My mother is in this care home and is waiting to be moved to another home, Woodview care home is a disgrace her care over the last few months has been nothing short of disgusting, we have complained to the cpc who are finally taking some action against this home, recently when travelling to see my mother
we found a resident walking in the village about a mile away who had walked out without anyone noticing, do not trust this home with your loved ones.
Reply from SD, Director at Woodview Care Home

We're truly sorry to hear of your disappointment and recognize how emotionally difficult this transition has been. We understand your concerns about your mother's relocation, especially given your close bond and daily visits. The decision was made with great care, in consultation with family and clinical professionals, and focused on her evolving needs and wellbeing. While we wish we could have continued caring for her, specialist support was necessary to ensure her safety and quality of life. We respectfully refute the claim that Woodview provided "disgusting" care. Our team consistently delivered compassionate, professional support, with clear documentation to reflect this. We empathize with the emotional toll of such changes, but misrepresenting our service undermines the dedication of our staff. We miss her presence-and yours-and hope she thrives in her new home. We send our warmest wishes for her continued comfort and happiness.

I knew from my initial visit to Ashville that we had made the right choice for Mam. She has been a resident since March 2025. On the door it says welcome to our family and I must say there is lovely atmosphere and staff really do make you feel welcome. I am a frequent visitor to the home and I can honestly
say that the carers work so hard. They show utter respect and compassion towards Mam and she trusts them implicitly. They are always polite and courteous and always ask the family if there is anything we need. This level of care is so reassuring when you cannot be there. The home is being constantly cleaned. The team keep the home spotlessly clean. The laundry team keep a constant supply of lovely clean clothes in mam's wardrobe. The bed linen is clean and is changed regularly. A maintenance man is on hand. The food looks nice and of good quality. The ladies always try to accommodate Mam's tastes and needs. GP visits regularly. Ashville is a well managed welcoming care home.

My mother has been a resident at the home since July 2024. Since day one I have only had positive experiences in relation to my mother's care. All management, care and nursing staff are always engaging, courteous and professional in all aspects of the care provided. They always fully communicate
and update me on my mother's wellbeing and any issues. The level of dialogue and engagement is excellent. I feel Mam is well monitored 24/7 in terms of all her needs and is provided with exceptional dignified care. They have a full program of activities to keep Mam engaged. They are constantly providing food, snacks and drinks throughout the day. The home is warm and very comfortable with both private and shared communal spaces. There are regular weekly GP visits to the home to address any medical concerns.
I have nothing but positive comments about the home, it was the correct choice for my mother.

My husband and I visited our friend today at this lovely care home. As we walked into the reception area, we were greeted by a smiling friendly woman who showed us to his room. As we walked there I couldn't help but admire the pastel green walls and decor, creating a bright modern atmosphere. The rooms
were clean, tidy and nicely furnished with a tv, wardrobe, bedside table, chairs and pretty pictures on the wall. The window looked out to some greenery. We were shown around the building by the same member of staff who initially greeted us. The dining room was light, airy and spacious and wwere then led to the lounge where several residents were relaxing watching tv. They all turned to say hello. The sofas and armchairs looked comfortable. There was no odour in the building and everything smelt fresh and clean. We were even offered a cup of tea or coffee. I sensed a lot of love from the carers and I could tell how happy the residents there looked.

This care home is amazing my mum has dementia,
they honestly go above and beyond from first contact with the manager through the social I was put at ease they really went above and beyond to accommodate mum even to the point of getting her a brand new( baby ) as this was her comfort thing honestly
nothing was too much trouble and the transition was so smooth it's is another level of care and compassion with meeting mums needs honestly this place is second to none the dementia is getting worse but that's obvious but the quality of care and attention to every aspect of mams wellbeing is amazing the lovely staff are like family they are always smiling even through difficult circumstances and mum smiles too because of this which is amazing
They go above and beyond to let her be herself which is a big weight off
the family
Even The food is of good quality they accommodate mums fussiness and they always try to get her involved with activities Thankyou all @ashville you are amazing xx

As a family, we are incredibly grateful to the nurse, the support she gives my family member and us is both professional and endearing. She's an asset to the home and company.
Unfortunately, I cannot give 5 stars as I cannot say the same about all staff.
The ladies in the office are welcoming, supportive
and informative and the activities coordinator always wears a smile.
Far too often, when we visit several members of staff are sat in the dining area either on the floor or round the table, whilst residents' buzzers are on red. I'd spoken to the previous manager and it seems standards have not improved.
We do hope with a new manager coming into the home, job roles and expectations will be revisited and the staff that do work hard, are thanked. It would be a shame to lose the valued team members.
Please feel free to get in touch. My family member is very poorly and deserves the very best nursing and care.

Our mum was 100 in March and staff went above and beyond to make her day very special they decorated her room and the corridor with banners photos and balloons. All the residents sent her cards and all staff did to. The chef made her a beautiful cake. They made a post it board which all staff, relatives,
and residents all wrote on a fantastic idea. Even staff who were not at work came in to see her. Mum has been in Larches nearly 6 years now and her care is fantastic. Everywhere is always clean. My aunty spent her final days at this home and on each time we visited we were greeted in such a welcoming and friendly way. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they showed such care and respect towards my aunt, even though she was no longer able to communicate with them. I know she would
have been so grateful. It was far better than our expectations of a nursing home. We were allowed to visit whenever we wanted and the home environment was lovely and clean. The managers were really open and easy to talk to and the nurses and carers were brilliant with us and her. We as a family have found the care home very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble, our mum has made friends, and been able to feel part of a family. The only negatives I have are the home really needs upgrading it's very tired looking, also displaying menus they're not always on display personally
I think picture menus are a fantastic idea especially for dementia residents. The manager is lovely and comes and chats quite often which I find nice.

Thank you for you feedback, we are currently working to improve the home 's dcor etc, we have an improvement plan in place. our menu's are on the board upstairs with a typed version and had written daily on the white board and downstairs is the same, we have picture menu's already in place, we put pictures on the white board upstairs of the food for that day for our dementia unit. we have already had significant improvements made to the home over the past year and will continue to do so

My father spent his final days in Orchard Lea after being discharged from hospital.
Although his stay there was brief, every member of staff made sure that he was comfortable and that he was treated with dignity and compassion. Any questions I had were answered openly and honestly and I felt a great
comfort knowing I had their support at such a difficult period for both of us. I felt welcome at all times and will always be grateful to have been able to spend those final days with my father.

The Vale Care Home

Currently my dad resides at the vale. He needs full care as his body no longer functions due to his Parkinson's and other Parkinson related illnesses. However, he is sound of mind, enjoys being grumpy, says what he thinks and quite stubborn at times too! But the staff understand that, don't take
offence and actually take the time to talk him round! They bend over backwards trying to make his meals varied despite his strict soft food diet and the chef even sits and goes through menus with him.

They have regular entertainment and activities, celebrations and events. This week he had his birthday and they spoilt him with a tea party, full decorations and food. It was wonderful.

His room has been freshly decorated and is always clean, the home is always warm and never seems to have a smell (which others can do) nothings too much trouble.

I would definitely recommend and we're so pleased he went on respite there as they gave him the care that made the transition to full care easier
