This was my first experience of staying in a care home and I was very impressed by the level of accommodation provided, the quality of meals provided and the attitude and attention provided by the carers and staff. However, it cannot be said that the carers/nurses of the night shift met the standards
of those on the day shifts. Overall I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to others.
Reply from Jacqueline Jeynes, Home Manager at Rushden Park Nursing HomeThank you for the very kind words in respect of your recent stay here at Rushden Park – we take all feedback constructively and use it as a positive platform from which to build going forward.

My mum was a resident of this wonderful care home for 1-year. She was in the end stages of Motor Neurone Disease. I cannot convey enough in words the compassion and care given to my mum during the last few months of her life. Staff were always willing to listen and provide the best care possible. It
is testimony to the quality of care that she was able to smile at all until the very end. Thank you to all the wonderful staff.

My husband spent his last four months in Rushden Park where he was cared for with compassion and dignity and I can't praise them enough. They also provided great support for me for which I will be eternally grateful. Staff would always make themselves available, no matter how busy they were, to advise
and offer reassurance through the difficult times. Unfortunately, my husband was not well enough to appreciate all the amenities and facilities on offer, which are superb, but it felt like home from home – a lovely atmosphere and I knew he was in good hands. They are extremely caring and professional people and I would not hesitate to recommend Rushden Park to anyone.

My Father spent a week here, a very happy week in respite. My Mother and I found the Manager/Management very welcoming, which was the case of all the staff throughout the home.
All of our questions and concerns were answered upon arrival, putting mother and myself at ease.
The rooms are spacious,
lovely and clean, and comfortable.
All of the staff are happy, friendly and of course, happy to help you if required, alongside delivering excellent nursing care.
We would not hesitate to use this lovely, friendly home again. To the Manager /Management and your staff, thank you.

I don't feel qualified to refer to medical questions, but the human element is first class. All the staff are very friendly and some are absolutely exceptional. We couldn't have hoped for a more caring environment for my mum.

Excellent atmosphere. All the staff are friendly and approachable. Mum enjoys all the activities. It feels like home for Mum; rather than a nursing home and all staff feel like an extended family. Management is always available if required.

My father was admitted to Rushden Park for end of life care. The care and attention he received was second to none. At all times the staff were caring, gentle and yet fun. The staff and management constantly cared for him with dignity and respect. I would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment
and I thank you all for all that you did for dad in his final days.

We found the transition from hospital to Rushden Park very smooth and centred on our dad's needs. We could not fault the ease of his move to Rushden, the staff were extremely welcoming to Dad and us as family.
His care in the home was excellent and he said he was very pleased with being at such a nice
place. Thank you for your kindness and care.

Over the last seven years, our mother and brother have both been residents at Rushden Park. The atmosphere was always welcoming and the staff very caring. We felt able to visit whenever we wished and as a family, we felt supported, particularly in their final days.
The pastoral and social elements
of the home make it special. Our experience of Rushden Park will always be positive and we are very grateful for that.

Dad moved in on the 11th February 2019, knowing he hasn't been able to do any of the activities, but he has enjoyed his stay. The staff have been excellent. Dad's impression of the home is that it is a 5 star hotel and that he was happy. Very happy as a family. We would just like to say a big thank

Absolute Angels - all staff - except for a few night staff. Management was amazing. Careworkers on days all deserve medals, so helpful, except one. They made my mother's final days happy. My family felt like friends not angry relatives, waiting for answers. They were always willing to talk and explain
what mother was going through.

My Father was in Rushden Park for 5 years until he, sadly, died in March 2018. The care and love shown to Dad was exceptional! We could not have asked for better. He was treated with the utmost respect and care. We were encouraged to make his room his home - which we did. The love and care also extended
to us as a family. They could not have done more for us all. Thank you.

Dad was only at Rushden Park for two months, but, to our delight, he was always treated with great care, dignity and respect. The nursing home was always clean and tidy, the food was excellent and, most importantly, all the staff were very caring and observant and all residents were treated with respect.
Dad enjoyed going to the church services every Wednesday and we found the pastoral care directed our way to be of great comfort. Our sincere thanks to all concerned.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.547)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.547) out of 10 for Rushden Park Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.547 for Rushden Park Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (232 Excellents x 5) + (95 Goods x 4) + (31 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 360 Ratings = 4.547
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rushden Park Nursing Home is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 68 registered maximum number of service users is 13.6, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
