The staff at Downshaw Lodge look after my brother-in-law. I am very happy with the care provided. The communication from the senior team on the residential unit is excellent. The unit is always clean and tidy on arrival. The team know how to approach my brother-in-law's complex needs very well. I am
forever grateful for the care and dignity that Downshaw Lodge provided.

My father had mixed dementia and challenging behaviours which meant he could no longer be cared for at home. We brought dad to Washington Lodge from a another care home and from the minute he was collected from the car we knew he was in the right place. He has been looked after and cared for wonderfully
by all the team, ensuring he was clean, shaven and had dignity in his final months. He was spoken to as a human being, not a "resident", and we were made to feel part of a community. Thank you to everyone who cared for my dad, and also for looking after us in difficult times.

My brother was moved from hospital to the nursing home. As his family we are very happy with his care. The staff are all professional in their approach. He is well cared for. I cannot comment on the food as I have never been there when meals are served, or seen activities so cannot comment. Value for
money have no idea of the costs. Thank you so much for his care.

My dad has been placed in this care home in January 26. The staff have been nothing but fantastic. They have listen to our thoughts and opinions and included us in every aspect of my dad's care as he is unable to advocate for himself. The home manager has kept us updated and contacted other professionals
when we have asked her to. I'm glad we chose this care home, they are nothing but helpful.

My cousin is receiving palliative care at Washington Lodge Nursing Home. As I live in Hertfordshire I have only managed to drive up to visit him on 3 occasions, however, on each visit I have been so impressed with the kindness, patience and care he is receiving. The whole nursing home has such a friendly
and homely feeling that I associate with the North East of England. They nursing home is spotlessly clean and the manager and all the staff are always so helpful. Many thanks.

My husband came to Downshaw in September 21 and was immediately was welcomed. Alan has been looked after by many carers at the home, and they have looked after him and his changing needs throughout his time here, including caring for him at hospital visits.
The management team have made positive changes
for the residents and ensures relatives are always involved and informed.
During the final weeks of my husband's life, the management, nurses and carers have all been so supportive and caring. The end of life care was kind, supportive and right for him and the family and discussed and explained throughout. The nurses and carers who supported during this time were amazing.
Thank you to everyone at Downshaw, from the receptionist, cleaners, handyman, entertainers, nurses, carers and management. It is the people that make a home what it is.

Came to visit with his son, he seems very happy here and has become more sociable since being here. His last home he wouldn't leave his room but this home he mingles with other residents. He says the staff are all friendly and he gets on well with them all. Very well looked after and very clean environment.

I am very happy with the care of my partner, and he seems very contended and enjoying his food. The decor and surroundings of the home are great, exceptionally clean, and bright. His room is spacious and ensuite, and he has his own television. The activities are well planned, and he likes to watch even
if he cannot join in everything and particularly enjoys the singing. Looking foreard to Christmas festivities

My husband entered Downshaw Lodge directly from hospital following a very long stay there. Within 24 hours he was like a different man, eating all his meals, more alert to his surroundings. From day one the staff have always been attentive to his complex needs, and all staff are very friendly and always
available if needed. For the first time in a very long time we as a family feel more settled and confident. What we thought would be a daunting experience for him and our family was made much easier.
