I cannot praise the staff, the communication, the care and the attention to detail my Dad has received since going to Alston view.
It has been difficult and we have been faced with suddenly having to put Dad in a care home for physical and mental health reasons. The staff from day 1 have been caring,
attentive and compassionate. All our fears have been dealt with and we have been happy to leave Dad in their care.
Nothing has been too much trouble and they have spent time communicating with us as a family.
So far we as a family are impressed with the care at Alston view
Reply from siobhan wright, Manager at Alston View Nursing & Residential HomeThank you for such kind words at such a difficult time in your lives I will ensure I share this review with the staff team.

When mum could no longer look after herself in Norfolk, we worked with the authorities to get her placed in a care home local to my sister, and one that would be able to cope with mums increasing dementia.
From the get-go, the whole team at Eliot House have been brilliant. They are wholly patient
focussed, and nothing seems to be too much trouble, even for the patient's family.
Without doubt, they made mums last months as good as it could have ever been, we are in awe of the team there.
Reply from Shanti Rampal, Manager at Eliot HouseThank you so much for a wonderful review !. I will share with all team .

Where do I start? The team at Eliot House are angels! From making that first visit to have a chat about Mum, to clearing out her room after her passing, everyone at Eliot House has been there for me. Not only did they take fantastic care of Mum; they looked after the immediate family as well. As I
struggled in the first few weeks after moving Mum in, they were on hand every step of the way guiding, supporting and offering shoulders to cry on. They are highly experienced in dealing with dementia, and every member of the team cares. Nothing is too much trouble, and their hard work to ensure there are activities virtually every day for their residents must be recognised and applauded. The photos they shared of Mum joining in and laughing during activities, meant the world to me. And they warmly welcome wider family members into the fun - I had a lovely Mothers Day Afternoon Tea with Mum - all because of the hard work the team at Eliot House put in.
Reply from Shanti Rampal, Manager at Eliot HouseTank you so much Joanne for your kind words ! much appreciated. I will pass on to all team.

My husband has been a resident at Eliot House for 6 months after a life changing stroke. He has received great care and kindness from all the staff. Understanding and patience from all. We have both have been made very welcome, and I cannot praise them enough. It is a very happy, bright home with lots
of laughter. When I go home, I know he is safe and cared for. This means so much to me.

Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness, care & kindness in creating the special occasions in March. I know how hard it is doing all you do, caring & looking after our loved ones so I really don't know how you manage to add in extra treats which take up time, effort & care to organise. It's been
a brilliant month with the usual singing, animals, organ, exercises & bingo (which I never take for granted) but you've also given us a fantastic Fashion Show, a magical Mother's Day Afternoon which was so special with tea & cakes, music & laughter & the Easter Fair! It was a great atmosphere & a lovely afternoon.
It's lovely how we get to know other residents' families too & we enjoy lots of laughs & fun! It's wonderful to see how the Eliot House team enjoy these celebrations too & go above & beyond to make them special for everyone. As an only child I cherish my Eliot House family. We laugh together, cry together and make our loved ones happy & give us special memories to treasure.
Reply from Shanti Rampal, Manager at Eliot HouseThank you so much Julie for your kind words. It means a lots to our team. I will share with team. Thank you so much once again.

My relative is a resident here.
The staff are so helpful caring and considerate towards all the residents and their respective family members.
The environment is that of extended family not just that of staff paid to carry out tasks.
The staff go above and beyond caring and nursing duties. They treat
the residents as if they were living in their homes and they were visiting family.
The staff ensure that the residents are regularly encouraged to engage in activities and anyone not wanting to join in at that moment get the attention of staff members so they are never left alone.
The care and nursing of all the staff is second to none.
My sister is living a happy day to day life with all worries taken away and ensured she is well looked after.
We are so grateful to all the staff, they keep us regularly updated.
My relative does a lot of happy smiling here.

Older (1980's) building so not up to modern room standard but this is more than made up for by quality of care. Staff seem cheerful and helpful most of the time despite often challenging residents. Entertainers most days (even have Alpaca visits).

During the nine months that my husband was a service user, we became part of the Longton Nursing Home family. Staff were caring, efficient and friendly. We were kept well-informed, and consulted when appropriate. Requests were listened to and generally acted upon. I would recommend this home to anyone
looking for a place for a loved one.

1) Home clean and tidy
2) Staff very kind and helpful
3) Home looks clean and well maintained
4) Care of friend seems good
1) Downstairs guest toilet needs fixing
2) Garden needs a few more flowers
3) Lady in question (sometimes has dirty nails and hair a bit unkept) could look cleaner
Reply from Varhi Audain, manager at Lound HallThank you for the comment and we will take this on board, and i will pass this over to staff members to review

An overall negative experience I'm afraid over an 11 month stay. The Home is NOT in fact registered to provide (nor skilled up to provide) some of the categories this website says it is - 'Dementia Nursing Care' and 'Advanced / Complex Dementia' being the 2 main examples. My mum is 73, has Alzheimers
Dementia, moderate levels of confusion & is still mobile. The home couldn't keep her safe & she managed to leave the building unaccompanied on 10+ occasions. One incident happened because a carer propped open a door that should've been kept on the coded lock at all times. My mum was missing for an hour ; found by the police in the dark & needed hospital treatment for her injuries. Basic protocols initially not being in place resulted in other similar incidents. Add on top of this: meds errors + long delays in getting repairs done (e.g. toilet water leaking into the bedroom carpet for 3 weeks) + clothes & belongings constantly going missing + assessments not being followed up. Depressing.

My husband and I were searching for a care home close to our home and mums friends in Longridge. Mum had been in Hospital since April 2025 and was desperate to spend her final days in a welcoming and peaceful environment . We had visited various homes around the area but as soon as we walked into Alston
View we instantly knew that we had found the right place for her. The rooms are clean and the whole ambience of the home made us feel confident that we had found the right place. We cannot speak highly enough of the staff, everyone at the home made us feel welcome and mum was completely happy with her surroundings and the professional care she received. All the team, from the managers through to the cleaners made sure that she was comfortable and given the best possible care in her final days. The nursing staff went above and beyond their duties in caring for mum often sitting with her when we were not around. Nothing was too much trouble and we would absolutely recommend Alston View.

My father and family are happy with the care he receives. I don't know why, but in the last few weeks (he was moved back upstairs), we really feel he has settled and is happy here. The staff are very caring and he's happy with them. The staff are very welcoming.

My father was moved into the care home from hospital due to his care needs, sadly he was only there a week before passing away. I can't praise the home enough for the treatment/care he received in that short time from all the staff. The home facilities, help and communication were excellent and the
staff went above and beyond to keep my father comfortable during his last days, the care and attention we received as a family whilst we stayed by the bedside was excellent too, I would not hesitate to recommend Longton Nursing Home to potential residents and families.
Reply from Hayley Griffiths, home manager at Longton Nursing & Residential HomeThank you for your wonderful review I will pass this on to all the team.
