Mum has been in Aspen Lodge since the beginning of July 2024. She asked my sister and I to look for a nursing/residential home for her, as she was no longer confident living alone due to falling over frequently and not being able to get up by herself. We rang a few homes in Skegness. We were lucky,
Aspen Lodge had a room coming up and saved it for us. Mum was in within 2 weeks! She hasn't looked back. Thanks to the manager and the wonderful staff she soon settled in. Nothing is too much trouble for them. She says now it is her home. It does have a lovely atmosphere and is always clean. We can visit whenever we want. Very happy with it.

Well, I have just spent my first Christmas here at this care home and it's the best Christmas I have ever had away from home. As far as I am concerned no residents should complain about anything for Christmas. It is well-staffed, I have been here now 5 months and it's never been understaffed day or
night. The manageress puts all residents first and so do all the other staff, it is like one big happy family here, nothing is to much for any of the staff, if you need anything from a shop a staff member will go for you and there are no agency careers here, they are never needed. It's a fantastic team of carers and staff, they have most certainly made me more than welcome, it's the best move that I have ever made, thanks to the manageress.

My husband's stay at Aspen Lodge was only short but the care and attention he received was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. he was happy most of the time he would have a laugh and bit of banter with the staff. he did enjoy his food. I have nothing but admiration for everyone at Aspen Lodge.

We cannot express our thanks to you all for the kindness that you had shown to my mum in the last days of her life. All the family were so thankful, she was in a place that cared so much for her well-being, although it was only for a short time. Thank you all once again, we could not be more grateful.
Your standard of care is second to none.

I found the staff very helpful and friendly. The first time I went in, staff could not do enough for me because I walk with a walker and it was nice not to feel I was rushed and I could walk at my pace. It was a great experience.

Fabulous care home, staff are always very accommodating and friendly. They have respect, compassion and show dignity to the residents. My father recently passed away in the home and the compassion and care I was shown is second to none. I have my mum staying here too. One thing I have noticed is the
residents that are able to walk around the home are always happy and chatty. The care home manager is a good leader and the staff also seem happy in their work. So glad I chose Aspen Lodge Care Home.

My partner had Multiple sclerosis for 30 years, the last five to six years she was very disabled and need cared. To start with I wasn't keen on any home but I did eventually because she was in the best place. She became a good friend with all the staff and management, I would visit her for three to
four hours every day. They were very good to me, I don;t know what I would have done without them.

When my brother went into Aspen Lodge Care Home we didn't think he would live very long. He kept saying he wanted to die and he wouldn't eat or drink. After four weeks in Aspen Lodge Care Home, he is a lot happier, he wants to live. This is because of the care and support he has received at Aspen Lodge.
We cannot thank the staff and carers enough for all they have done.

The home is very much a 'home' and my dad is well cared for and so are we, his family. All staff are extremely friendly, helpful and caring and we always feel welcome. My dad loves his food and his likes and dislikes are taken into account and the staff make every effort to make sure he is happy with
the menu choices and will adapt for him if he doesn't like the daily menu.

My mother spent 22 months at the care home between February 2021 and November 2022. During this time the staff were always polite, kind and understanding. My mother enjoyed the attention she received. The food is very varied and food. With drinks in between, the staff monitored and recorded daily progress.
In the last two weeks of my mothers life times became difficult, the devoted attention and keeping the family updated was exceptional during this time. Thank you to you all.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the management and staff for the care they gave to my husband in the home. It was impeccable, nothing was too much trouble for them. They showed care to him with dignity so I can only say the care he was given was absolutely brilliant, the kindness he received
was excellent. It is a beautiful home where love, care and support go hand in hand. Sadly he passed away in the care home and the kindness they gave to me at this sad time I will never forget.

Compared to the previous care home my father was in Aspen Lodge is better staffed. The care and attention to my father is superior in all ways. The staff are friendlier and more available/approachable. As a 'customer' I was made to feel relaxed and informed.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.568)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.568) out of 10 for Aspen Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.889 for Aspen Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (32 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.889
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.679 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Aspen Lodge Care Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 7 = 0.429
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
