From the first day we went to visit Bromson Hill, we were greeted by friendly faces. The staff seem to be happy in their work and are willing to sort any problems there may be. There is a family atmosphere about the place which is good. The food is freshly cooked and looks appetising. The care is very good and my mum is treated well and with dignity. On each visit, I walk away safe in the knowledge she is well cared for.
My mother was a resident here after being discharged from a hospice. The manager and staff were extremely friendly to myself and my family. My mother was well cared for in the last few weeks of her life. I am so pleased we chose Bromson Hill.
Dear Steven, thank you very much for the feedback which we will pass on to the staff.
However, there were inevitable difficulties with night time toileting and there could have been more activities organised.
There should have been some form of appropriate exercise, art therapy, sing-a-long music with a musician etc.
We chose Bromson Hill because my father-in-law had excellent care there 3 years ago and the home has a very good reputation within the area. The staff are extremely friendly and always have time for the residents. My husband visited daily for 20 months with his father and my cousin has daily visitors now so it's not a false welcome its a daily, friendly one. My cousin enjoys all his meals and the room is adequate for his needs.
My mother was at Bromson Hill from July 2018 till her death in December 2018. I have been very happy with the all-round treatment and conditions at the care home spent the last part of her life. I think the care/support and how mum was treated were excellent, and she certainly responded incredibly positively to being at this care home. I had over the year and a half she was there, no real complaints, and can only thank everyone at the home for looking after mum so well.
My mother has been a resident of Bromson Hill nursing home after being discharged from a hospice. The individualised care she has received from staff has improved her quality of life. Individualised care is not only being given by nursing staff/care workers, it encompasses all members of staff employed by Bromson Hill. Not only is the friendly, individual attention given to my mother but also to all her visitors.
As a visitor, I am made welcome, even the dog!
My father sadly passed away in Bromson Hill and I was kept informed at all stages, everyone was very caring towards myself and family and it was very dignified.
Thank you to all at Bromson Hill.
My Gran spent 2 weeks here for some respite having become low and weak following a mild illness. She wanted the security of a nursing home to get better. The Assistant Manager came out the day I enquired to assess her needs - and was very warm, caring and attentive and she moved in the next day - the Assistant Manager came in despite it being her day off to ensure she was welcomed.
The room was clean, light and airy with a large ensuite shower room, plenty of space for a chair and television, lovely views over rolling countryside.
My Gran chose not to participate in activities - but they seemed a good variety of things going on when I visited.
Staff were always friendly, and attentive
My Gran almost always picks fault with everything - especially food - but she was highly complimentary of the menu provided. She actually didn't want to leave - without doubt as and when she needs full-time care - this will be our first port of call.
The rooms (19) needs a telephone. The phone carried in had a terrible reception and was useless. No comment on the activities as the person responsible did not visit my mother to discuss.
Living away this and slowness to respond to bell requests for assisted toilet visits were only criticism.
Appreciate the comments and feedback although we do not provide telephones in each room.
Inside the rooms are individual, my Father's was upstairs, lift available. The changing views over the seasons was a delight.
My Dad liked his door left open, staff were often walking by offering a smile and a wave, and tending to his needs. It was a lovely place to visit for a cuppa and a chat. A place of comfort for residents, due to the skill and dedication of the management and staff.
Excellent. No complaints.
When the family visit my mother she is always happy. She is always very clean and her clothes are also kept very clean. The home is always very welcoming and friendly as are all the staff.
My uncle is very happy with the level of care he receives. The care workers all do a great job. The standard of the food is excellent. My uncle originally went in reluctantly as the family member he was staying with was ill and couldn't cope, and he now says he is really happy there and would not want to leave.
Excellent home. I can recommend to other people.
The care she received as regards her personal hygiene and medication was extremely good as she was bedridden, the family could not fault this.
Overall the management and staff catered to my mother's needs to make her final week as comfortable and caring as possible. A big thank you to you all.
Simply to say that we were lucky as a family to find, and secure a room, for my father who had already been ill for some months and most unlikely to realise improvement in his health. All the important factors - cleanliness, pleasant and helpful staff, good food - are extremely acceptable. Should you have need of such support, Bromson Hill would very likely be a good solution.
