sadly passed away on October 11th.

I know she had the best year ever and will be grateful to St John's eternally for this.

Mom was being very well looked after - her room was always immaculate and her clothes. The staff were very attentive and interactive - and spoke up regarding concerns related to how she was and if consideration was needed in changing medication to support her well-being. Always kept up to date regarding changes in environment or activities/outings and lovely photos printed off. Cannot thank all the team enough for the care and support they provide.

Mom has been in St John’s since March. None of the family wanted her to have to be moved away from home, especially Dad but you have to realise when the time has come. You have to do your research and visit places to get a feel for the right place for your relative. St John’s was definitely the right place for mom. Warm, welcoming, lovely friendly staff who love Mom and we see the same staff who tell us how she’s been on a day-to-day basis. Mom has extensive needs, she is unable to walk and has dementia. We can see she’s settled well and is happy in her new home.

Reply from Keren Wilkinson, Chief Executive Officer at St John's Court Nursing Home

Thank you for your valued review, It's lovely to hear that your Mom is being well cared for and that you are glad you chose St John's. I see that we have not scored well on a couple of areas and I will ask the manager or deputy manager to follow up with you on these areas to see how we can improve.

Mum is content despite her dementia which makes her not always easy to deal with. She is kept clean by caring staff. The nursing staff are excellent and I’m kept in touch with important issues. Unfortunately, she’s not able to enjoy the activities due to her dementia.

My dad stayed at St John's for over 8 years until he passed in September 2023.

I always found St John's care to be very good and would recommend it to other people. My dad was very happy here and did not wish to move.

I chose this home because I had received very positive reports about it from people who had relatives staying here. It is near to where I live, and I am able to visit at any time without an appointment. I have found that all the staff are very friendly and helpful, and I know that my uncle does also.

The food is good, and the staff are quite flexible as to when it is served, so if I am visiting, they are prepared to wait. The home is kept very clean and tidy, and visitors are made to feel welcome.

Great staff who are very caring, always trying to encourage my Mum to join in with the many activities they do - not the easiest of jobs when dealing with dementia patients. Mum is happy, well cared for and safe at St John's.

The staff are amazing at the home and really care about the residents, especially the activities team! They plan and execute brilliant days and activities. My Dad is always happy and taken care of!

Staff turnover is a worry and the amount of staff on the floor. Some lovely staff have left and there doesn’t seem to be enough.

The level of care my father receives is generally excellent. Staff are kind, efficient and caring. My mother was a resident for over ten years until two years ago, which is why we chose St John's for my father. Many of the staff are the same who looked after my mother, which is very reassuring.

The nursing staff are all excellent and provide plentiful and meaningful updates on my father's overall condition.

What a fantastic place for my mother to be in. She now has a life full of activities and is well cared for. This is the best decision we made rather than her struggling in her own home with indifferent care.

Our brother is very well cared for at St John's Court Nursing Home. He is very happy there. He enjoys the food provided and likes his carers.
Any issues have been listened to and addressed.
The activities team are amazing and has encouraged our brother to participate in games, arts and crafts, films and outings, which have maximised his enjoyment of living there.

His family are very happy to see him enjoying his latter years so much.
