My sister-in-law has recently become a resident in Olive Row Care Home. She is very happy there and has stated that the care, food, and activities are very good. On visiting, I have always been satisfied that she is happy and well looked after, the staff are always pleasant and always answer any questions
asked with confidence and knowledge of my sister-in-law's needs. We are very happy with the care she receives, and she is very happy there.

Primrose House Care Home

My dear old uncle has never been one for looking after himself, and in the months before we intervened, we were very worried about him. He had become a shadow of his former self and refused all help at home - even turning carers away at the door. With the support of Gateshead Council's adult social
care team, we finally encouraged him to consider residential care, and in summer 2024 he moved into Primrose House.
We were nervous at first. A year on, I can honestly say he has thrived. The staff at Primrose have been wonderful - patient, kind, and genuinely caring. They treat him with dignity and have brought out a happier, healthier version of him that we feared was lost.
For us as a family, the peace of mind has been priceless. Primrose has given my uncle not just care, but a real home that he shares with his new friends. A true supportive, family atmosphere.
Thank you Primrose, your carers are wonderful. A special thanks to one man, he is the heartbeat of that home. Lovely man!

Mother was a resident receiving nursing care at The Mews Care Home. Mam required support for the most basic of needs with tasks often needing 2 staff. They were professional and attentive in this throughout. All staff treated Mam with dignity and were welcoming to us as daily visitors, and I felt I
had joined The Mews community myself. Staff in managerial roles kept us very up to date on Mam's situation and any changes in her care regime. The building itself is clean, bright and well-appointed with a pleasant garden area. Finally, Mam said herself many times that she was being well looked after and that she felt comfortable. This was a genuine relief to her family and friends.

My mum was recently a resident at this care home. I will start by saying some of the carers were very good with my mum . The events coordinator absolutely supper .
We had several issues with this care home regarding mums health. Nurses did not pick up when she had cellulitis which can turn to sepsis.
Water infection which is a common condition with dementia patients. She had plisters on her hands from constantly working around with her simmer frame. Which I was constantly cleaning and asking for padded plasters for to stop further infections. I also needed to bandaged my mums ankle because she was in pain. All of the above issues was picked up by family , NOT by staff . My mum's mental health has declined since being in that home.
Also we noticed that her buzzer was out of reach most nights. Food was of poor quality . the manager had a bad attitude towards family members. Would not recommend this home . Staff Not trained adequately for Dementia patients.

My Sister moved to Croftdene from hospital in June as was unable to return to her home. Everything about the Care Home is exceptional. She has settled in great due to the staff. Everytime I go to visit I am impressed by the way the home is ran. All staff are friendly and keep me informed about what
she has been doing and I feel confident when I leave knowing she is happy, content and well cared for. Meals are outstanding. If I ever need to go in Care myself I would hope I could go to Croftdene.

My mother in law stayed here for a couple of weeks after months in hospital. She came to the home in a terrible state, but these people were amazing from start to finish.
My mother inlaw had very advanced dementia, had to be fed and completely immobile, these beautiful angels ensured she was always
clean, hair washed. Always encouraged her to eat...although not alot, they tried, sat with her, sang to her. I can honestly say they treated her like their own family member.
Although immobile, they got her out of bed and included her in activity days.
She passed away on May 10th, but the care given there by all staff was exceptional. Im so glad she got out of hospital and managed to get into this very friendly, loving and well run home.
Cannot express how grateful us as a family are to all at Park house.
So much love and thanks to you all xx

This is the fourth month, my dear wife (a dementia sufferer) has been resident there, at Cedar Court. She has settled in very well. Every effort is made by all staff to keep her occupied and happy and they succeed brilliantly. Of late these have been hampered by the absence (for family reasons) of the
activities assistant. However with other staff members stepping in, the activities level remains good. A Good Friday fun afternoon, with a singer and a well decorated home, all done by staff & residents, was a great success. Long may this facility remain. One hopes it will go forward in its current style and operation.
