All I can say is what a wonderful nursing home. I am. really happy with the care they provided. When I go in everyday to visit my father the staff are extremely helpful and do an amazing job making sure the residents are safe and they treat them all with dignity and kindness. Leanne and Julie and all members of staff are very approachable and professional at what they all do.The residents are there main priority which is what you want to see. If you ever have any concerns they are dealt with in a most efficient and professional manner. The residents all seem to be busy doing activities with Sara the activity coordinator who involves everyone which is great to see. Nothing is to much trouble for the maintenance staff if we ever need help with putting aTV on the wall or door hangers up. I thank you all for making such a traumatic experience (Dad having to go into nursing care ) such a positive and supportive experience. I would definitely recommend The Vale your doing fantastic.
Our team works hard every day to ensure residents feel safe, respected, and well cared for, so your kind words...
I was disappointed, if not disgusted to find that the resident cats had been removed on the whim of one complaint. The therapeutic effect of pets on mental health especially in the aged population is well documented and I feel that to deprive your residents of this opportunity for interaction and comfort is nothing short of disgraceful. I sincerely hope that the person who was petty enough to make this complaint is thoroughly ashamed of themselves.
The decision to remove the resident cats was not taken lightly. It followed a formal health and safety review after a...
I was in hospital for two weeks & l don't remember going in. My sister said l nearly died. They now have a clinical nurse called Jane which is better. My lens from my broken glasses were saved in the glasses case but was taken away & can't be found so Leanne said said because they weren't bought from the visiting opticians, they won't be replaced which is unfair.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. We truly appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear your thoughts on the recent changes at The Vale Care Home.
Im pleased to let you know that your lenses have been found and have now been handed to you personally....
Vale Care Centre's strength is its winning team which I call the 'Angels of Mercy.' Dedicated and passionate team players with a vocational calling. It's reassuring that my Sister is in such capable and caring hands. From recognising requirements by placing her in a bigger room appropriate for her needs and understanding her as a person.
Unfortunately, I cannot give 5 stars as I cannot say the same about all staff.
The ladies in the office are welcoming, supportive and informative and the activities coordinator always wears a smile.
Far too often, when we visit several members of staff are sat in the dining area either on the floor or round the table, whilst residents' buzzers are on red. I'd spoken to the previous manager and it seems standards have not improved.
We do hope with a new manager coming into the home, job roles and expectations will be revisited and the staff that do work hard, are thanked. It would be a shame to lose the valued team members.
Please feel free to get in touch. My family member is very poorly and deserves the very best nursing and care.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate your kind words about our nurse, the office team, and our activities coordinator. It's heartening to know that their professionalism, warmth, and dedication have made a positive impact on your family's experience. We will...
Visited my father who is very demented, the building is clean and doesn't smell. The staff are all polite, personable and helpful. They have always presented in this way. My father's bedroom is clean, he was cleanly dressed. Our visit was not announced. The carers were totally appropriate in their interactions with my father and myself.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback following your unannounced visit. We're truly pleased to hear that you found the environment clean and welcoming, and that our team demonstrated kindness, professionalism, and care in their interactions with both your father and...
We as a family have found the care home very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble, our mum has made friends, and been able to feel part of a family. The only negatives I have are the home really needs upgrading it's very tired looking, also displaying menus they're not always on display personally I think picture menus are a fantastic idea especially for dementia residents. The manager is lovely and comes and chats quite often which I find nice.
Thank you for you feedback, we are currently working to improve the home 's dcor etc, we have an improvement plan in place. our menu's are on the board upstairs with a typed version and had written daily on the white board and downstairs is the same, we have picture menu's already in place, we put...
Currently my dad resides at the vale. He needs full care as his body no longer functions due to his Parkinson's and other Parkinson related illnesses. However, he is sound of mind, enjoys being grumpy, says what he thinks and quite stubborn at times too! But the staff understand that, don't take offence and actually take the time to talk him round! They bend over backwards trying to make his meals varied despite his strict soft food diet and the chef even sits and goes through menus with him.
They have regular entertainment and activities, celebrations and events. This week he had his birthday and they spoilt him with a tea party, full decorations and food. It was wonderful.
His room has been freshly decorated and is always clean, the home is always warm and never seems to have a smell (which others can do) nothings too much trouble.
I would definitely recommend and we're so pleased he went on respite there as they gave him the care that made the transition to full care easier
Thank you for your review, this means a lot to us as a team, we will always go above and beyond to ensure our residents and family are happy.
My mam is happy and safe which is priceless to me. She is a bit fed up of the sausages for lunch but they are ok if really well cooked. Her room is clean and tidy, we are still waiting for a second call button in her room. The staff are really caring and friendly and cannot do enough for her. The manager is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and very approachable.
Thank you very much for taking the time to complete a review of our home; your loved one is always involved in choosing what they would like to eat, we also hold residents meeting with the kitchen staff to review the food and make suggestions of what they would like to see on the menu, we have...
Mum has had excellent care despite having alzheimers and being challenging at times. Staff are caring and compassionate from admin domiciliary carers nurses and managers. Her carer particularly has gone above and beyond to make mum comfortable and her family feel welcome and included. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the food is excellent.
Thank you Kate for this lovely review. The colleagues have embedded the values of values of care and this reflects clearly from the outcome. We are happy mum and your experiences at The Vale have been very good.
I came in for 2 weeks respite and stayed for 3 the manager is lovely nothing too much trouble. The staff are fantastic they make you feel very welcome and nothing too much trouble for them. It's just like being at home, the rooms are cleaned every day and the dinner cook is fantastic. You have home-cooked meals every day and they cater for your needs to like. I have and will be coming back and hoping to stay for good and they say I can help with the entertainment side of things which I will look forward to so I can't wait till February.
We have now filled the activities with a more robust table following the input from the other residents and now the position is fully filled.
It will be a great pleasure having you work alongside our activities coordinators. See you in February!
I’ve rated this care home 1 star. My dad stayed in this care home for a two-week respite so my mum could have a rest, but we ended up taking him out after 9 days. We told the staff about my dad's needs on many occasions but we were concerned on each visit about his care. My dad has Parkinson’s and dementia. He needs help with everything. We understand that there are other residents with needs but my dad's basic needs we’re not carried out. When we took him home that morning, he was confused, agitated, and in some pain in his foot. We ended up having to ring his GP and they diagnosed cellulitis and prescribed him antibiotics as it can be a very serious condition. If we had left him any longer, goodness knows what outcome it would have been. To say we are furious is an understatement. Now he’s back home he has deteriorated so much and he's so confused. There is no way we would recommend this care home.
Sorry to hear you feel you had a bad experience at The Vale care home. If you wish to discuss further any issues that you had then please do not hesitate to contact the management team.
My sister went into The Vale Care Home in December 2020, and she was not very well at all. I've spoken to her every week on the phone, and I noticed a difference in how settled she was. I eventually got to see her last week, and I was shocked to see how well and happy she was. The Vale Care Home staff are amazing, and the manager goes out of her way to make sure your happy and your family member gets everything they need, so thank you to all at The Vale for giving me back my sister, can't thank you enough.
I have nothing but praise for all your staff. I have watched the kindness shown to the residents. Thank you so much for everything you have done for my husband.
Thank you, June, we always appreciate individuals taking the time to give their feedback and we are very pleased to hear that your experience at The Vale Care Home was so positive. All of our staff are committed to providing the best possible care experience for all of our residents and it is very rewarding to have their efforts recognised.
The staff at the Vale overall are absolutely lovely, very professional, caring and genuine people.
Higher management, however, including that who oversees facilities - is dreadful, almost comically tragic.
My mother has been 3 times, 1st time brilliant, last 2 visits management were unable to plan simple tasks to make sure my mothers care needs are met - that is the bare minimum you are there to provide. I will not go into details, but on the 2nd occasion we didn't leave my mum, we took her straight back home, didn't even get her bags out of the car.
3rd occasion, still not right, my mother stayed for a few days and we took her home early, she now vows to never return. But again she loved the staff.
I genuinely feel sorry for the staff that put the hours in, and of course the patients, they deserve better.
Thank you, Carlton, for taking the time to leave us your feedback regarding The Vale Care Home. All of the staff are committed to providing the best possible care experience for all of our residents and we are disappointed to hear that you feel this has not happened in your case. We appreciate you...
An extremely well run care home. Staff are always pleasant and polite. The residents are always well dressed and well looked after and always try to anticipate their needs. The home itself is generally clean and tidy and the domestic staff are always on hand for a chat with the residents and put a smile on their faces. The staff do their best under pressure when short staffed. The only negative is that there are always agency nurses on duty during the day with no resident nurse.
Thank you for sharing your recent experience of our home. We are pleased that it has been so positive and look forward to seeing you again soon. Have a fantastic day.
I'm happy with his care. He joins in activities when he can.
