This was my first visit since the completion of the refurbishment of the lounge and wow, what a huge improvement. Décor, furniture and everything about it is perfect, not at all like a care home. Light, airy and a very calm feel to the room, great for the residents and their visitors to sit and chat
but also a lovely setting for staff to work in.
Well done!

The day I was going to tell my father he and my mother needed to go and have some respite care the situation changed. He could not get out of bed or function and he was caring for my mother.
I had reserved accommodation for them. I was unsure if this development would stop them going. The answer, yes,
and their response, amazing within 15mins they were with me.
They helped my father dress my mother, pack and assisted in getting my father to the car.
Their stay commenced and all the staff worked with me to encourage my father's recovery and care for my mother. They were professional and above all friendly and caring. Dementia and issues my father was experiencing were taken in their stride. They got to know them.
My mother who had championed the idea of respite instantly wanted to go home. With family friends and the staff, we sensitively encourage her to stay until this was possible. Going home was accelerated by mother and they went home with a plated meal.
The team there are my angels.

My husband was temporarily a resident over Christmas for three weeks. Staff were very welcoming and kind. Coped very efficiently with his medical and care needs. Food very good. Delighted with his care at a very difficult time for us. The manager had her finger on the pulse of the home and had an excellent
knowledge of our needs. Thank you.

My mother moved into Cedar Court on October, I had researched the homes in the area and visited some of them, Cedar Court was by far the best option for her. From the day she moved in, to the day she sadly passed away, she was cared for and safe. She was treated as a person, not a patient.

I enjoy being taken out in my wheelchair shopping, sometimes stopping for a cup of tea/coffee. I enjoy making things like jewellery and puzzles and always take a crossword on the go.
I have a friend who I sit and chat with every day. Although my mobility isn't very good I do like to help decorate the
tree at Christmas.

My father sadly had to have end of life care. He was in another home but they couldn't meet his needs. We explained what we needed and was welcomed with open arms. He was with Cedar for 2 and a half weeks and then sadly passed. The care was outstanding, the care staff were very kind and supported him
and us. Also made sure mum had a hot dinner every day. The manager was always there when we need anything. Just a big thank you to you all.

Good care, caring staff but sometimes short of staff meaning a long wait for toileting.

Good food. The armchair in the room had a strong smell of urine so family wouldn't sit on it.

Reply from Katie Price, Careline Advisor at Cedar Court Care Home

At Cedar Court, we have a Housekeeping Policy and Procedure that our housekeeping team follow daily which takes into account not just the home but also any furnishings contained within the home environment. In regards to the call bell waiting, we do have policies and procedures to fulfil and we aim to attend each call in a timely manner. If the call cannot be answered within a timely manner, then we would expect the care team to communicate how long it will be before they can attend and an approximate time so that the care team can effectively prioritise and minimise any potential anxiety or distress that may be caused.
Thank you for raising your concern with ourselves.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.740)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.740) out of 10 for Cedar Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.759 for Cedar Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (46 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 58 Ratings = 4.759
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.981 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cedar Court Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.4 = 0.481
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
