Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are sorry your experience of the home has not been positive. We take our medication management responsibilities very seriously and medications are only administered in line with the prescribers’ instructions. Some medications are prescribed on an ‘as and when required’ basis which has a written protocol giving clear instructions in relation to need, frequency and dosage and is monitored very closely. Due to the needs of the people living in the home there are times when our ladies and gentlemen may present with behaviours that challenge which can be distressing to witness. We are sorry this caused you upset and that you feel you were not offered the appropriate support following this encounter. All staff undertake training to ensure they are competent and confident to support people when they are distressed. HC-One recognises the importance of offering our clients a healthy and balanced diet and the need to encourage people to eat and drink. Where clients are nursed in bed, staff ensure they receive the support they need in a kind and caring manner. Our wellbeing team helps to ensure our clients have access to the activities on offer, even if this is a quiet chat in their room. The Home Manager operates an open-door policy and spends a lot of time talking with residents and families. We encourage relatives to contact the home to discuss any concerns they may have so that we can support to resolve these.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We apologise you have had cause to raise concern about your Mother’s stay with us. Regarding the sim card issue, a member of staff verbally advised of the difficulty we experienced in replacing it due to a required piece of equipment which we do not have. As we did not want to cause damage to the phone, we asked you to swap the sim over for your Mother. We also offered you the use of our mobile landline phone so that you could continue to have regular contact with your Mum. When your Mother arrived at the home, she had medication as detailed by her hospital discharge form produced by the National Health Service and verified by her GP. We are sorry you feel your Mother was not given the correct medication. If you would like to contact the Home Manager, she will be more than happy to investigate this matter further for you. Due to the stringent guidelines in place at the time of your Mother’s stay, the safest way to monitor guidelines were being followed was to have staff support during visits; we sincerely apologise this made you feel uncomfortable. Our aim throughout the pandemic was and remains that we ensure the highest possible infection control measure to ensure the safety of our residents, visitors and colleagues.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. I hope you will accept our sincere apology that on the occasional visit you have attended, your Mother has been wearing another person’s clothing. We have conducted a robust wardrobe check for each person living in the home to ensure they have their own clothing labelled and available. Should such an incident occur again, please can you bring this immediately to the attention of the nurse in charge or home management so that it can be resolved why it has occurred and by whose actions.
