The managers and staff at the Old Vicarage are fantastic and could not have done more to make the respite care stay welcoming and comfortable for my parents, even freshly redecorating a double room at short notice for them. It's been so reassuring to know that, during their stay, they have been treated with high standards of care and friendliness. They have particularly enjoyed the lovely meals. Thank you - I'm very grateful.

Staff extremely welcoming and very obliging. Amenities eg. hairdresser, nails polished very good. My sister has settled very well and appears to get on well with everyone. They have various activities, music being my sisters favourite, and this happens at various times in the month. It is a pleasure to visit The Old Vicarage.

My dad was skin and bones when he arrived at The Old Vicarage. They nursed him back to health with good food, love & attention. Not a day goes by without him laughing and smiling with the staff. The whole building is clean & kept tidy. Staff have a lovely rapport with residents & their families. There is entertainment on weekdays, and residents are moved around regularly to mix & socialise with one another. The staff & management are a fabulous team, they genuinely care about their residents.

I honestly can't speak highly enough about the nursing home - everybody is very welcoming and friendly from the moment you enter the building until you are leaving. The staff are absolutely lovely towards my mum. The care and support my mum gets is amazing from the management team and all staff. The cleanliness of my mum's room is always excellent.

My dad has been a resident for just under 12 months. He has settled in really well, something I was apprehensive about. The staff are always welcoming and many go over and above to make each resident feel heard and part of what is going on.

The rooms are comfortable and we have been able to take Dad's personal items to make it more comfortable. I would recommend The Old Vicarage to anyone in need of residential care.

My mum has been at The Old Vicarage for around 6 months.
I'm writing this review because I just saw the review from the past I just wanted to say there are new owners and managers and chefs etc.
The home is fantastic. Always improving The Old Vicarage looks after my mum 100%. My mum loves it there, my mum thinks it's her home now and is looked after 100%. We can go there anytime and take our nugget/dog/ to see her at any time: they are so approachable and nothing is too much trouble.

I can go on but will stop there just wanted to let everyone know how happy we are.

During his 4 month stay my husband has been helped to settle into the home. The carers have been attentive and kept him tidy and medication has been administered as prescribed by a doctor. At night, one of the staff, on occasion, has been less than patient with his needs. This has been unfortunate as the other staff are very kind. Reception is always welcoming and helpful.

The overall care given to my wife is good. Certain times I have to seek assistance in maintaining she does not wet herself, this seems to be when certain staff are on duty. I don't get any information on what she requires ie soap, shampoo or any clothing she needs. Medical wise the response is excellent. I have asked that when soup is offered brown bread is offered, can I please ask that such bread is available, if not then I am informed and I will bring some brown bread for the soup.

My granny really enjoys being here. She likes how lovable and well-looked after she is, everyone made her feel so welcomed when she arrived. There's lots to do, like sit in the garden, lots of activities such as pool table, tennis and much more. The food here is really good and carers are lovely and very chatty.

Staff are always friendly and helpful, my aunt speaks highly of all of them, all her needs are met, she loves the food and her room and enjoys the activities.

For visitors, parking can be a problem, the entrance to the home is very worn, large potholes could damage your car.
