My mother has been a resident at Balmoral Care Home for eight years. The care provided is personalised and has enabled Mum to maintain a degree of independence. Mum has been encouraged to participate in activities (e.g. baking), and events organised for residents (e.g. Coronation party). The home is well-managed and is undergoing a programme of refurbishment. The staff are approachable and know the residents well. It is a relief that Mum is settled and well looked after.

Mum has been in Balmoral Care Home since 11th May and has settled in well. The staff are lovely and look after her well. We as a family now know that she is getting her medication regularly, is eating regular meals and that she is safe.
The building is a little 'tired' and could do with some refurbishment, but is always clean, what struck us most is that there is never any of the smell that is often present in other care homes.

We are very grateful for the care that she is receiving in Balmoral.

Since arriving at Balmoral Care Home, Mum has settled well and is full of praise for the staff. It is reassuring that she is happy and safe. Her medication is now professionally monitored which is a great comfort to us.

My wife has Alzheimer's dementia, she requires full support with all activities, food to be specially prepared, washing, dressing and cleaning. The management and care working staff are wonderful, they look after all the residents very well. I am so pleased my wife is in Balmoral are Home.

Mum went into Balmoral in November 2020; she has a nice ensuite room, she had good food, which she enjoyed. The staff were very nice, and she always spoke about them with fondness. My mum sadly passed away in January, aged 96, but I can recommend the Balmoral as she was looked after very well.

My mum went into Balmoral for care in Jan and Feb this year. The staff all looked after her very well, from the caretaker, the lovely lady who bathed her but sadly I don’t know her name, the cook and everyone who took part in caring for her. She did go back to her house for a couple of months but felt she couldn’t carry on at home so has now returned to once again get the fantastic care at Balmoral.

Overall Experience

My aunt was a resident from July 2019 - Jan 2021. During this time she was looked after with utmost care by the amazing team at the Balmoral. She walked using a walking frame and in the months before she moved here she would regularly fall in her own home however in all the time she lived at the Balmoral she never had a single fall. She was still free to walk around the home freely and make her own choices about which lounge she could sit in and whether or not she wanted to watch tv in her own room or to socialise with other residents. She told me that she no longer felt lonely as she now had company every single day. The food was also excellent and my aunt soon put on the weight that she had worryingly lost whilst living on her own and not cooking appropriate meals. I cannot thank the manager and the team enough for all their love and hard work particularly during such a stressful time with the pandemic.

Overall Experience
My dad, who suffered from Alzheimer's, was admitted to the Balmoral Care Home in June 2020 and stayed there until October 2020 when he went into hospital. I initially met the Manager of the home who took time to know dad and what he was interested and from that moment I knew dad was in safe hands. The manager and all the staff have been wonderful looking after dad, who despite his condition, was comfortable and content whenever we were able to see him within the COVID. He always clean. well dressed and happy whenever we saw him.

Despite the additional challenges of COVID, staff were always happy to talk about how Dad was doing and nothing was too much trouble to them. We spoke regularly about how best to settle dad in the early days and this really appreciated when dad was a little agitated and anxious due to his new surroundings. It wasn't long before he was settled and comfortable!

Thank you.

My mother has been a resident since late December 2019. Initially, the home looked a bit tired but the room had been refurbed and was large and airy with a lovely outlook. Staff all excellent and my mother has no complaints about any of them. My mother does not have any dementia and her 2 complaints are regarding the number of residents who do suffer from dementia and sometimes the food is lacking for her taste and enjoyment. Otherwise, she is settled.

Overall Experience

Balmoral Care home is a very warm welcoming care home that makes every individual feel welcome, all the staff are extremely polite and very helpful. If you are looking for a care home for your relative to go I would extremely recommend Balmoral care home as they will feel at home and will have the best care they could ever ask for! All the staff provide excellent care and meet all the residents needs. I have never felt more welcome anywhere than I have at this care home! All the staff are full of smiles and cheer up any residents that may be feeling down and also know how to meet the residents emotional needs by comforting them. I have very much enjoyed my experience at this care home and found it great how much all the carers come together and worked as such a fantastic team. Every single one of the carers should be proud of themselves for the excellent service that they are providing to all the residents. It is also a very clean care home that has excellent personal hygiene.
