High Peak Lodge Residential & Nursing Home

An exceptional care home with an outstanding team. The nurses, carers and manager have been absolutely wonderful in supporting my sister after cancer treatments. Their dedication and professionalism and genuine warmth has provided her with a safe, comforting environment. I am incredibly grateful for the high standard of care she has received and still receives. Thank you for everything you do.

My husband has been a resident in High Peak Lodge Nursing Home since April 2024. He has Parkinson's disease with dementia and requires constant assistance with his daily needs. The manager and staff have always been very helpful and deal with any problems should they arise. The staff are pleasant and caring. I would recommend this nursing home.

I am always asked if I want to get involved in any activities which are happening in the home we go on local trips nearly every week

My Dad has very recently moved into High Peak with a view to it becoming permanent. (4wks respite) Our experience over 2 wks has been extremly positive. From the cleaner to the manager every single encounter has been friendly and consistently good. The care staff and nursing team are all full of energy and enthusiasm, very bubbly and happy. They are a wonderful team of caring individuals. My Dad has settled really well and wants to stay here because he really likes it and he happy, which is all I need and can ask for.

I have found the Home to be very homely and welcoming the staff always speak and are welcoming from answering the door to passing on a corridor. This has been a very difficult time for us as a family but mum has been welcomed and made to feel comfortable she has nothing but praise for all the staff she regularly tells me everyone is lovely if there was an issue she would definitely tell me. My dad has found this a difficult time but is still reassured that she is being looked after. Mum has joined in with activities which she is enjoying and everything from hairdressing to chiropody services are taken care of but most of all I am reassured my mum is safe and taken care of.

Over the years, several members of my family have required social care. All homes have been high quality, but pale into insignificance when compared to High Peak. Cannot speak highly enough about all the staff. They are professional, caring and are a real credit to the company. I have no hesitation in recommending High Peak to anyone requiring first class social care for a loved one.

They have a variety of meals with choice. The staff go above and beyond when it's a resident's birthday, Easter, Christmas, providing extra activities including buffet and singers, etc. Weekly entertainment - dominoes, trips out to bingo.

My father William has just spent 6 weeks in High Peak, and as a son I can't fault in any way. The staff was lovely and couldn't do enough for him. The change in himself is unreal.

I am very happy with the care of my partner, and he seems very contended and enjoying his food. The decor and surroundings of the home are great, exceptionally clean, and bright. His room is spacious and ensuite, and he has his own television. The activities are well planned, and he likes to watch even if he cannot join in everything and particularly enjoys the singing. With a bad experience with another home 7 years ago with my mum, High Peak Lodge has now changed my opinion of nursing homes for the better. *Fully funded care & not experienced activities.*

Overall, my experience of High Peak is excellent.

Dad is well cared for. The carers are very observant and notice if anything is wrong. His room is always clean and fresh. He enjoys the activities and has a good rapport with his carers. Our family have peace of mind knowing he is safe and comfortable. We enjoy our daily visits to see him and the staff.

Every time we have visited, the staff have been helpful and the room's very clean.

My dad was reluctant to go into a home, but once in, he had the best care possible. The carers gave him so much care and attention that he loved being there. I feel he's had the best quality of life he possibly could coming towards the end.

I was apprehensive about putting him into a home as we have been together and married for 62 years. His quality of life at home was not good and was very hard for me to care for him. When he went in, he was welcomed with open arms, and the care and attention they gave was outstanding. All the visitors were made welcome and also cared for. I, myself, always offered a cuppa. Fantastic place to go.

My mum has been in High Peak Lodge on a short-term placement for about the last 2 months. She had previously been in a different home that basically just left her in bed all the time for a month. Since Mum has been here, I have nothing but praise for the nurses, carers and all staff at the home. They are wonderful with her and ensure she is up, dressed and in the communal areas every day, mingling and keeping her mind active. Today was her birthday and when I visited they had planned a surprise with all the staff, singing 'Happy Birthday' to her as they took a cake with candles for her to blow out. She was overcome with emotion, it was such a thoughtful and lovely surprise. I feel so comfortable there myself whenever I visit. I know she is being well looked after and is safe and loved.

I write on behalf of our family - our mother has been in High Peak Lodge Residential & Nursing Home since December 2021. She a difficult case for staff due to family conflict. However, my mother loves her home at High Peak. She has a fantastic relationship with all staff and residents. She enjoys partaking in all activities. The staff are extremely patient, friendly and helpful. They ensure she has a balanced diet of regular visits from all her family. Staff are extremely professional and on the whole, as a family, we are extremely satisfied with all aspects. Would highly recommend.

My wife has been a resident in High Peak Lodge Residential & Nursing Home for over five years. I have never had any concerns about any aspect of her care. She has always received respect and love as we all as very good care. I do not ever remember any instances where I was concerned about her well-being.

When first visiting the home, we noticed that it felt very homely and didn't smell of anything nasty - it just smelt nice, it was clean, and the residents looked happy. They looked like they were being looked after well. All the staff go the extra mile while caring for the residents. I feel confident that my partner is being cared for, as well as I would care for him if I could.

I have been visiting my wife at High Peak Lodge for five years, and I cannot praise the staff and management enough. I am always warmly greeted, and the staff are very pleasant. The home appears to be well-run, and I am kept informed of any issues regarding my wife's condition.
