My mother is currently being cared for here. Absolutely brilliant staff! She is well taken care of, especially since she has had a chest infection. She seems relaxed and happy. I would highly recommend this place for people in need of good care. Excellent for residential, dementia and nursing.

When Mum was admitted to the home, first impressions were good and the staff were friendly. However, myself and the family soon started to get concerned that mum wasn't being looked after properly. Mum has a stoma and has to have a special diet, the home was aware of her stoma but wasn't aware of what
food someone should be given, consequently mum was given food that wasn't suitable. Mum also had a broken left arm and was left-handed and no one supervised her eating, if the family were there we would help her feed if we weren't she would be left to herself, she was dirty and her food was all down her. I don't feel that mum was being washed and dressed, when we arrived one day she was sat in the chair in just her nightie and was frozen. We could see that Mum was deteriorating and we were getting worried. In the 4 days that Mum was in the home, I phoned twice because I was concerned. The following day mum was found in the chair unresponsive and was admitted to the hospital.

We welcome reviews both positive and negative and are sorry you feel this way after such a short stay at the care home. The information given before people come to the care home isn't always as accurate as we would like, the issues mentioned regarding special diets and supervision weren't identified or highlighted as a need for Mum's re-enablement placement with us. On arrival, Mum was clearly unwell and the travel did have an effect which caused us to contact a GP only two days after arrival. When we contacted family about Mum becoming unresponsive we were informed this had been happening historically and feel the staff acted quickly and effectively to get Mum the obvious medical assistance she needed. We wish Mum well for the future.

On arrival, my wife was welcomed by members of staff who were polite, careful and friendly, she was given an explanation of the care she would receive whilst resident in the home and given details of calling for members of staff whenever she required anything. My wife's appetite for food reduced whilst
she was in hospital and remained so for the duration of her stay at Martin Hall, this was almost certainly due to her being away from home and not happy with her situation as she told me on several occasions that the food at Martin Hall was always good with enjoyable variations from day to day. My wife also informed me that all the staff were exceptionally careful and attentive and always made her feel that looking after her was never a chore they always treated her with respect and regard for her dignity. Whilst she continually wanted to be home as soon as possible she was very happy with the care she received and that her stay was made as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Thanks to all.

The whole team were helpful and professional. If you needed anything doing, they were here at the end of a buzzer. If you were like me and able to do more, they let you do it. Independence is really important whether it be small or large.

My mother recently stayed at Martin Hall for just over 4 weeks of rehabilitation after 6 weeks in hospital. The care she received at Martin Hall was superb. The staff were wonderful - so caring, considerate, gentle and kind. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Their encouragement, support and help
enabled Mum to get on her feet again (literally!), and then to progress so that she was able to come home again. We cannot praise them enough for all that they did. The food was also excellent - nourishing, healthy home-style cooking - just what Mum needed to build her up again. The setting is lovely - she had views of the garden and really enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife from her window. Every member of staff treated Mum with dignity. They were fun to be around and chatted to Mum at every opportunity, coaxing her back to normality. They even put a big replacement tv up in her room so she could see the Queen's jubilee when she broke the first one! Thank you all of you for everything!

Everyone involved in my personal care, help and support was kind, compassionate and professional and willing to give whatever help I needed when I needed it. The menus were varied and nourishing and there were several treats including a national biscuit day with delicious homemade biscuits. I had a
very limited appetite to begin with but was never pressurised. My fluid intake was limited to hot water, but this was cheerfully provided. The carers all became good friends. My husband and daughter also agree that the care provided at Martin Hall for whoever has need to regain their strength is first-class.

I was resident at Martin Hall for a fortnight in a transitional bed. I received very good care - the staff were very good and there was plenty of choice of meals. Also, the medical care was excellent.

I visited mum on 18th November 2021 - shocked at how ill she looked. Requested they call the GP. Had previously expressed concern about how short of breath she was and how her cough was much worse. She was admitted to hospital with a chest infection/pneumonia. She was placed on a drip and also had blood
transfusions. The care staff should have had her checked by a GP before her condition got this bad. I wonder what would have happened to her if I had not visited her that day!

Firstly may we thank you for raising your concerns however Mum was on antibiotics as prescribed by the GP. On the day in question, your request for Mum to be seen by a nurse was immediately actioned and the emergency services were called and Mum was taken by ambulance to hospital on the day. We wish Mum a speedy recovery.

The management and staff are very helpful always happy to help and to answer any questions I've had about the welfare of my father. He is difficult to look after with having dementia and he's very stubborn. The home is very clean, doe need modernisation ie: double glazing, but overall, is very good.
Have dealt with COVID very very well.

During these uncertain times, we have found that staff at Martin Hall have been very accommodating with regards to getting messages and phone calls to my friend without too much trouble. I appreciate that they are extremely busy but usually have time for a quick update. Keep up the good work.

My mother has had two stays here in the last 6 months and she speaks so highly of her care - comparing it to staying in a 5-star hotel! The staff are friendly and attentive - nothing is too much trouble and she absolutely loves the food. My siblings and I have had regular contact with the staff and
it is evident that they care for and get to know their residents well. Well done to everyone who works there, you do a terrific job and it is truly appreciated.

Under very difficult circumstances I had to find a care home for my mum. From the first time I set foot in the home, I was made to feel welcome. Mum was only in Martin Hall for a few months but she was well looked after and although she was anxious and scared at times, she was helped by the lovely staff
and I started to see her more settled with each visit.
The staff at Martin Hall are very friendly and available to talk to, either in person or by phone. I was always given an accurate account of how mum was doing.
Mum has now left Martin Hall as we have moved her closer to her family in Essex.

My father needed full-time care and I was a little sceptical about Martin Hall as I had heard some not so glowing reports from a couple of years back. I decided to visit unannounced to inspect as it's close to my Metheringham home.
I was welcomed in and shown around. The home I am informed is under
new ownership and management and the staff and manager all were very professional. My father saw out his last couple of months here and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Martin Hall to anyone.

My brother was admitted after having a fall at home. He gets on very well with all the staff. They always make me feel welcome when I visit.
I haven't seen my brother look so good in a long time.
