My friend resides at the care home; she is very happy with her conditions and seems very content. She has been there since Christmas 2019.

My husband moved here from the hospital, and he settled very quickly, much to my surprise. The staff seem to know my husband and cater for his needs very well and with care. He enjoys his meals and always says how good the food is. Unfortunately, he has had a couple of infections (not Covid), but he had received prompt medical care.

We have used Sherwood sanctuary for just a few months and find the service and care very good. The staff seem very caring, and we, as a family, are always informed of any problems or upsets. My husband seems quite relaxed and settled at Sherwood, and I hope this continues.

The staff are very good, and my dad seems settled. He has his moments due to his dementia, but overall, I am pleased with the home, and if there are any problems with Dad, the home always lets the family aware, so, yes, we are pleased.

My grandmother came to this care home in June 2021. It has taken some time for her to settle in, and at times, we have felt as though my grandmother has been difficult to deal with as she often rings the buzzer. Most staff have commented on this and how she shouts out loud for a staff member to help her. This is part of her dementia, and we feel more patients and understanding is needed with her.

My mum has settled well into the home and is calm, contented and feeling well. She has never slept well, and her confusion makes everyday things difficult to achieve, but the staff have been patient, kind and respectful.

My father has been here since February/March 2021 and always seems fine when we visit. We are always welcomed when we visit. It has been a difficult time for everyone during this pandemic. Find staff polite and always have time to talk. Difficult to understand how Dad feels, but he seems in good health when we visit.

My sister has learning difficulties and came to Sherwood Forest Residential and Nursing Home to help her recover after a serious operation on her leg.
I have been delighted by the care she has received from the staff, both the care staff and nursing staff. They have all treated her with respect and loving care - they have taken the time to get to know her and understands her needs and been patient and tolerant when she has been distressed.

Due to Covid restrictions, I've not been able to see the facilities but the standard of care has really impressed me. Thank you.

Dad seems to be well looked after there. However, seem to be recurring issues with his clothing and his personal care during it seems the night shift. Maintenance of entrance/exit needs immediate work as tree overhangs and bird droppings are all over the path, which then transfers underfoot to may care. Clean up of the outside much needed! Staff overall are lovely and will listen and assist as requested.

During the pandemic, all precautions were taken and adhered to. Although very hard on me and my family, we were kept up to date on Mother's condition. She was on end of life in December 2019 and is still with us; that's down to the care and attention of all the staff. Many thanks to all.

Overall Experience

My mother-in-law moved to Sherwood Forest after her previous home could not meet her needs. Sadly she was only at Sherwood Forest for four days before she passed away, but we were so impressed by the respect, care and humanity shown to her and us in her final days. We were lucky enough to be with her at the end, and the staff supported us through this difficult time. We are so glad she moved there, the staff are wonderful. After having a previous bad experience in a different home, we immediately noticed that Sherwood Forest is well run, and look after their residents with an excellent level of care. Thank you for everything.

My husband is very happy at Sherwood. He is treated well and looks forward to mealtimes. The food is plentiful, tasty and a choice is given. the excellent staff are wonderful in their understanding and deliverance of care. I am very pleased that he is well, settled and cared for. During this Covid pandemic, I am very relieved at the home's standard of measures to care for residents, from what I can tell the utmost has been done to protect staff and residents. Well done

I first visited the care home over Christmas; I was very impressed with how I was treated. We began using the care home in January for my relative who had Alzheimer's. Sadly she has just passed away, but it meant a lot knowing she had been so well looked after from all the staff.

Will definitely recommend it.
