Happy with the all around care for my wife Lesley.
Dear Adam, thank you for your lovely feedback which has been shared with the team at Primrose. It means a lot to us and motivates our team to continue providing the best care possible.
My brother has dementia and is supposedly getting palliative care. I see very little sign of this.
I visited my brother on Monday and his breakfast was all over his bed. He can't feed himself as he is too weak. I saw the manager who promised that he would be fed his meals from now on. On Tuesday my other brother found him lying on his back with a stone cold untouched breakfast on the table. On Wednesday I went in early and a carer brought in his breakfast and put it on his knee. I asked her to feed him and she said she didn't have time so I fed him. I saw the "Manager" again who said she would sort it out. I have her name and will report this shocking state of affairs and lack of basic care to every authority I can think of.
Please think twice before putting a loved one in this home.
The staff always say that they are short staffed. GET MORE STAFF.

My mother has nearly one year in Primrose, Felling, Gateshead. Teething trouble at first but she is very settled now. The staff love her singing, though me and my sister didn't want to let her go, we feel it was the best decision for her needs.

Staff attentive and friendly. My brother has only been in the home two weeks so it is difficult to give a full assessment.

As said in my previous review of Primrose House most of the staff are great, very friendly and genuinely care for residents, however he has deteriorated very quickly and probably needs more care than when he first went in, his room is awful now and very run down as most of the building is, its very outdated and to be fair to the cleaning staff who do an amazing job they aren't responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the place. Im aware that the 3rd floor is being decorated but I do hope thats not all that is being done, this seems to be taking a very long time. Im hoping my partner can be moved to a cleaner and more pleasant room and more of his care needs be met. Im afraid my opinion of the managers (NOT the senior carers) is not a good one, i feel they do not interact with the residents and its left to the carers and staff who do an outstanding job.

Primrose Care Home is possibly the worst care home in the North East. It is dirty, dated and has rudest staff I've ever known. The staff don't know the meaning of care. Items of my relative have gone missing. For example her glasses (2 pairs ) are nowhere to be seen but my relative cannot leave her room so it can't be down to her that they have gone missing. The manager doesn't do anything to resolve any issues we have raised with her. Over the last few visits I have witnessed staff members put my relative in danger, which is not acceptable.

The staff are very knowledgeable and caring, nothing is too much trouble. They are always there to support and help you. The meals are delicious and very nutritious. It is like being part of a new big family.

My friends mum has been in the care of Primrose House Care Home, 2 Crowhall Lane, Felling, Gateshead, for some time now.
The staff are consistently attentive, patient, and genuinely caring. They take the time to understand her needs, treat her with dignity, and make sure she feels comfortable.
What a fantastic home and team you have here! You guys are doing an amazing job.

Care home always seems clean and tidy, staff are pleasant and friendly. Always ask if you would like a cup of tea. In summer if required the patients are taken out in wheelchair. The staff try to keep patients occupied with colouring in, jigsaws, games etc. The patient I visit is fed through tube so cannot comment on food or drink. Always seems to be done with care.

Myself and my husband visit his mum usually every 3 weeks or so, his mum always appears to very well looked after, and happy in her surroundings. The home is always clean and tidy, her bedroom is cosy and warm. I would definitely recommend it to any one looking to house their relatives in their later years.

His room is clean as are the rest of the facilities.
The staff are amazing. Always friendly and welcoming from the office and reception team to the carers themselves.
There is entertainment and activities throughout the year for the residents.
He has been in other homes before but this is the best one.

At time of review my mother has been a resident for 12 weeks. This was initially a 5-6 week emergency respite placement. The staff have coped well, settling her in after initial traumatic placement. Home is playing catch-up to some degree because mothers condition was worse than thought. Rooms okay but en-suite not available. Cannot comment on food or activities as have not sampled/ observed

Mum was in hospital in October & was put on Mushy food but the Hospital had advised the home in November she could star eating bite size food, the home never adhered to this so I had to call the Hospital again last week & they called the home to tell them again.
I ordered a wig for mum from on 17th November & again nothing was done, I called the Dr's again & they said they sent it straight out, the home said the hadn't received, I find that very strange.
I do think the rooms need a little updated with more shower rooms.

My dad has been a resident in Primrose house since July as he was unstable on his feet and his Alzheimer's was getting worse. He is well looked after on floor 2 the staff are excellent and always friendly. We can't fault the care he is given and feel reassured he is looked after.

My Dad is in Primrose house and is well taken care of. The staff are lovely and always helpful and we even have few laughs and even sing alongs. We were so worried when he first went in but soon reassured he was ok.

We were nervous at first. A year on, I can honestly say he has thrived. The staff at Primrose have been wonderful - patient, kind, and genuinely caring. They treat him with dignity and have brought out a happier, healthier version of him that we feared was lost.
For us as a family, the peace of mind has been priceless. Primrose has given my uncle not just care, but a real home that he shares with his new friends. A true supportive, family atmosphere.
Thank you Primrose, your carers are wonderful. A special thanks to one man, he is the heartbeat of that home. Lovely man!
