The staff are friendly and professional with a team leader who genuinely cares about her residents' well-being and also helps at busy times, to feed and care for the residents. My personal experience is that all the Old Vicarage staff are helpful and friendly, taking the time to chat to and reassure residents when required.

The care staff and office staff are very helpful and friendly. Nothing too much trouble. All measures were carried out with Covid regulations on every visit. Good organisation for visiting times. Made my Aunt as comfortable as possible.

During our visit, all members of staff are welcoming and helpful. Teamwork appears paramount with good leadership. My Mother always appears well cared for, her rapport with all staff clearly demonstrates that despite her Dementia she feels safe and content. As a family, we feel confident in The Old Vicarage Nursing home and members of the staff/team. Thank you.

I find that the staff are very helpful and caring. My mother always looks clean and
comfortable.
She has a beautiful room and when I visit I often find they have put her radio on for her tuned in to Classic FM, which is her favourite station.
As my mother seems to be nearing the end of her life she is frail and sometimes confused but there is a sense of peace.

This is a great comfort to me.

Overall, good standard of care. Due to staff shortages, sometimes personal care is lacking and stimulation for residents. No person is currently responsible for activities.

My nan was looked after so well. The staff were always very kind and helpful to my nan and to myself and my mum. When I visited the home, it was beautiful, clean and light, making it feel very airy. My nan was 100 while a resident and they made such an effort to make her birthday special and it was. We are really grateful for all the help and support they gave my nan and us. I would recommend this nursing home to anyone. Thank you again from myself and my mum.

My grandmother and grandfather were admitted together in 2017 after a prolonged period of ill health and declining ability to care for themselves.
The staff made every effort to enable them to spend time with each other, even ensuring their rooms were adjoining.
Since my grandfather passed, my grandmother has received excellent care and has formed strong friendships with the staff, many of whom have worked at The Vicarage for years.
She is happy in herself, despite a mental decline, and her room is clean and has an outlook over the garden.
Throughout the pandemic, I have had as much access and contact as was legally possible, and her every need has been met.

My only observation would be a better method of communication between the home and the resident's families, ie a regular update/email/messaging system that means we don’t have to continually call and disturb the staff, but we, as relatives, have current information that is easy to access.

Mum has been cared for at The Old Vicarage for almost three years. She has been very well cared for; the staff are terrific with all the residents. It’s a very welcoming home, and I always come away happy and relieved that Mum is happy and well looked after.

Overall Experience

When my sister was first admitted into the Old Vicarage, it was a very stressful time for all members of the family. Within a very short time, my sister had settled really well; the staff engaged with her immediately and delivered a standard of care which made us all feel confident that our sister was being cared for exactly how we wanted. The home has a lovely, friendly atmosphere, staff are always approachable, and most importantly, the residents always look happy!

Overall Experience
My aunt has been a resident of The Old Vicarage for over two years now, and when we were able to visit, I have always been very impressed with how well maintained the home is. It is always immaculate and extremely clean throughout. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and it’s lovely to see warm and caring interactions with the residents. There is a real homely feel, which is lovely and so important for my aunt and other residents well-being.

This is a very professionally run care home, and even though the most challenging of recent times with Covid-19, it has been run so well. The manager has gone above and beyond to ensure the care of the residents remained the priority.

My aunt is a resident at The Old Vicarage. She has settled in so well due to the excellent care she receives! She always looks clean and tidy, and the home is immaculate and well presented. There is always a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Staff and management go above and beyond their job roles for my aunt and the other residents. Not only have they made my aunt feel part of one big family, but also made me feel comfortable when visiting.
