The staff are very friendly and the receptionist is really nice and always has time for a chat with you. All the staff are lovely. I don't see many people these days when I visit they must all be so busy, my dad is in the Hastings part of the home he has not been able to leave his bed for over a year he can't do anything so I can't comment on the rest of the home. One of the staff members did a lovely thing on my mum's birthday they put a happy birthday banner up in dad's room and wrote a letter to my mum as if it was from my dad. It made me very emotional. The room is ok, food is good. Care is good.

My nan was transferred to Barons Park for end-of-life care in July from a sudden terminal diagnosis in the hospital. We knew from the moment we viewed the home and met the manager, the lead nurse and numerous other staff that she would be safe and well cared for. Nan resided for two weeks at Barons, where she received wonderfully personalised, quality care. I was surprised by how quickly everyone seemed to know her and what she liked, and also got to know her family. Nan said she liked it there, which is high praise indeed. Carers chatted to her whilst they combed her hair, even when she was in the deepest of sleeps. Nan requested ice cold drinks, so the manager purchased bags of ice; they knew she loved a certain cereal, so that's what she had. Barons is also supported by a wonderful GP.

The staff ensured my nan was safe, comfortable, pain free, and enabled her to have a peaceful and dignified death. Our family will be forever grateful and will miss chatting with you all.

Overall Experience

My friend has been at Barons Park since November 2020, and the amount she pays is higher than anywhere else I know. Her room is very basic, and there is no toilet or suite. Every time I came in to visit, the backs of her shoes are down, her nails are filthy, and her bed is not made or the bedding is dirty; I feel that I have to say something about these things every time I visit. The reception is very helpful, and so are some of the staff, but I feel there is room for improvement for what is being paid.

Barons Park Nursing Home is the first of three homes that have been able to meet my mum's needs, and they did this with compassion, dignity, respect and patience. I can't say how much this means to myself and my four siblings.

A recent Jubilee family event of Barons reinforced this when it was evident how much our Mum and other residents were thought of and cared well for, and it was a wonderful event that will always have the meaning of precious time together.

Staff at Barons Park are very friendly and are very caring with the residents. They always appear genuine and compassionate. The amount of organising and effort made for the Jubilee was amazing, resulting in residents and their families having a fantastic day. Well done to the manager and the staff at Barons Park.

My dad is currently a resident. The staff are lovely, and they treat my dad very well, which is not an easy task as he can be a nightmare, and even I have fallen out with him on numerous occasions because of his bad attitude! He complains if they don't come running as soon as he rings the bell, which I've explained to him they are very busy and have other residents to look after. From my experience of working with the elderly in community hospitals, I know how they can exaggerate the truth, and my dad is one of them! The staff just take it in their stride. They are always giving him drinks and lovely food, his clothes are washed, ironed and folded beautifully, and they have great banter with him. Also, took him out for Sunday lunch, which he loved. My dad is very happy there. I highly recommend this place. The manager, receptionist, carers, students, kitchen staff and domestics are all wonderful.

I felt supported throughout the last year of my husband's life. Very caring staff. My husband's room always smelt and looked clean although a couple of sockets needed repairing. My husband was spoken to with respect and attention was always given in recent days an activity lady gave my husband things to do. Clothes were put away clean and tidy.

I would definitely recommend Barons Park to anyone. My mum has been there for nearly two years. She settled in very quickly and is always happy and content. Alwats smartly dressed and kept clean. Covid has been difficult, but I am confident knowing Mum is being looked after. All the staff have been wonderful, from management, carers, cleaners, everybody! Thanks.

An amazing care home, staff are so lovely, they communicate with the family very well, informing us about everything. During the hard times of coronavirus, they set up a visiting pod outside so we can still see my grandad which is amazing. Would recommend this place to anyone, really an amazing carehome.

I would recommend Barons Park, as he is well looked after by the carers especially, and the nursing staff. My only criticism is when they have bank staff in, they are not briefed enough on the residents and how to treat them.

Dad has only been at the home for a few weeks, in the Hastings Unit. It was a difficult decision choosing the home as we didn't want dad to be moved again. He has complex needs. I was given my own fob to access the home, whenever I visited, and I did most days, at different times (up until the home went into lockdown). My sister and I decided on Barons Park as we felt that the home would be able to meet his needs (We were completely reassured of this when we were first shown around the home). It was a gamble but wow what a great decision. The carers are of different ages, some early twenty's - my sister and I could not be happier with the level of care provided. There is a genuine adoration for all the residents, the carers really do show so much affection to each and every person even during the difficult times. Sadly, COVID-19 has prevented us from visiting dad but we phone nearly every day and these amazing carers always provide us with an update. Thank you so much. Be proud. Amazing.

Having never heard of this home, we were slightly unsure of what to expect. But once through their doors, we found it to have a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are well trained and look after the residents in a caring and considerate manner, in a safe and secure environment. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the home-cooked food is excellent. After the excellent care my husband has received, I would be very pleased to recommend Barons Park to anybody.

All round the staff do a good job despite being called in on days off due to a shortage of staff. My wife has been in Barons Park for just over 2 years and the information I receive about her is excellent. My only concern is when my wife is in her room alone how often is she checked especially at night.

I was recommended by a psychiatrist to go to Barons Park Nursing Home and was able to get in as my wife had been there on respite. A doctor said she must go into a nursing home and I went with them in Nov 2011 after several years of caring at home. From stories I have heard, it was so much better than many others. No fixed visiting hours. Friendly welcome.
