My sister is in Hatton Court but to try and talk to her on the telephone is usually a problem i.e. sorry you have come on the landline, we are having problems with the mobiles at the moment or sorry all the mobiles are busy at the moment. I bought a mobile phone off of Amazon and had it delivered to
my sister so she had her own phone. Then I am told it's switched off because she doesn't know how to use it. I have reported the problem previously, the answer was we will get the phones sorted so on Saturday 24th July at 6.30pm I phoned Hatton Court to talk to my sister. The person on duty says sorry we are having problems with the mobiles. I don't think the problem is with the mobiles. I have names of the people who come up with the same excuses, who I am not allowed to name on your website. Also, we gave her her spectacles when we visited her and now they have gone missing along with her hearing aids and various items of clothing.

My Mother was a resident at Hatton Court from May to December 2019. She was treated well and all the staff did a very good job during her stay. I can not recommend this place enough. Well done to all.

I was dreading my mother having to go to a nursing home, but Hatton Court has totally put my mind at ease. The cleanliness and the care that my bedridden mother receives is outstanding. For me the staff are pleasant, humorous, caring to both the residents and visitors and very welcoming. I cannot find
one fault with this wonderful place.

My grandma was a resident at the home for a few months until she passed away. She was always very happy and well looked after, even after she was sent home for a short period of time she asked every day to return.
The facilities are very clean and welcoming and the staff are always at hand to help
with any needs, they are a massive credit and part of why this facility is where she felt comfortable and well taken care of in her last few months. We as a family couldn’t have asked for anything more. I would recommend Hatton Court to anybody who is looking for this extra support as from my experience it was outstanding.

The most professional, caring team of people who looked after my mum so well in her final year of life. She was happy and contented and respected by all staff in every way. As a family, we couldn't have chosen a better home where we felt Mum was safe and cared for like their own family and we as a family
were looked after and listened to. I as a daughter would like to thank everyone for everything they did when Mum was here and have done since she has passed away. I am still welcome to go in and chat today which is very comforting.

I have had very good care in all departments.
Go on trips with a mobile trolley with things to buy. A very friendly place to be. One of th best homes in Telford.
When I came into the home, I was screwed up like an old lady, they made me feel normal again. We have physio when needed.

My relative, who has Alzheimers Disease, has lived at Hatton Court for six years. The care, consideration, accommodation, facilities, activities (including regular trips out), and the food (personally verified) are outstanding; and following the recent refurbishment a warm and homely environment has
been created. Visitors are made welcome anytime and tea/coffee and biscuits are available if required. Regular residents/relatives meetings and the periodical newsletter keeps us informed of what's going on and with it the opportunity to join in. The current managers are still settling in but given their previous achievements the improvements required in the recent CQC report are well within their reach.

The care home is in the process of appointing a new manager/manageress, hopefully a more experienced one that the previous manager. He was a very polite, friendly, approachable man but I felt not really management material. Not enough staff on at times, which makes carers always too busy and in a rush,
not enough time to chat and get involved with the residents, which I feel is as important as doing the physical side of caring. Staff on the whole are polite and friendly. Due to under staffing, residents call bells which can take a long time to be answered. On the whole, I would recommend this home to other people. A clean, welcoming, comfortable place.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.025)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.025) out of 10 for Hatton Court Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.708 for Hatton Court Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (70 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.708
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.317 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hatton Court Nursing Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.65
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.667
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
