Everyone is very caring, you all work very hard and take excellent care. The way you protected loved ones over the past year has been incredible. Thank you so much.

My brother has been a resident at Downshaw Lodge for three years. I believe he has had the best care possible and although the last year has been testing for everyone, the staff have been excellent in the care and helpfulness to both him and his family. We can't appreciate enough the way he has been looked after.

My dad seems happy and settled. Staff are helpful and polite.

Have found overall experience to be excellent. Management are approachable anytime, have always found them to be caring and they do act on any concerns. Staff are polite and know how to handle residents with dignity and respect. We have always been informed of any changes to behaviour or health concerns. We as a family are confident that our father is receiving the best care we can hope for.

Only been on three visits, but the care seems very clean, and the staff are very helpful.

The management and staff at Downshaw lodge are incredibly caring. I know it's their job but they are amazing and go above and beyond all the time. They always make time to talk through how my husband is doing and nothing is ever too much trouble when I ring. Myself and my husband's family are so satisfied with the care and attention he gets. We couldn't ask for more. During this pandemic management and staff have done a fantastic job of keeping residents as safe and well as they possibly could. The management and staff kept me in the loop at all times during these unprecedented times and we were all grateful for that as it couldn't have been easy for them under the pressure they must have felt. Excellent care home with excellent staff.

An excellently managed care home, well run and genuine care is provided for service users. My Dad has been resident in 5 care homes in the last 7 years... each time after initial promising starts, problems became apparent usually following the same pattern. Trust would be lost between my Father and the care team to such an extent he would refuse all care and become problematic. At first, I thought it was my Dad's condition that was causing the issues... But I soon realized the issues were due to my Dad's condition not being treated properly. All I can honestly say is that from the first time I visited the care home, I have not been disappointed. The initial reception is clean and always smells nice... A big clue to how clean it is throughout. The staff are very welcoming and thorough in what they do... and they all seem to have a genuine concern for the residents. The Nursing staff are excellent. But a special mention to the manager. Excellent work!

As the daughter of a resident living at Downshaw Lodge since last June, I would like to say on behalf of my family how delighted we are with the care of my Father. He suffers from complex medical needs and the staff at the home are extremely experienced, kind and understanding of his progressive illness. Mum has appreciated the one to one care given to my dad and the regular updates and friendly support to her. Mum has been able to see Dad through face time. Dad although suffering from severe Dementia and severe deafness has been able to take part in face time and through telephone conversations with the very professional staff. They always have the time to talk through any anxieties that we have and allow us to be part of my dad's care. It has been a difficult time through the covid period and this has been eased by the caring professional staff who tell us about how dad is his daily routine and by knowing how they are able to look after my Dad as if he was at home. Thank you.

My husband has been a resident at Downshaw Lodge for the last three and a half years. He has always been treated with dignity and respect, he is always clean and well dressed. He has made steady weight gain during his stay there and enjoys his food. I have no concerns with my husband's care and I trust the staff with his care.

My husband moved into Downshaw Lodge Care Home December 2015. The staff at Downshaw Lodge are a well lead cohesive team resulting in the residents receiving a caring professional service. There is always a carer in the lounge areas and I have witnessed their skill and the kindly way they have defused many a risky situation. They have always included and supported me by their good communication and thoughtfulness. I am happy with the care and kindness at this home.
