My Mam has been living at The Mews since 8th June and she settled quickly thanks to the care and dedication of staff. She is the happiest I have seen her since being in care from May 2025. Staff always take the time to talk to her and they know her likes, dislikes and her background in depth. She has formed a great bond with staff and they are very understanding, compassionate and thoughtful. The food is fantastic and Mam is eating food that she has never had before and really enjoying it. Management are very experienced and quickly reply to any queries. I no longer have to worry about my Mam as I know she is safe and very well looked after. A big thank you to all staff.

The standard of care that my mum receives is phenomenal. She is always clean and tidy; they make sure that she is eating and drinking well and all her needs are met. The deputy manager and the regional manager were so accommodating when I went to speak to them. As I say, I can't fault this home at all; my mam is laughing and saying poor sole to all the staff.

The care my sister receives is excellent. The staff are so caring and supportive. There's always something for the residents to do either arts & crafts, bingo, entertainment and loads more. The food is always lovely.

The staff always say that they are short staffed. GET MORE STAFF.

My mother came in here for care a month ago and settled in within a week or so the care she is getting is second to non she's always bathed and dressed in clean clothes every day her personal hygiene is seen to as she showers every day it's nice that the doctor calls every week if there are issues to be addressed as for the staff we cannot compliment them enough on the way they treat my mother we are very happy with the care she's receiving we sometimes neet to talk to the managers sometimes they are very compliant with us and understanding of the needs we ask

Staff are very kind , loving , supportive to resident of Blossom Hill , Gary , Karen , Nikki , Debbie to name but a few , thankyou for everything you do . Items of clothing need to be pressed more , on a hole they are ok , ( just me been fussy ) . Would like hairdresser to come weekly instead of fortnightly ,

I particularly noticed the cleanliness of my mothers room and all common areas is of a high standard and she is always well turned out when I visit which is every day.

My mother has nearly one year in Primrose, Felling, Gateshead. Teething trouble at first but she is very settled now. The staff love her singing, though me and my sister didn't want to let her go, we feel it was the best decision for her needs.

Staff are always welcoming.

Dad stayed at Croft Dene for four weeks following hip surgery, and with the support of all the staff he settled in wonderfully. The home is well managed, and every member of the team is friendly, helpful, and genuinely caring. Staff consistently go above and beyond, always willing to listen to any concerns and were unfailingly kind and welcoming each time we visited. A big thank you to everyone at Croft Dene.

Room and toilet kept very clean. Everything is to a good order.

Staff attentive and friendly. My brother has only been in the home two weeks so it is difficult to give a full assessment.

As said in my previous review of Primrose House most of the staff are great, very friendly and genuinely care for residents, however he has deteriorated very quickly and probably needs more care than when he first went in, his room is awful now and very run down as most of the building is, its very outdated and to be fair to the cleaning staff who do an amazing job they aren't responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the place. Im aware that the 3rd floor is being decorated but I do hope thats not all that is being done, this seems to be taking a very long time. Im hoping my partner can be moved to a cleaner and more pleasant room and more of his care needs be met. Im afraid my opinion of the managers (NOT the senior carers) is not a good one, i feel they do not interact with the residents and its left to the carers and staff who do an outstanding job.

Primrose Care Home is possibly the worst care home in the North East. It is dirty, dated and has rudest staff I've ever known. The staff don't know the meaning of care. Items of my relative have gone missing. For example her glasses (2 pairs ) are nowhere to be seen but my relative cannot leave her room so it can't be down to her that they have gone missing. The manager doesn't do anything to resolve any issues we have raised with her. Over the last few visits I have witnessed staff members put my relative in danger, which is not acceptable.

The staff are very knowledgeable and caring, nothing is too much trouble. They are always there to support and help you. The meals are delicious and very nutritious. It is like being part of a new big family.

My mam has been here since September 2019 and is definitely one of The Mews family. Her carers are always smiling, engaging and treat Mam with dignity. I feel comfortable with The Mews looking after Mam, with a special shout out to senior carers who know my Mam so well. Thank you for your care and empathy.

Both of my parents have lived here for two years and we have found the care to be excellent. The staff are lovely and very attentive. If I was to give some suggestions to improve the home it would be to install foam edging on sharp corners of furniture and dado rails to limit injuries to residents. Secondly, I would suggest that a member of staff be stationed in the lounge to keep an eye on residents trying to move around.
