The fees above provides indicative top-up amounts, based on an initial needs assessment. These figures are intended as a general guide only, and all fee discussions will be held on an individual basis.

Mum was transferred to Charnwood from hospital as part of end-of-life care package. At time of writing she has been resident for just over 2 weeks. Mum settled in quickly and we all received a warm welcome, with orientation to the unit. We could not wish for better facilities or better care. Without exception, staff have been kind, thoughtful and respectful in their management of mum and their communication with family. This includes HCA, nursing, housekeeping and maintenance staff, together with GP. We have been able to work collaboratively with staff and have been impressed by the level of care all around. It was a difficult time for the family as mum was completely independent a few months ago. Thank you Charnwood.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased that your mum settled in quickly and that you and your family felt welcomed and supported from the very beginning.

We understand what a difficult and emotional time this has been, especially given how independent your mum was only a few months...

Mum moved into Charnwood in October , the staff support and care has ensured her needs are all met very well .
As time has progressed she has become a less distressed and anxious person than she was at home and she appears to be settling in happily.
There seems to be good staffing levels at all times, ensuring that residents have good care and there are always senior staff available to discuss Mum's care if needed.
Communication from Charnwood is also very good, I am kept informed of any changes and of upcoming activities in the home.
The rooms are a little basic, but very clean and well maintained.

All in all we are very pleased with Mum's new home and feel reassured that she is well cared for.

The staff in Charnwood , from domestic to nurses do seem to really care about their residents. They are gentle, cajoling and clearly understand each residents needs. My only sugguestion for improvement would be to do up the garden area and then use it during good weather for the residents.

I visited my brother on Tuesday 27th January. His room was clean and tidy and warm. He needed a haircut which I had previously requested about 2 weeks ago and it still hadn't been done. His teeth needed cleaning too. But he does sometimes be very aggressive and refuse some care. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Overall I am satisfied with the care he receives.

A resident peed on the fish tank, I watched him do it. A carer came over and placed the resident in a chair after I pointed it out to a couple of carers, the carer then walked away the poor guy had urine all down his joggers. The carer came back with what looked like a dry mop no bucket, smudged the urine over the nice clean carpet and walked away with the mop dripping bodily fluids all over the floor. A cleaner then appeared and said the mop had disinfectant on it, really because all I could smell was wee. She said all you will be able to smell now is disinfectant. My reply, really and what about the poor man still sat in dirty wet clothing. The cleaner made a suggestion that someone take the resident to be changed, which should have been down to the carer to do before running off for the mop. Not one person cleaned the chair with the bodily fluids on though. Does anyone at this home receive training? What very poor performance.

Most unfortunately, the incident in the review has been grossly misrepresented. Soon after the gentleman who suffers from dementia urinated on the floor near our aquarium, a...

My mum has been here since the end of October 23. It was devastating to have to move her out of her home, but the staff have settled her in so quickly, I’m astounded.
Despite having Alzheimer’s, she tells us regularly she is happy and settled and everyone is kind and most importantly she feels safe.
I cannot thank everyone enough, you made the transition so easy and have all been wonderful with Mum.

Charnwood is clean, homely, welcoming and friendly.
