My mum has been a resident of Lound Hall for over 18 months now and the staff have been truly amazing.
Nothing is too much trouble, the love and care the staff give is second to none, they deserve a medal for how they’ve coped through the pandemic.
The home is warm and welcoming and my mum is happy
which is the main thing.
A big thank you to the Manger and all the staff, you guys rock!

My sister spent the final eleven weeks of her life in Lound Hall, she received excellent care from the wonderful staff who spent a lot of time with her. Despite COVID -19, we were allowed to visit my sister as she was receiving palliative care. Our first couple of visits were arranged in the garden
with my sister being brought from her room in a wheelchair. Due to my sister's terminal cancer, she became bed-bound and so all further visits were to her room. On every visit the staff were diligent in checking that we were free of the virus, we had to sign a form to confirm that we hadn't contracted the virus and that we had not been in contact with anyone who did have it. Our temperatures were checked before we could enter the home and we were supplied with PPE. My wife and I phoned the home many times to enquire after my sister and we were always met with a friendly greeting and all our questions were answered to our satisfaction. My sister died with a loving carer by her side.

My mum has been a resident at Lound since 2018. Staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome and part of the family whilst remaining professional. They ensure she feels special and loved. Lound has gone through some changes in the two years my mum has been there, most notably, the change from Nursing
to residential only. The change was smooth and thankfully didn't affect us but we were kept informed of what was going on. The home is currently having some refurbishment work done due to tired and dated decoration, I have to say it's looking good so far. I would 100% recommend Lound Hall, it's a small home in a beautiful location.

My husband has been residing at a Lound Hall for the last five years.
We have seen many changes during this time, most recently a change from nursing home to care home. Thankfully my husband was able to stay. Lound is his home, he was born in the village.
He is very happy and well cared for currently.
All the staff are patient, helpful and lovely. They always offer me refreshments and have a friendly chat.
I often stay late and the girls bring us supper to our room and they always make sure I get to my car safely.
I feel very much at home when I visit and my husband and I trust and very much rely on the staff who work extremely hard during their long 12 hour shifts and for their dedication and loyalty we give huge thanks.

The staff here are always welcoming and friendly. They use residents first names and really care about them. There has been some updating of decor and furniture, and it's very clean and tidy

I visited on Tuesday afternoon, unannounced with the sister of the resident, staff were welcoming but found that the resident we were visiting was in soiled clothing that was obviously hours old (wet and bowel movement), one hearing aid had been lost and the other had a dead battery. She was wearing
a thick jumper on a hot day and had got sunburn on the exposed skin as was left wandering the gardens without sunscreen on. The 'laundry only' basket in her room had used gloves and rubbish in and a cardigan that didn't belong to our resident, the window was propped open with a wedge as was the sash operation was not working.

All members of staff are very caring and considerate and professional. They treated my mother with dignity and understanding. They were all approachable and welcoming. My mother was a resident for seven years and was very happy. She passed away in January 2018 and all the staff were wonderful with regard
to nursing and overall attention. She has suffered from dementia/Alzheimers and was not always easy to deal with but the staff were always attentive and sympathetic.

I found this care home to be very good the carers cared about the resident they were very friendly to the resident and to their families and friends. The nurses were good at letting you know how the residents are doing and if you were worried about them they were good at making you at ease. The care
home is clean and it smells clean when you walk in.

My husband was in the care of Lound Hall Nursing Home for 6 months I was extremely happy and satisfied with all aspects of his care. The care and nursing staff were kind and compassionate to both myself and all the family at what was a very difficult time. We found the home to be clean and tidy and
without the usual care home smell.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.468)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.468) out of 10 for Lound Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.718 for Lound Hall is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 117 Ratings = 4.718
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lound Hall is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.75
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 10 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
