Most staff were pleasant, kind and friendly. However, some are rather officious. On some visits, there has been a strong smell of urine and a trolley of food waste was left in the lift that, residents, staff and visitors use.
Reply from Olivia Shields, Marketing Assistant at Park House Care HomeThank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to share your views. All of the staff are committed to providing the best possible care experience for all of our residents and we are disappointed to hear that you feel this has not happened in your case.
Food waste trolleys are never left unattended in the home. On the occasion you are referring to, the lift was called by a team member on the ground floor without realising that a carer upstairs was moving the trolleys into the lift.
If there is anything you would like to speak about in more detail, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at the home.

My dad was diagnosed with dementia several years ago. When it became time for him to go into a home, they started looking for care homes in the area. The first one he went to was a care home that didn’t have the facilities to look after my dad. He became sick and spent 6 weeks in hospital. He was then
moved to Park House care home, where after a couple of weeks, we all noticed a huge improvement in his general health. He put weight on and was a lot happier. He made a big impression on all the staff that worked there, as only someone with dementia could do! I think in all he spent 3 1/2 years there and was well looked after. As was my sister and I whenever we visited. The staff were friendly, very helpful and exceptional at their jobs! Sadly he passed away in November 2020 and left a big hole in a lot of family and friends lives, I just wanted to say a big thank you to managers and all the staff there.
Reply from Olivia Shields, Marketing Assistant at Park House Care HomeThank you, Grae, for your kind comments about our Care team. We appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback for Park House Care Home. We understand how upsetting it must have been, and are so pleased you felt that our team lived up to expectation and treated your Dad with dignity and the compassion he deserved during his time at our home. We hope that his time at Park House did see some friendships flourish with both the Care team and residents. Thank you once again, if there is anything more we can do please do not hesitate to reach out.

Park House care home is amazing, my dad is very special to me, the staff are so professional and caring, I wouldn't trust anybody else. They have gone beyond for the care for their residents during Covid, some staff not even leaving the home to keep the residents safe. Activities have been exceptional,
keeping everyone entertained during this time and even Skype calls to keep relatives in touch with each other. Thank you Park House care home Wellingbourgh for your care and support not just for residents but for supporting the relatives too. If I could give you all a medal I would, keep up the amazing work you all do and many thanks.

I am so grateful and extremely satisfied with the care the whole team have given to my Aunt. The last few months have been especially difficult and they have kept me in touch with phone and Skype calls, all the staff continue to be happy and positive which can't be easy sometimes. The food is always
good with homemade cakes and lots of special attention is given for birthdays. The home is very clean and the washing is done daily to a very high standard. I love the Facebook page which keeps me updated and smiling with what the Activity coordinator and staff are doing. They have also been cutting her hair and giving her a manicure since March when the normal hairdresser can't come in. My Aunt was recently poorly and the nursing care and attention given was excellent and I'm pleased to say she has fully recovered. All the staff are always happy to chat and reassure me when I ring them.

My nan is having palliative care and we can not say in words how pleased we are with her care. All the staff have helped my nan to look so comfortable and so well looked after. Since April the communication has been fantastic, always taking all the families feelings and wishes for my nan at top value.
Through such a tough time the staff have been amazing.

Lovely welcoming staff. Due to COVID, the visit was restricted to a small lounge. But it was very clean and the staff are very hospitable. My aunt said she was always being offered drinks - tea, coffee or water - all very important for older adults to keep hydrated. It was lovely to see my aunt, even
under difficult circumstances.

My mum is a nursing resident at Park House. She moved here in 2017 from another cordial FSHC home she resided at since 2013. She settled in fine being very well cared for.
The new home manager and the activities co-ordinator have developed a strong genuine connection with my mum who will grasp their
hand to cheerfully interact and smile.
My mum spends time in the rear garden or garden patio enjoying the fresh air, admiring the plants and relaxed listening to birds singing.
During the Covid-19 lockdown, the home has kept me updated with my mum’s health and the activities she participates in.
With restrictions easing, the home has allowed me to visit my mum by arrangement at the patio garden maintaining mandatory protocols.
The home welcomes diversity, adapting to ensure inclusion and a supportive home community. The home also acknowledges and accommodates my hidden disabilities and needs.
Park House has demonstrated that my mum will receive quality care through to her last days.

This was my mum's home for five years. Whilst this environment is not a preferred one for our dear loved ones, my mum settled and felt at home very quickly. Thank you to all the staff (kitchen staff who baked an eggless cake, the housekeeping staff who took time to chat with Mum). During the challenging
times of the current pandemic, the family felt reassured that Mum was well cared for, phone call and video calls really helped. Unfortunately, mum passed away during May, we'll never forget Park House.

My Grandad was discharged from hospital into Park House Care Home duing the COVID-19 pandemic.
I was amazed with how much the care workers, Nurses and the registered manager did all they can to ensure my Grandad was comfortable before he sadly passed away.
The empathy and compassion that was shown
really blew me away, I would definitely recommend this care home.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the registered manager, the nurses, the care workers and the administrator, your job did not go unrecognised.

Staff are friendly, warm, and go beyond there duties to accommodate my dad who is a resident at Park House; I travel along way to see my dad. they have had no cases of the virus at the care home; this is due to their professional manner.

The highest praise of all the staff, from the manager down to the cleaners. Between them, they managed to keep my wife out of hospital for well over 12 months. The manager has worked hard to inspire her staff since she has been at Park House. All the staff are totally resident-focused and try very hard
to build up good relationships. It might be nice if one of the walls in the rooms had one focus wall with pastel colours.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.509)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.509) out of 10 for Park House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.509 for Park House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (212 Excellents x 5) + (92 Goods x 4) + (29 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 338 Ratings = 4.509
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Park House Care Home is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
