Red Oaks ensures everything they do gives residents independence. They also have a brilliant activities coordinator who organises regular enrichment for residents. This varies in what they receive. All opportunities are shared equally. All residents are treated with dignity and respect by all staff, who go above and beyond to be kind to not only residents but to visitors. These amazing people make everyone welcome in the home.

My 89 year old Mum has dementia and she has just been there 12 months. She had spent the best part of 16 weeks prior to moving there in hospital. She was ill in many ways and very unhappy.
One year on she is thriving. She is happy, in great health, and benefitting from a year of the best care I could hope for.
The professionalism and work from the staff has made her life enjoyable again. This has enabled me to re engage my relationship with as her son and not as her carer.
Most recently as changes have occurred within the structure of the home, things have got even better. The care side is excellent and liaison when she is not well or happy is prompt and effective. The social side has got progressively better to a point where I think she is having a better time now than she has done in the previous 3 years.

Trust this place! I have watched it for one year now and I am totally convinced that the place has saved my Mum's life. Thank you xx

My mother-in-law was moved to Red Oaks on end-of-life care in the middle of May straight from hospital. Upon her entry to the home, I noticed a pleasant smell, clean paintwork, carpets and rooms. I visited the following day at lunchtime to see her, her meal both looked and smelled delicious. My mother-in-law also appeared to be happy despite her level of dementia. The staff were caring and attentive of all the other residents. The manager 'Carly was polite, professional and knowledgeable of my mother-in-law's needs. Nursing staff also professional.

Overall my visits are good, there are days when my sister is troubled and upset but the staff and the management are always on hand in an instant to deal with all issues. I have no concerns about my sisters care her room is always clean and tidy, her laundry always clean and neat in her drawers, she always looks clean and cared for, she herself is usually very happy and talkative which mean that I'm happy too. The care staff are all so polite and obliging, and the managers are very helpful and always greet you with a welcome. No activities as yet.

After having a bad experience with professional carers in my home. I was very cautious of where I wanted my wife to be places. My wife suffers from dementia and has peritoneal dialysis every day. I was looking for a nursing home that was exceptionally clean because of the dialysis but with nurses who understood their patient's needs.

Having met the manager and her staff I had no doubt in my mind that my wife would be in the best possible hands and would receive the right attention she required.

My Dad received excellent care and support, he was always very smart and clean. His bedroom was lovely and clean all the time.
Dad could not talk but he communicated using his hands and we knew he was very happy in a well-run care home. My Dad enjoys all his meals and snacks.

Words cannot say how grateful we are to the manager and all the staff.

Our mother was admitted into Red Oaks during a family emergency and to our relief is now happily settled in as a permanent resident. The manager and staff have displayed both a professional and caring approach to her care and that's reflected in how well-adjusted, happy, and content our mother is. 'Bravo' Red Oaks as a family who live across the globe it's beyond comforting to know our mother is in such good hands.
We extend our sincere gratitude!

PS: two staff members, in particular, are phenomenal!

The manager and senior carers are excellent. They listen and act on any questions, issues etc. My mum is seen regularly by a GP with regard to her medication, organised by the home. Mum enjoyed the afternoons when local schoolchildren came in to sing to the residents. The home is clean and has a bright feel to it.

My relative was extremely unhappy during her stay in this home and cried on the phone every night asking us to get her moved. When she first got there she was put in a tiny bed facing the wall with no stimulation other than nurses and care staff giving her medication and food. The home manager was extremely unprofessional every time my elderly mother and I called her.

The home is unsafe In our opinion and we would not wish anyone else to come to harm in their care.

Absolutely awful. The care my dad received was dismal. Within 2 weeks of being there, he had been admitted to hospital 3 times. During the second week he ended up with severe dehydration and kidney damage. Basically he had been put in a room at the end of a long corridor, and due to the crash mat placed by his bed and him being bed bound with mixed dementia he was unable to reach any fluids. Dad wasn't checked on regularly by staff. Thank god the legal system were involved and refused his return following his third admission to hospital. I would not recommend this care home to anyone.

My mum came to Red Oaks for 2 weeks of respite. With the excellent care you have given my mum and to see her safe and settled I've taken the hardest decision to let her stay in your care. In the knowledge, she will be safe and content in her new home. Thank you for making it an easy decision.

Carly Creswell
Carly CreswellJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2020

Hello, my name is Carly, and I am the newly appointed Home Manager of Red Oaks. My connection to Red Oaks goes back to 1999, when I first joined the home as a Care Assistant, not long after the home first opened. I remained there for a number of years before I stepped away when I became a mum, but returned in early 2020 and haven't looked back.

Over the years, I have grown into every part of Red Oaks, becoming - I hope - a familiar and trusted face for staff, residents and families alike.

I progressed through the team to Deputy Manager before being promoted to Home Manager in April 2026. My love for Red Oaks is genuine, and I hope that shows - in the culture of the home, in the relationships I build, and in the standard of care we deliver here every day. I am excited to see where we can take Red Oaks Care Home.
