Abington Park View Care Home is located opposite Abington Park in Northampton town and has 25 rooms that are suitable for older people and adults diagnosed with dementia.

Abington Park View provides a warm, loving, homely setting with a professional service. It is supported by fundamental principles committed to enhancing the quality of residents' lives. The home has recently been extended and refurbished. It has a new passenger lift and platform lift, 2 stairlifts, one on either wing, 3 communal spaces plus newly landscaped garden.

Residents' privacy and dignity are respected at all times. In addition, residents are encouraged to maintain their independence and are given the choice to select activities to ensure their rights are preserved.

Staff at Abington Park View are highly skilled, trained and experienced in helping adults suffering from dementia and are trained to help those with both physical, mental disabilities and in sensory issues.

The home provides freshly cooked meals daily for all residents. There are regular ongoing activities for the residents on a daily basis plus live music entertainers each month. Residents are regularly taken out to the park, theatre, shopping, etc.

My mum has been a resident of APV for almost six years. In that time, the level of care, compassion, love and spiritual support has been outstanding. As mum's condition has deteriorated we have been kept informed of her care and support to ensure that they are in accordance with both her and our wishes.

I cannot express my gratitude enough for the incredible care given to my mother during her nine month stay until she passed away. She was happy and very well cared for. Our mum moved into Abington Park View Care Home only three weeks ago. We chose this home after viewing it and we immediately knew it was the right place. The team have really helped Mum settle in and it has been truly heartwarming to see she has been joining in with the regular events and activities.
The fantastic staff also make us feel so welcome every time we visit and we really enjoy seeing Mum in her new home. We can relax knowing that Mum is being so well cared for.

Today I visited my Aunt. She has been a resident for approx 6 weeks. The transformation in her behaviour and appearance in that time has been lovely to see. She is happy and well cared for. My mother-in-law was very well cared for. The setting was homely, the staff went the extra mile. The staff treat the residents like family. My mother-in-law was very happy there. She loved to get involved with everything that was going on and the staff went above and beyond to cater to her needs.

My mum was a resident at Abington Park View for three years before she passed away last month. Trusting the welfare of a loved one to someone outside of the family is a big step and we were anxious at first but the amazing staff at Abington Park View soon put our minds at ease. Everyone is so caring
and the atmosphere is one of a home from home. Right from the start, Mum was treated as an individual with the staff wanting to know what made her happy and what her interests were - this made such a difference to her quality of life. Important days such as Mum and Dad's wedding anniversary were always marked in some way, such as Dad being invited to come and share a special meal with Mum. We always felt included in Mum's care with regular updates and the opportunity to take part in online meetings. My family and I are so grateful that Mum's final years were spent in such a caring, safe, and happy environment.

Mum was living at Abington Park View for three years before she passed away in August 2024. It was a very difficult time when it became clear that, due to the progression of Alzheimer's, it was no longer possible for us to care for Mum at home. We looked at many homes before deciding that Abington Park
View was the one where we thought she would be happiest and we were not disappointed. The care she received was second to none and it was such a comfort to know that Mum was safe, happy, and loved. We were involved in all decisions made about mum's care and always kept fully informed. Mum was treated with the utmost respect and all of the staff were friendly, loving, and caring. They do everything possible to ensure that the residents remain as active as possible and have a happy and fulfilled life. Every member of staff at Abington Park View is professional and totally dedicated to the residents they care for. We cannot thank them enough for making mum's last three years such happy ones.

My mum was a resident here for just under 3 years. We were very upset that she needed to go into a care home but almost straight we could see that this was the perfect place for her. The staff were wonderful. It really felt like walking into a family home. Mum was never in her room, except to sleep.
She was always being kept active, both mentally and physically. Staff very quickly worked out what mum loved to do (look after others) and set about making sure she could do this by safely including her in helping to tidy, serve dinner and look after the 'babies' (dolls). This was key to mum having a full and happy life. They always included us in all the social events at the home and each member of staff became friends to us as a family. We really felt they loved having mum there and when she passed away last month, the staff were visibly upset, which goes to show the level they care for their residents. We're so happy she spent her final years here, happy, safe and loved. Thank you

A great care home that I would recommend to anyone. My mum was there from October 2019 until she passed away in June 2024. The care she received was second to none from start to end. Staff are very caring and have such a positive attitude, not just to the residents but to everyone who visits the home.
Residents are treated with dignity and safety measures are implemented to suit every situation.
When my mum began to deteriorate rapidly and needed more support, this was discussed with us so we were fully involved in all decisions. The end-of-life care she received was excellent, as was the support we were given during the very hard final visits.
Overall, Abington Park View is like a home from home for those staying there and the staff are dedicated to making life interesting and keeping residents as active as possible through lots of activities, i.e. visits from a local nursery, religious services, seasonal crafts, and quizzes.

Would Abington Park View Care Home be the new home for my wife? No worries! Management and staff are a great team. A caring and homely group with a 'can do' attitude toward keeping residents safe, comfortable and content, with dignity. It's first names for staff and residents alike, rooms are kept clean
and bright. All are ensuite with safety in mind, windows only open ajar to minimise risks. Special safety mats are fitted to emit a signal to night staff to warn that the resident is treading on the mat during the dark hours. There we have it, a well run care home by a dedicated team for the benefit of residents in a safe, secure and homely atmosphere, namely the Abington Park View Care Home.

My name is Sarahjane and I am the Manager here at Abington Park View. I have a passion for delivering truly, quality driven care and a particular passion for dementia care, believing that every individual with a dementia, can live a fulfilling life .I have a vast amount of experience of consistently delivering high standards of care over the past 20 years. I have shaped and managed APV for the past 3 and a half years (with a gap of 3 months). My main responsibilities are to oversee the safe and effective management of the Home, ensuring standards are maintained and exceeded. We have developed a team with exceptional values and commitment to delivering safe, quality care support. I am very proud of what we have achieved so far and what we can still achieve, striving for continuous improvement, led by our residents. This is a bespoke Home providing a bespoke, truly personalised service. All departments work hard as a team to create and understand the needs of our residents. Our Home and the decisions taken within it are led by our residents, from where a picture is to be hung, to the colour of their bedrooms, to what the menu consists of. Everyday, we strive to ensure APV is a place where our residents experience Joy and Happiness and a place where we strive to continuously, enhance, lives. We are told often what a lovely ‘feel’ the Home has and how consistent the staff team is, mostly, the team have been together for a number of years, which says much about the APV ‘family’ particularly in the current climate.

Hi my name is Steven, I am the Health and Safety and Maintenance Manager at Abington park view care home. One of the most positive aspects of working here is the team spirit. Everyone from household, seniors, wellbeing coordinators and kitchen staff all work together making sure all is done safely and properly for the benefit of our residents. We all try to work as efficiently as possible and one of my roles is to facilitate this process considering the needs of staff and residents thereby creating a happy and pleasant atmosphere.
My primary concern is the comfort and safety of all our residents and staff. No less important my role also encompasses the security and safety of the building it's framework and contents. I work proactively to pre-empt risk and find solutions to ensure well-being and needs are met for everyone here. It's an ever-changing environment of new challenges and developments and during my time here I have bought many projects to successful completion. These include both improvements in the working environment for the staff and enhancing the atmosphere of the resident’s home here at Abington Park view.

My name is Lisa, and I am the wellbeing co-ordinator at Abington Park View. My role is to enhance resident’s wellbeing by providing both one to one and group activities catered to everyone’s individual needs. This may be an activity surrounding previous occupations, hobbies, interests or to support with emotional needs by providing companionship and reassurance. Where possible I arrange for visits outside of the home and make great use of the superb locality to Abington Park. During the restrictions of covid my role has become integral to supporting residents who were unable to be visited by their relatives or access the community and proved how vital activities and social interactions are for anyone’s emotional wellbeing.
