My lovely auntie has been placed at Rushden Park for end-of-life care. This was a huge shock and the staff here were so understanding and comforting. The room is lovely, very homely and comfortable. The atmosphere as you come in is very welcoming - I feel confident in the care my auntie is receiving,
everyone is friendly and very kind.
The food is very good, everywhere is very clean. I am so pleased my Auntie was placed somewhere so lovely. Thank you.

Since my Mother was admitted in May this year, I have found the home to be exceptional. The staff have gone out of their way to make the transition for both my Mother and us as easy as possible. My sister and I were worried about how my Dad would cope once my Mother was here full time but the staff
have all taken him under their wings and made him part of the team.
Excellent home, I cant ask for anywhere better for my Mother to spend her final days.

I cannot thank all the carers, nurses, domestics, kitchen team, maintenance, and management enough for being so accommodating to my grandmother. The work they all do at this home is remarkable. My grandmother came in unable to weight bare, and she left being able to walk from one side of a room to the
other. The time and effort they took into her care was amazing and I couldn't have asked for more. They even catered to my grandfather when he visited, he came every day and there was always a hot meal and a cup of tea waiting for him. The rooms are so lovely and homely, and the activities programme was perfect! So suited to all the clientele and very much adored by my grandmother and all our family that attended and joined in! My grandmother was only here for respite but I can honestly say I have never felt so safe and secure in a home, I had no worries, no problems, and my grandmother fully enjoyed her experience. She's back home and is always saying how she misses the home!

My Nan came for respite which she enjoyed so much she nearly didn't come home as she loved getting to know all the staff and still asks about them now. My Nan came to the home unable to stand which changed a couple weeks later as the carers were committed to getting her walking again. All the staff
were amazing! They were so kind, respectful, and patient with my Nan. The staff here go above and beyond even making sure our grandad who would visit every day was okay, eating and drinking, and would chat with him at any opportunity. I can't thank this home enough if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have the Nan I have today.
Thank you so much to you all!

My father has been a resident since December 2023. At first, he was very unsettled as it was the first time he had left home. He was taken to the hospital and has not returned home since. He has now settled, he enjoys his breakfast and a bath. He is only eating bacon and eggs for lunch, which the kitchen
accommodate, plus his jelly and ice cream. He enjoys his cups of tea and blackcurrant juice and his sandwich for tea.

I have given the Overall Experience this score because we have had a few problems that took time to resolve.
Management has been very up and down in the two years Mum has been here.
Food and Drink - Sometimes the vegetables are not cooked enough and are too hard to eat.
Activities are getting better
now.
Reply from Bindu Krishnan, Home Manager at Rushden Park Nursing HomeThank you for your feedback, which is really appreciated. I have asked our Chef to speak to Mum, to find out Mum's preference as to cooking vegetables. We are trying our best for a continuous improvement, and I know we talk about things which concerned you and sorted out straightaway.

I have found all the nursing staff always ready to help my wife, nearly always straight away. If they don't this is due to already helping another resident. All the staff from the cleaners, laundry, kitchen, nurses and office are all polite and will go out of their way to help. I can always go to the
office and talk to the manager at any time about any problems I might have. A very good nursing home. Due to my wife being bedbound and does not eat solids I cannot comment on food and activities.

I like it here, the staff are very friendly and kind. It's always nice and clean. Although the food is good it could do with being more varied. The activities are fun but as with the food, more variety would be good. I don't often get a chance to go out from the home so that would make a nice change.
Reply from Bindu Krishnan, Home Manager at Rushden Park Nursing HomeThank you for your valuable feedback. We will discuss this with the chef to arrange a discussion with you to give you a variety of meal options. With regards to going out of the home, we will be able to arrange it with you.

The care given to my sister is quite possibly the highest standard available. She has been made so welcome in the home, the staff have been amazing and gone far above what would be expected in their endeavours to ensure her comfort and happiness. They not only agreed to allowing her son to hold a
blessing ceremony but went ‘all out’ to ensure it went smoothly. I understand some staff even stayed behind hours after their shift had ended, which shows true dedication and love of their work. I cannot express my gratitude deeply enough to each and every member of staff. You are all true carers, and the very definition of that word, thank you all.

When my nephew said he wanted to bring forward his wedding, the staff went all out to arrange a wonderful wedding blessing in the home so his Mum could be there. Everything was done to perfection, with kindness and enthusiasm. The staff themselves were all happy to see such an event and my sister-in-law
absolutely loved the whole day. Our most grateful thanks to all for making this wish come true.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.547)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.547) out of 10 for Rushden Park Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.547 for Rushden Park Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (232 Excellents x 5) + (95 Goods x 4) + (31 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 360 Ratings = 4.547
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rushden Park Nursing Home is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 68 registered maximum number of service users is 13.6, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
