Review of Woodview Care Home from Lorna T (Sister of Resident) published on 16 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My brother entered the home under the previous owners the new owners have worked very hard to improve the background systems and processes needed to make the care provided look effortless. There's always something that you can pick up on, but I've seen a lot worse.

Recent introduction of a structured regular entertainments program, instead of random visits is appreciated although anything like this needs input from the residents relatives to succeed long-term.

Review of The Cedars and Larches Care Home from Joanne R (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Dad moved from hospital directly to Cedars and immediately we could see the difference in the standard and level of care he was receiving, after 11 weeks he was frail and in need of TLC, he received this at Cedars The carers without exception were all absolutely wonderful and he became very close to several of them. Thank you to Yvonne and all of the team for everything you did for our Dad, he wasn't with you very long but he spoke highly of you all when we were with him and how kind you all were. Dad always looked really smart his clothes laundered beautifully. There are to many carers to mention by name and i wouldn't want to leave any of you out, but you know who you are.

We will always remember the two months he was in Cedars and thank you all for everything. In his final few days, it was clear how much he was also respected and the steady trickle of carers coming to see him and check on us was beautiful, and so appreciated, thank you so much.

Reply from Kris Webster, Manager at The Cedars and Larches Care Home

Review of Doulton Court Care Home from E R (Wife of Resident) published on 11 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

My husband moved in last week and has settled in very quickly. All the family and friends that have visited this week have commented on how clean and airy the home feels. The staff quickly got to know my husband's care plan and medications were in place swiftly. The staff are all very friendly and approachable. The food is excellent - all home-cooked and healthy but tasty!

All I can say is what a wonderful nursing home. I am. really happy with the care they provided. When I go in everyday to visit my father the staff are extremely helpful and do an amazing job making sure the residents are safe and they treat them all with dignity and kindness. Leanne and Julie and all members of staff are very approachable and professional at what they all do.The residents are there main priority which is what you want to see. If you ever have any concerns they are dealt with in a most efficient and professional manner. The residents all seem to be busy doing activities with Sara the activity coordinator who involves everyone which is great to see. Nothing is to much trouble for the maintenance staff if we ever need help with putting aTV on the wall or door hangers up. I thank you all for making such a traumatic experience (Dad having to go into nursing care ) such a positive and supportive experience. I would definitely recommend The Vale your doing fantastic.

Review of Aspen Lodge Care Home from Kate W (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My father has been at Aspen Lodge for a year now and I could not have asked for a better level of care for him. Kate and Sam, the managers of the care home, go on this difficult journey with you, they take the time to listen and help on a daily basis. They also remember the seemingly small things like our family's names which really means a lot and shows that they care. The staff are incredible, my dad has lots of challenging behaviors which they handle with ease. They also remember small touches like, my dad loves extra butter on his toast and cream on his porridge, this really puts a smile on my dad's face. My family and I are so so grateful to Aspen Lodge. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a place for their loved ones. Thanks so much to everyone at Aspen Lodge, love the us all

Reply from Katie Gavriliuc, Manager at Aspen Lodge Care Home

Thank you for your amazing feedback, I will share it with the team. It is a privilege to care for your father and to get to know you all as a family. It means a great deal to the whole team that your father and yourselves are happy with the level of care. If there is anything more we can do, we're always here to help.

Review of Ashville from Gareth S (Son of Resident) published on 24 April 2026 Submitted via Website

I can't thank the staff enough for the care and compassion and dignity that they showed my mam in the last few months of her life.
From the moment that she arrived it was clear that she would be in safe and loving hands.
Every member of the team went above and beyond, not just meeting her needs but truly caring for her as a person. They treated her with kindness, patience and respect every single day and always made time for us as a family too, nothing ever felt like it was too much trouble.

Those final weeks meant everything to us and knowing that she was comfortable, supported and surrounded by such warmth gave us real peace of mind during a very difficult time. We will always be grateful for the love and dedication shown to my mam. Thank you for making such a difference when it mattered the most.

Review of The Vale Care Home from R D (Friend of Resident) published on 10 March 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

I was disappointed, if not disgusted to find that the resident cats had been removed on the whim of one complaint. The therapeutic effect of pets on mental health especially in the aged population is well documented and I feel that to deprive your residents of this opportunity for interaction and comfort is nothing short of disgraceful. I sincerely hope that the person who was petty enough to make this complaint is thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

Reply from Sirajali Panjwani, Director at The Vale Care Home

Review of Orchard Lea from Martin L (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 25 February 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother in law was Orchard Lea , initially for assessment from hospital , and then wanted to stay there rather than another home . We had a short list , one of which was Orchard Lea , so agreed for her to stay there .
It was important for us that they could care through to end of life .

The care she received was excellent as her dementia progressed . She made friends in the home and was well cared for until her death . The staff were caring , proactive and professional and sensitive at the end of her life.

My gran was in your care for 2 year 11 months. She first came in and we didn't think she had long left at the time . But all the staff cared for her fed her and made certain she had drinks . She was only on special yoghurt but she kept going. I really can't thank the staff enough for caring for my gran right up until she passed this week .including holding her hand and being with her right at the very end . And then looking after myself to .not only do they care about the residents they care about the family to .

Once again forever greatful .

Review of Wainfleet Care Home from J M (Niece of Resident) published on 2 February 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

My aunt + uncle moved into Wainfleet Care Home in Oct 2025. They have received the most amazing care and affection especially after my aunt passed away in December 2025. I'd like to especially mention the carer - Daniel - who accompanied my uncle to the funeral. It was his day off and he purchased a suit to wear for the day. His care for my uncle that day was so kind, personal and thoughtful. Thank you.

Over the past 2-3 months your staff provided excellent care to my mum who was admitted with several severe pressure sores. Your staff did an amazing job and successfully treated them despite my mums severe infirmity. Sadly she passed away 3 weeks ago due to old age (90). Your staff were so loving to my father who has been her partner for 71 years. I can't thank the carers and management. Even at the funeral several of your staff attended, including Daniel who provided exceptional emotional and caring support. The whole experience was an example to me of your devotion to residents. You have made a true home, from home. A big thank you!

My father was with Paula and her team from January 2025. From the moment he arrived, his needs were met by all the staff. If he didn't want to join in with any activities he didn't have to.
He really enjoyed his time outside helping with gardening activities until such time he was unable to do so.
The care and dignity shown by all the staff, especially towards the end of his life, was exemplary.

We never felt he was just a number, and the amount of staff who popped in to say their goodbyes to my father was heartwarming, and something we will not forget.

I was in hospital for two weeks & l don't remember going in. My sister said l nearly died. They now have a clinical nurse called Jane which is better. My lens from my broken glasses were saved in the glasses case but was taken away & can't be found so Leanne said said because they weren't bought from the visiting opticians, they won't be replaced which is unfair.

Review of Ashville from Geraint H (Son of Resident) published on 5 November 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My father moved in to Ashville at the very end of August 2025. He settled very quickly and was cared for in a professional manor. Dad was suffering with advanced Alzheimer's and life was difficult for him. All of the staff were patient, understanding and so respectful towards him. I cannot fault them in any way. Unfortunately dad is no longer with us but I know that during the final months of his life he could not have been looked after any better or made more comfortable than he was at Ashville. The staff were always wonderful with us as a family also. Nothing was ever too much trouble and were were always greeted with a smile and cup of tea when visiting. If Dad could have chosen a home himself I'm sure he'd have picked Ashville.

Review of Ty Mawr Nursing Home from Jane W (Daughter of Resident) published on 4 November 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mam moved to Ty Mawr in July 2025. The manager turned it around and mam moved in with very short notice.
Mam is bed ridden and needs 24 hr nursing care but she looks well, is very comfortable and well cared for.
The staff are wonderful, friendly and have worked here for many years offering years of experience but more importantly they actually care. They ensure each resident receives the care, compassion and attention they need.
Home cooked meals are delicious and plentiful.
Lots of tea/coffee too.
Ty Mawr have new owners and they are injecting the much needed uplift, improving the character, comfort and familiarity for residents. This work in progress has been thoughtfully planned to please and stimulate the residents and provide that very sense of belonging.
I highly recommend Ty Mawr for respite, residential or nursing care. Your loved one will be very well cared for by this lovely, friendly, caring team.

Ty Mawr was the best decision and they came highly recommended by friends.
