Over the last 4 years the care shown to my mother-in-law has been extremely good. Their care and compassion showed even more when my mother-in-law passed away in November. Not only were the staff considerate to my mother-in-law they helped us through a difficult 3 weeks. We can't thank them enough for
all they have done for our family.

My father was with Paula and her team from January 2025. From the moment he arrived, his needs were met by all the staff. If he didn't want to join in with any activities he didn't have to.
He really enjoyed his time outside helping with gardening activities until such time he was unable to do so.
The care and dignity shown by all the staff, especially towards the end of his life, was exemplary.
We never felt he was just a number, and the amount of staff who popped in to say their goodbyes to my father was heartwarming, and something we will not forget.

I was in hospital for two weeks & l don't remember going in. My sister said l nearly died. They now have a clinical nurse called Jane which is better. My lens from my broken glasses were saved in the glasses case but was taken away & can't be found so Leanne said said because they weren't bought from
the visiting opticians, they won't be replaced which is unfair.

Ashville

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father moved in to Ashville at the very end of August 2025. He settled very quickly and was cared for in a professional manor. Dad was suffering with advanced Alzheimer's and life was difficult for him. All of the staff were patient, understanding and so respectful towards him. I cannot fault them
in any way. Unfortunately dad is no longer with us but I know that during the final months of his life he could not have been looked after any better or made more comfortable than he was at Ashville. The staff were always wonderful with us as a family also. Nothing was ever too much trouble and were were always greeted with a smile and cup of tea when visiting. If Dad could have chosen a home himself I'm sure he'd have picked Ashville.
Reply from SD, Director at AshvilleThank you so much for your heartfelt message. We are truly honoured to have cared for your father during the final months of his life, and deeply moved by your kind words.
It was a privilege to support him through such a difficult time, and were grateful to know that he felt settled, comfortable, and respected here at Ashville. Your recognition of our teams patience, understanding, and professionalism means the world to us. We strive every day to create a home where dignity and compassion are at the heart of everything we do.
We also want to thank you for the warmth and trust you showed us as a family. It was always a pleasure to welcome you, and were glad those small gestures a smile, a cup of tea brought comfort during your visits.
Your father will be remembered fondly by all of us. Knowing that he would have chosen Ashville himself is the highest compliment we could receive.

Ty Mawr Nursing Home

Mam moved to Ty Mawr in July 2025. The manager turned it around and mam moved in with very short notice.
Mam is bed ridden and needs 24 hr nursing care but she looks well, is very comfortable and well cared for.
The staff are wonderful, friendly and have worked here for many years offering years
of experience but more importantly they actually care. They ensure each resident receives the care, compassion and attention they need.
Home cooked meals are delicious and plentiful.
Lots of tea/coffee too.
Ty Mawr have new owners and they are injecting the much needed uplift, improving the character, comfort and familiarity for residents. This work in progress has been thoughtfully planned to please and stimulate the residents and provide that very sense of belonging.
I highly recommend Ty Mawr for respite, residential or nursing care. Your loved one will be very well cared for by this lovely, friendly, caring team.
Ty Mawr was the best decision and they came highly recommended by friends.
Reply from SD, Director at Ty Mawr Nursing HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words about Ty Mawr. We're truly touched to hear how well your mam has settled in and how comfortable and well cared for she feels. It means the world to our team to know that their dedication, warmth, and years of experience are making a real difference to residents and their families.
We're especially grateful for your recognition of the recent improvements and the vision behind them. Creating a homely, uplifting environment where every resident feels a true sense of belonging is at the heart of everything we do.
Your recommendation and trust mean a great deal to us, and we're honoured to have been part of your mam's journey. Thank you again for your support and encouragement - it inspires us every day.

Just wanted to thank ALL staff for their amazing work and care in a very demanding 24 hour job.
Dad has been in the cedars for over 3 years now and both dad and myself feel part of a large family. He has had a couple of challenging weeks with poorly tummy due to his conditions and the staff have gone
above and beyond to look after him as with his dementia doesn't understand.
I can't thank everyone enough for doing a job that not many could face and so so grateful for his care and my peace of mind.
Thank you H

Majority of the carers are excellent and go above the job description to help the residents
but not enough carers at the home to cope with the demands. With more residents entering the home car parking is now becoming a problem. There is not enough equipment (hoists) to cater for the residents which
results in residents waiting for long periods to use the toilet.
Reply from Sirajali Panjwani, Director at Ty Mawr Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're very pleased to hear your kind comments about our carers and the excellent care they provide to our residents.

We would like to reassure you that staffing levels are maintained in line with the dependency levels of our residents, and these remain stable. We also have four hoists and three Stedy aids available to support residents' mobility needs, ensuring that equipment is accessible when required.

Regarding the car park, we acknowledge that parking has become more limited recently. The new owners are actively addressing this issue, and plans are in place to extend the parking area to better accommodate staff, visitors, and residents' families .

Thank you for your patience during these recent changes as well as with the recent improvements we've made to the home - it really means a lot.
We truly appreciate your feedback as it helps us continue to improve our service and environment for everyone at the home.

Our family member's year at Ty Mawr (Cae Hopkin, Abercraf, Swansea) has been overwhelmingly positive. The location is great, with beautiful grounds and easy access.

New ownership and management have brought continuous improvements, actively upgrading the premises with minimal resident disruption.

Staff welcome these positive changes.

The team quality is the most reassuring element. Management and staff are consistently approachable and helpful. The premises are secure (buzz-in, sign-in book) and fully accessible (lift, stairwell).

Facilities are excellent: good-sized rooms, large grounds, and a patio garden. Residents receive at least three nutritious meals daily. Life is vibrant with regular entertainment (singers) and prioritized activities. The home is regularly decorated, creating a warm atmosphere. Care includes organised outside events.

Overall, it's a welcoming environment with compassionate staff and continuous progress.

Reply from Sirajali Panjwani, Director at Ty Mawr Nursing HomeThank you so much for your generous and detailed feedback.
We're truly delighted to hear that your family member's experience at Ty Mawr over the past year has been so positive. Our experience of Ty Mawr has been extremely positive. My father has a fantastic room which he loves, he is very well looked after by the carers and he enjoys the food. We know that he is safe and well looked after, which gives us great peace of mind.
The home is very well run and we can see that the
new owners are spending money to improve the facilities which is really positive.
Whenever we visit, we receive a warm welcome, everyone is extremely friendly. My father has got to know the team really well and is always full of praise for them and the job they do.
My father's move to Ty Mawr as he always tells people, is the best move that he could have made, and we are very grateful to the team for looking after him so well.

Our mother only went in for two weeks respite in November 2024 and within a week decided she wanted to stay as she knew a lot of the other residents and the staff were all very attentive and nice to her. That, in my opinion, says so much about Ty Mawr and its staff no matter how busy they are they always
have time for every resident
Yes the rooms and public areas need updating but this doesn't distract from the care. I understand that all outstanding issues (from previous owners ) are now being addressed.
Reply from Sirajali Panjwani, Director at Ty Mawr Nursing HomeThank you so much for sharing your mother's experience-it means a great deal to us.
We're delighted that she felt so welcomed and comfortable during her respite stay, and even more so that she chose to remain with us. Familiar faces and genuine connections make all the difference, and we're proud that our team's attentiveness and kindness helped her feel at home so quickly.
Your recognition of our staff's dedication-especially in the midst of busy days-is deeply appreciated. We believe every resident deserves time, care, and meaningful engagement, and it's wonderful to hear that this shines through.
We also appreciate your understanding regarding the environment. You're absolutely right-while the decor may need refreshing, it's the quality of care that defines us. That said, we're actively addressing outstanding issues from the previous ownership and working towards improvements that will better reflect the warmth and excellence of our care.
Thank you again for your kind words.

Overall care is good. My father is challenging and all carers seem to be very professional with him and caring. I have no concerns at all.

The building is dated and in need of a revamp, however that does not impact on the care given.

Reply from Sirajali Panjwani, Director at Ty Mawr Nursing HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful feedback.

Impressed by quality of Ty Mawr Care staff. Mam says "like it here cos staff are good as Gold". Domiciliary staff are great, clothes cleaned/returned with cheery smiles & chat. Johnston particularly kind and friendly. Head of care navigated change of ownership in way that minimised stress to residents.
Espy, snr nurse liaises well. What more could I want?
More staff! Whilst daily care needs are covered more time for staff to engage mam in conversations, convince her to participate socially - promoting mental health. Otherwise Mams vascular dementia effects her motivation, she'll stay abed rather than attend morning activities. Staff encourage her but workload is too high to offer help with jigsaws & dementia friendly games which she enjoys. Have discussed strategies e.g. weekly activity sheets with targets walking X steps but not acted on dietary control could reduce weight gain. Glad plans to improve the very tired decor. Needs room with view less depressing and more stimulating.
Reply from Sirajali Panjwani, Director at Ty Mawr Nursing HomeThank you so much for your heartfelt and constructive feedback. We're truly grateful for your kind words about our team at Ty Mawr Care-especially Johnston, Espy, and our Head of Care. It's wonderful to hear your Mam feels so positively about the staff, and we're proud that their warmth and dedication have made such a meaningful impact.
We also appreciate your honest reflections on areas for improvement. You've raised important points about staffing levels, engagement in meaningful activities, and the need for more proactive support around motivation and wellbeing. We recognise how vital these elements are-especially for residents living with vascular dementia-and we're actively reviewing how we can better support personalised engagement, including revisiting the weekly activity sheets and exploring ways to enhance dietary support.Your comments about the environment and decor are also well taken. We're glad you're aware of the plans underway to refresh the space, and our improvements.

Ashville

My mother was only in Ashville care home for 7 months, she was treated with care and respect and the staff were always extremely helpful. They were always friendly and go out of their way to care for mams needs. I was a regular visitor to this home 2/3 times per week and the staff work very hard and
were always there when needed. My mother passed away in July at the home, the staff displayed great kindness and were very respectful ensuring my mother was as comfortable as possible whilst also being there for myself and family, for this we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Woodview Care Home

My mother is in this care home and is waiting to be moved to another home, Woodview care home is a disgrace her care over the last few months has been nothing short of disgusting, we have complained to the cpc who are finally taking some action against this home, recently when travelling to see my mother
we found a resident walking in the village about a mile away who had walked out without anyone noticing, do not trust this home with your loved ones.
Reply from SD, Director at Woodview Care HomeWe're truly sorry to hear of your disappointment and recognize how emotionally difficult this transition has been. We understand your concerns about your mother's relocation, especially given your close bond and daily visits. The decision was made with great care, in consultation with family and clinical professionals, and focused on her evolving needs and wellbeing. While we wish we could have continued caring for her, specialist support was necessary to ensure her safety and quality of life. We respectfully refute the claim that Woodview provided "disgusting" care. Our team consistently delivered compassionate, professional support, with clear documentation to reflect this. We empathize with the emotional toll of such changes, but misrepresenting our service undermines the dedication of our staff. We miss her presence-and yours-and hope she thrives in her new home. We send our warmest wishes for her continued comfort and happiness.

Ashville

I knew from my initial visit to Ashville that we had made the right choice for Mam. She has been a resident since March 2025. On the door it says welcome to our family and I must say there is lovely atmosphere and staff really do make you feel welcome. I am a frequent visitor to the home and I can honestly
say that the carers work so hard. They show utter respect and compassion towards Mam and she trusts them implicitly. They are always polite and courteous and always ask the family if there is anything we need. This level of care is so reassuring when you cannot be there. The home is being constantly cleaned. The team keep the home spotlessly clean. The laundry team keep a constant supply of lovely clean clothes in mam's wardrobe. The bed linen is clean and is changed regularly. A maintenance man is on hand. The food looks nice and of good quality. The ladies always try to accommodate Mam's tastes and needs. GP visits regularly. Ashville is a well managed welcoming care home.
Reply from S D, Director at AshvilleThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt and thoughtful reflection. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Feedback like yours not only uplifts the team but also offers comfort and confidence to other families considering Ashville for their loved ones. Once again thank you so much for the positive feedback.

Vale Care Centre's strength is its winning team which I call the 'Angels of Mercy.' Dedicated and passionate team players with a vocational calling. It's reassuring that my Sister is in such capable and caring hands. From recognising requirements by placing her in a bigger room appropriate for her
needs and understanding her as a person.

My mother has been a resident at the home since July 2024. Since day one I have only had positive experiences in relation to my mother's care. All management, care and nursing staff are always engaging, courteous and professional in all aspects of the care provided. They always fully communicate
and update me on my mother's wellbeing and any issues. The level of dialogue and engagement is excellent. I feel Mam is well monitored 24/7 in terms of all her needs and is provided with exceptional dignified care. They have a full program of activities to keep Mam engaged. They are constantly providing food, snacks and drinks throughout the day. The home is warm and very comfortable with both private and shared communal spaces. There are regular weekly GP visits to the home to address any medical concerns.
I have nothing but positive comments about the home, it was the correct choice for my mother.
