Up until here recent passing, my mum lived at Tall Oaks Care Home for three and a half years. During that time the staff team made my mum, who was living with vascular dementia, feel safe, supported and, in many cases, loved. The staff saw and celebrated the essence of my mum's personality.
Mum enjoyed good home-cooked food (she herself was once a brilliant cook, so this was something that felt especially important to us), and in the past couple of years in particular there has been a welcome renewed focus on providing enriching activities and outings for residents. My mum loved having the Davenport Sisters come and sing for them in particular.
As a family, we felt supported by the team too, most notably during mum's final week when it was clear that her health was deteriorating. We appreciated being able to stay there with her and the patience and support that the team showed as very many visitors came to see mum for the last time.

We are so very grateful for the Tall Oaks team.

I'm the neice of a resident Tall Oaks. This was my first visit after my uncle was moved here on new years eve 2025. I was so impressed with mainly how much happier my uncle is now than when he was at home in his own. He loves living in the home. He's so happy. I was also impressed with how attentive the staff are with the residents. They are such lovely people and nothing is too much for them when I asked questions. There is a fantastic feeling in the home, a feeling of tranquility and calmness. It's the best home ive ever been in.

Thank you so much. I am happy my uncle is being looked after we'll and happy and safe.

My aunt went to Tall Oaks for emergency respite care and ended up staying for 10 weeks. I cannot thank the staff enough for the kindness shown and care given to my aunt. Unfortunately no family live nearby, so we were unable to visit regularly and we will be forever grateful to all at Tall Oaks for looking after our much loved aunt so well. As an emergency admission, Tall Oaks was not in my aunt's local area so we reluctantly moved her to a care home nearer her friends.

I am very pleased with my father's care, he seems to like it in there, no complaints off him. He enjoys his food, they do the food that he likes, personal hygiene is good, the only thing which could be improved is his bedroom, it does need decorating. Otherwise everything is quite good.

On arrival at Tall Oaks Care Home, all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. My friend has been a family friend since I was a baby, like a second mother. She has been very independent all her life so much find it hard to be in the position she is in. When I visit she seems calm and peaceful and if I call for help for her it is readily there. I cannot comment on the ratings not selected as I don't know the answers. Thank you.

All the workers at Tall Oaks Care Home work together as a team, with the welfare of their residents at the end of their thoughts. The meals are fantastic and activities are plentiful for some and slower things for others. The management has brilliant ownership of all things going on in the home, only eager to help if and when asked. My wife is having a nice stay in the home now she is used to the staff and their ways.

My husband was in the home for a number of months, he had severe health conditions and went to Tall Oaks for end-of-life care. He was treated with dignity and respect and the care team made myself and other family members very welcome to the home, nothing was ever too much trouble. My husband was treated with care and compassion throughout his stay at the home. The home manager was always available to speak with us whenever we had questions and she kept us fully informed of what was going on. The staff work extremely hard and the home was always clean and tidy with plenty of activities for the residents to get involved in. Thank you, Tall Oaks.

Mum moved to Tall Oaks Care Home in June after a stay in hospital. She was quickly moved to a room downstairs which was my request. Care for Mum is fabulous, the room is pleasant, the carers are friendly, supportive and accommodating. The manager is very helpful and listens to any problems we have. Very clean and thoroughly recommended.

During the recent Covid-19 pandemic, the staff at my mothers care home have been nothing short of wonderful in the way they have continued to care and look after all the residents. The key word here is care because they truly do. Also, they kept me informed of how my mother was when she contacted Covid-19, which was a very worrying time for me. They have also managed very well with all the flow tests at the door before the visit can take place. Wonderful care home run by wonderful people.

Buster Job Title:Chief Security OfficerJoined: 2021

Buster is a very much loved and well-known character at Tall Oaks to all residents and families. He is part of our family here. You may see Buster moving around the home, greeting families at reception or lying in the lounge with residents.

Pet therapy in care homes can increase social interaction, not just with the animals but also between other residents. It gives residents something to look forward to, comment on and discuss together in a way that often helps to break down barriers.

Interacting with pet animals can unlock hidden memories of cats, dogs and other creatures that may have been part of the lives of elderly residents in the past. Even when these former encounters can’t be put into words, their joy can often be seen in participants’ faces.

I have worked in care for an incredible 39 years, beginning my journey as a Care Assistant. Caring for others has always been at the heart of what I do, and it continues to be a role that brings me pride and purpose every single day.

I have been part of the Careconcepts care home family for 11½ years, and during that time I have seen the home grow into a warm, welcoming place where residents and staff feel valued and supported.

What I love most about being a Care Home Manager is the daily interaction with our residents and team. Spending time with people, listening, supporting, and ensuring we deliver high-quality care in a truly homely environment is what makes each day rewarding.

One of the achievements I am most proud of is becoming a Care Home Manager at just 27 years old, a milestone that reflects my long-standing commitment to care and professional development.

What excites me most about managing Tall Oaks is getting to know our residents, relatives, and team, and building strong, trusted relationships that help everyone feel safe, happy, and at home.
