Olive Row is a very pleasant care home. It is clean and in our experience well organised. The staff were very attentive to our parent's needs and were very patient even under difficult circumstances. Despite having quite complex needs, our parent settled in well and told us how much she enjoyed being
at Olive Row.

Dad is "fed and watered" and has 24-hour care. He is immobile and we encourage the care home not to leave him in bed - put him in his chair and put his TV on for him. We have brought in his own wheelchair but I don't think the carers particularly encourage/put Dad in his wheelchair from time to time
just to get him out of his room.
Overall happy with where he is but I think more social engagement from the staff may be helpful/useful.

I am so happy with the care and support my mum gets. She seems much happier than she has for a long time. She is safe, clean and eating and drinking really well.

Well not my choice to send my dad here at all, his other home shut. Moved him on a cold day, bed was not set up right, had to wait on a stretcher until the mattress was up. Only blankets for bedding, went and got him bedding items.
Dad was only there a few weeks before passing away. Not notified when
he was poorly.
The heating in the room was broken, and the doors to the room were always shut. The staff I met were always pleasant.
Took treats in for him and explained to the staff, please give them to him, still there the next day. The food was cold at times.

My daughter and I visit my wife as regularly as we can (usually twice a month). We are both impressed with both the staff and the quiet and calm atmosphere, which we feel is essential to the well-being of patients suffering from dementia. The staff are kind, respectful and really all patients with dignity.

Please do not send your loved one to this care home unless you want them to become a number, not a person. All promises come to nothing. The place is pretty to look at but not homely or comfortable at all. Awful place! Definitely not recommended.

Although Mum was only with Olive Row for four weeks, the staff greeted her and us with respect and dignity. Unfortunately, Mum passed away, but she could not have been in a better place. Right to the end, the staff cared for her and made sure she was comfortable.
We cannot thank the staff enough for
all they did for Mum in her final days. Thank you all so much. We are very grateful to you all for your care and commitment.

My Dad has been a resident here for nearly three weeks. He is blind and mostly deaf and has dementia. His teeth have been missing for several days, impacting on his ability to speak and eat. Despite several phone calls and emails and in person conversations from my Mum, my sister, my daughter it appears
they still have not even started to look for them and don't seem to see it as an important issue. This is one of several issues we have had since trusting them with my Dad just before Christmas. Not least of which they have lost his hearing aids, impacting on his ability to communicate, and most of his clothes (all labelled with his name). It's very rare to get the phone answered and there is no answer phone facility at all and once through to someone, trying to find out who is actually in charge is a real challenge. Even visiting the home in person, it's often impossible to find a member of staff to talk to.
