I was disappointed, if not disgusted to find that the resident cats had been removed on the whim of one complaint. The therapeutic effect of pets on mental health especially in the aged population is well documented and I feel that to deprive your residents of this opportunity for interaction and comfort
is nothing short of disgraceful. I sincerely hope that the person who was petty enough to make this complaint is thoroughly ashamed of themselves.
Reply from Sirajali Panjwani, Director at The Vale Care HomeThank you for sharing your concerns. We understand how much comfort and companionship animals can bring, and we appreciate that many residents enjoyed having the cats around. The decision to remove the resident cats was not taken lightly. It followed a formal health and safety review after a complaint raised issues that could have affected the wellbeing of several residents. As a regulated care service, we have a responsibility to ensure that the environment is safe, hygienic, and suitable for everyone who lives here, including those with allergies, compromised immunity, or specific medical needs. Our priority is always the best interests of all residents, and in this instance, the safest course of action was to temporarily remove the cats while we assess alternative ways to offer animal-assisted interaction in a controlled and safe manner. We genuinely value the positive impact pets can have, and we are exploring options that allow residents to continue enjoying therapeutic contact.

My mother in law was Orchard Lea , initially for assessment from hospital , and then wanted to stay there rather than another home . We had a short list , one of which was Orchard Lea , so agreed for her to stay there .
It was important for us that they could care through to end of life .
The care
she received was excellent as her dementia progressed . She made friends in the home and was well cared for until her death . The staff were caring , proactive and professional and sensitive at the end of her life.

My gran was in your care for 2 year 11 months. She first came in and we didn't think she had long left at the time . But all the staff cared for her fed her and made certain she had drinks . She was only on special yoghurt but she kept going. I really can't thank the staff enough for caring for my
gran right up until she passed this week .including holding her hand and being with her right at the very end . And then looking after myself to .not only do they care about the residents they care about the family to .
Once again forever greatful .

My aunt + uncle moved into Wainfleet Care Home in Oct 2025. They have received the most amazing care and affection especially after my aunt passed away in December 2025. I'd like to especially mention the carer - Daniel - who accompanied my uncle to the funeral. It was his day off and he purchased a
suit to wear for the day. His care for my uncle that day was so kind, personal and thoughtful. Thank you.
Reply from Sirajali Panjwani, Director at Wainfleet Care HomeThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt message. We are truly grateful for your kind words. It has been a privilege to care for both your aunt and uncle since their arrival in October. We were deeply saddened by your aunt's passing, and our team has held your family in our thoughts throughout this difficult time. Knowing that your uncle has felt supported and cared for means a great deal to us. Your special mention of Daniel is incredibly touching. His decision to accompany your uncle on his day off, and even purchase a suit for the occasion, reflects the genuine compassion and dedication he brings to his role. We will make sure he knows how much his kindness meant to you and your family. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. Your words remind us why we do what we do every day.

Over the past 2-3 months your staff provided excellent care to my mum who was admitted with several severe pressure sores. Your staff did an amazing job and successfully treated them despite my mums severe infirmity. Sadly she passed away 3 weeks ago due to old age (90). Your staff were so loving to
my father who has been her partner for 71 years. I can't thank the carers and management. Even at the funeral several of your staff attended, including Daniel who provided exceptional emotional and caring support. The whole experience was an example to me of your devotion to residents. You have made a true home, from home. A big thank you!

My Dad is 91 and was admitted at the same time.
Reply from Sirajali Panjwani, Director at Wainfleet Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share such a heartfelt message. Your words mean more to our entire team than you can imagine. It was a privilege to care for your mum over the past few months, and we are deeply saddened by her passing. She was a remarkable lady, and the love shared between your parents over their 71 years together was truly inspiring. We are honoured to have been part of her journey and to have supported your family during such a tender time. Your appreciation for the care team, including Daniel, will be shared with them all. They will be touched to know their support made a difference to you and your father, both during her stay and at the funeral. Creating a true "home from home" is at the heart of what we strive for, and your message reassures us that we are living up to that commitment. We continue to care for your dad with the same dedication and compassion, and we are here for him-and for you-every step of the way.

My father was with Paula and her team from January 2025. From the moment he arrived, his needs were met by all the staff. If he didn't want to join in with any activities he didn't have to.
He really enjoyed his time outside helping with gardening activities until such time he was unable to do so.
The care and dignity shown by all the staff, especially towards the end of his life, was exemplary.
We never felt he was just a number, and the amount of staff who popped in to say their goodbyes to my father was heartwarming, and something we will not forget.

My father moved in to Ashville at the very end of August 2025. He settled very quickly and was cared for in a professional manor. Dad was suffering with advanced Alzheimer's and life was difficult for him. All of the staff were patient, understanding and so respectful towards him. I cannot fault them
in any way. Unfortunately dad is no longer with us but I know that during the final months of his life he could not have been looked after any better or made more comfortable than he was at Ashville. The staff were always wonderful with us as a family also. Nothing was ever too much trouble and were were always greeted with a smile and cup of tea when visiting. If Dad could have chosen a home himself I'm sure he'd have picked Ashville.
Reply from SD, Director at AshvilleThank you so much for your heartfelt message. We are truly honoured to have cared for your father during the final months of his life, and deeply moved by your kind words. It was a privilege to support him through such a difficult time, and were grateful to know that he felt settled, comfortable, and respected here at Ashville. Your recognition of our teams patience, understanding, and professionalism means the world to us. We strive every day to create a home where dignity and compassion are at the heart of everything we do. We also want to thank you for the warmth and trust you showed us as a family. It was always a pleasure to welcome you, and were glad those small gestures a smile, a cup of tea brought comfort during your visits. Your father will be remembered fondly by all of us. Mam moved to Ty Mawr in July 2025. The manager turned it around and mam moved in with very short notice.
Mam is bed ridden and needs 24 hr nursing care but she looks well, is very comfortable and well cared for.
The staff are wonderful, friendly and have worked here for many years offering years
of experience but more importantly they actually care. They ensure each resident receives the care, compassion and attention they need.
Home cooked meals are delicious and plentiful.
Lots of tea/coffee too.
Ty Mawr have new owners and they are injecting the much needed uplift, improving the character, comfort and familiarity for residents. This work in progress has been thoughtfully planned to please and stimulate the residents and provide that very sense of belonging.
I highly recommend Ty Mawr for respite, residential or nursing care. Your loved one will be very well cared for by this lovely, friendly, caring team.
Ty Mawr was the best decision and they came highly recommended by friends.

above and beyond to look after him as with his dementia doesn't understand.

Majority of the carers are excellent and go above the job description to help the residents
but not enough carers at the home to cope with the demands. With more residents entering the home car parking is now becoming a problem. There is not enough equipment (hoists) to cater for the residents which
results in residents waiting for long periods to use the toilet.
Reply from Sirajali Panjwani, Director at Ty Mawr Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're very pleased to hear your kind comments about our carers and the excellent care they provide to our residents.
We would like to reassure you that staffing levels are maintained in line with the dependency levels of our residents, and these remain stable. We also have four hoists and three Stedy aids available to support residents' mobility needs, ensuring that equipment is accessible when required.
Regarding the car park, we acknowledge that parking has become more limited recently. The new owners are actively addressing this issue, and plans are in place to extend the parking area to better accommodate staff, visitors, and residents' families .
Thank you for your patience during these recent changes as well as with the recent improvements we've made to the home - it really means a lot. We truly appreciate your feedback as it helps us continue to improve our service and environment for everyone at the home.

Our family member's year at Ty Mawr (Cae Hopkin, Abercraf, Swansea) has been overwhelmingly positive. The location is great, with beautiful grounds and easy access.
New ownership and management have brought continuous improvements, actively upgrading the premises with minimal resident disruption.
Staff welcome these positive changes.
The team quality is the most reassuring element. Management and staff are consistently approachable and helpful. The premises are secure (buzz-in, sign-in book) and fully accessible (lift, stairwell).
Facilities are excellent: good-sized rooms, large grounds, and a patio garden. Residents receive at least three nutritious meals daily. Life is vibrant with regular entertainment (singers) and prioritized activities. The home is regularly decorated, creating a warm atmosphere. Care includes organised outside events.
Overall, it's a welcoming environment with compassionate staff and continuous progress.

Our mother only went in for two weeks respite in November 2024 and within a week decided she wanted to stay as she knew a lot of the other residents and the staff were all very attentive and nice to her. That, in my opinion, says so much about Ty Mawr and its staff no matter how busy they are they always
have time for every resident
Yes the rooms and public areas need updating but this doesn't distract from the care. I understand that all outstanding issues (from previous owners ) are now being addressed.
Reply from Sirajali Panjwani, Director at Ty Mawr Nursing HomeThank you so much for sharing your mother's experience-it means a great deal to us. We're delighted that she felt so welcomed and comfortable during her respite stay, and even more so that she chose to remain with us. Familiar faces and genuine connections make all the difference, and we're proud that our team's attentiveness and kindness helped her feel at home so quickly. Your recognition of our staff's dedication-especially in the midst of busy days-is deeply appreciated. We believe every resident deserves time, care, and meaningful engagement, and it's wonderful to hear that this shines through. We also appreciate your understanding regarding the environment. You're absolutely right-while the decor may need refreshing, it's the quality of care that defines us. That said, we're actively addressing outstanding issues from the previous ownership and working towards improvements that will better reflect the warmth and excellence of our care. Thank you again for your kind words.

Overall care is good. My father is challenging and all carers seem to be very professional with him and caring. I have no concerns at all.
The building is dated and in need of a revamp, however that does not impact on the care given.

We also appreciate your honest comments about the building. Plans are underway to improve and modernise the setting, and we're committed to making sure it reflects the high standards of care we provide. Thank you again for your trust and support.
