My mother is in this care home and is waiting to be moved to another home, Woodview care home is a disgrace her care over the last few months has been nothing short of disgusting, we have complained to the cpc who are finally taking some action against this home, recently when travelling to see my mother
we found a resident walking in the village about a mile away who had walked out without anyone noticing, do not trust this home with your loved ones.
Reply from SD, Director at Woodview Care Home

We're truly sorry to hear of your disappointment and recognize how emotionally difficult this transition has been. We understand your concerns about your mother's relocation, especially given your close bond and daily visits. The decision was made with great care, in consultation with family and clinical professionals, and focused on her evolving needs and wellbeing. While we wish we could have continued caring for her, specialist support was necessary to ensure her safety and quality of life. We respectfully refute the claim that Woodview provided "disgusting" care. Our team consistently delivered compassionate, professional support, with clear documentation to reflect this. We empathize with the emotional toll of such changes, but misrepresenting our service undermines the dedication of our staff. We miss her presence-and yours-and hope she thrives in her new home. We send our warmest wishes for her continued comfort and happiness.

My mum has been at Woodview for the past four years, she has always had the best care and kindness from all the staff. I have always found all the staff helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
The cleanliness of the home is amazing and they are always given a good menu at meal times with good homecooked
food which my mum enjoys.
The care home has a good selection of activities going on each day either as a group or activities done on a one to one basis. My mum is happy at Woodview.
Reply from J, Manager at Woodview Care Home

Thank you for your kind words. We'll be sure to pass your feedback along to the staff-they'll be thrilled to hear how much their care and hard work has meant to your mum. It's great to know she's happy at Woodview, and we truly appreciate your trust in us.

Kind and caring staff, always able to smile and show empathy even under pressure. The team are a variety of ages and characters that collectively work harmoniously together to provide a safe and worry-free home for the residents. The care home is warm, clean and comfortable. Nursing level is great.
Kindness is forthcoming from all staff members. Nowhere is perfect but we feel comfortable that our choice of care home was definitely correct for us, having visited and tried numerous others locally.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Since my partner arrived at the home the staff have been polite, courteous and professional in looking after my partner. I feel it is necessary to mention that the duties of care, which the staff are obligated to fulfil, are carried out with a sense of pride and affection towards the residents that
make their stay not only a comfortable one, but also provides a safe and secure environment where residents can relax and enjoy a friendly atmosphere. A carer's job role can be a stressful one where not enough credit is given to those who deserve it, especially when taking into consideration the long hours and dedication needed to fulfil the required duties of their positions. They do a wonderful job and should be proud of themselves for making a positive difference in the lives of those they serve.

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
My sister required palliative care during the last few months of her life, I was led to believe this care home was good and provided good care. This was far from the truth. The home was very poor in every way from certain staff members and above meaning home manager. My sister was dying and received
the worst treatment. She was given food she couldn't eat and always on my visits was covered in food I had to ask for her bed to be changed as she was lying in food. At times we asked for her to receive help going to the toilet which was ignored. Then she was unable to move out of bed at all. As my sister got worse we asked for medication which she was denied and I was told she only needed paracetamol she wasn't in any pain! We saw how much pain my sister was in and on many occasions she asked me to take her out of this awful place. I would not use this care home it is disgusting and not fit for purpose and I can't believe CQC are letting this home stay open!

Woodview Care Home, on the whole, I have found to be very caring indeed. Sometimes necessary actions seem to be slightly in array but of no significant consequence. If situations have arisen they have been dealt with promptly and efficiently. Only sometimes maybe a few more exterior diversions, e.g.
musical entertainment. Sky provision would also be good but I admit my mother is in the minority of residents who would be interested in sport.

My dad was a temporary resident but now would like to be permanent, and this change of mind is due to the loving care he receives at Woodview. All the staff are very friendly and kind towards my dad and any visitors. They have allowed my dad to do things at his own pace, and he has come on leaps and
bounds. The staff are happy to answer any questions, and when I ring, they always take the phone to him. The activities are amazing and offered daily, and residents have a choice in which they would like to participate. It's wonderful.

Mum came into Woodview Care Home for respite after falling at home. The welcome was very warm, the room was light and airy with large patio doors. Everywhere is clean and tidy. Day staff are very attentive but night staff delayed the bedtime routine until nearly midnight - not ideal for a tired resident.
Next day medication error. Six weeks on, the only complaint is the wait times for commode. Most of the staff are excellent.

Mum has been at Woodview for eight years now and has generally been looked after very well indeed. At the beginning of the month, she sustained an injury to her left lower leg and on examination, my sister found a few more bruises. The leg skin flap was healing nicely but at the next visit, it was covered
and was not looking so good. It is now healing nicely. Mum is happy at the home.

On the whole a well-run and safe home. I have asked on a number of occasions that a carer does a crossword with my mother as agreed pre-entry. It still seems this hasn't been done.
On two visits I've had to ask for a clean glass for my mother. Things like this should be automatic.

The staff at Woodview are all lovely and well-informed of patients needs. Any worries I have had in the past have been dealt with efficiently and with understanding.
One improvement I would be happy to see is an extra phone line, especially on the weekend when I have had to finish my call as the phone
was needed to call 999.

My daughter moved to Greenwood (Woodview) at the beginning of March during Covid lockdown. So far we have found all staff to be kind and caring, very friendly and welcoming. My daughter seems contented, happy she always looks clean and well cared for at each of my visits. All the staff do an excellent
job and should be commended for their hard work.

Current Review Score: 7.0 (7.035)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.0 (7.035) out of 10 for Woodview Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 3.3 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 3.343 for Woodview Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (28 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (21 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 3.343
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.692 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodview Care Home is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.6 = 0.317
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
