Welcome to Washington Lodge Care Home, nestled within the charming residential area of Washington Village. The purpose-built home offers a warm and inviting environment where residents receive high standards of compassionate and dignified care.

Washington Lodge specialises in providing 24-hour nursing dementia care for individuals living with dementia or related conditions, as well as nursing and residential care for older adults with diverse health needs. Each resident receives personalised care tailored to their unique needs and preferences. The qualified nursing teams work closely with residents and their families to create individualised care plans that reflect their strengths, interests, and physical and emotional abilities.

In addition to exceptional care services, the home is also proud to offer a range of enriching activities facilitated by the wonderful activities coordinator, who engages residents in activities five days a week. Residents also have the opportunity to enjoy visits from a hairdresser who comes once a week, as well as access to a chiropractor and dentist who visit the home as needed.

Furthermore, the home hosts weekly meetings with healthcare professionals from the local GP surgery, The Galleries Medical Practice, ensuring that residents receive comprehensive and coordinated care.

The talented chefs take pride in crafting delicious home-cooked meals using fresh, nutritious ingredients. They cater to diverse dietary and cultural needs, ensuring that every resident enjoys meals that suit their tastes and preferences.

The home's comfortable and well-equipped single rooms are wheelchair-friendly and feature amenities such as nurse call systems, sinks, and TV points, with some rooms offering picturesque views over the courtyard area. Mum has only been at Washington Lodge for a couple of weeks and she has settled really well. This is due to the staff who are constantly popping in and out to check on her and have a chat. I have had many questions, all of which have been answered clearly, the open door policy meant I never felt like

So far, so good! I have only been here coming up 2 weeks and am very happy with my experience so far. You can not fault the staff, they are helpful and caring, they appear quickly when I press the buzzer. Things are explained clearly regarding medication.

My MIL came into the home urgently just before Christmas 2024, the home couldn't have done more to make her feel welcome & at home. My MIL had dementia & had a couple of falls so was in an immobile state, they did try to get her mobility back but it had gone to far, they couldn't, but tried. All staff
at this home couldn't have done enough for her & she was loved by all that met her. She started to deteriorate a couple of weeks ago & they keep the three sons & her husband informed & involved all the time, when it came to near the end, the staff sat with her 24/7 so she wasn't on her own, when we went in the day before she passed. We were given time on our own with her & then the staff nurse came & told us everything that was happening & that it wouldn't be long. Then next morning we got the call & rushed to the home & she has passed peacefully in her sleep 10 mins before. The staff have done more to help her passing not be as hard & are wonderful. We all can't thank them enough.

My husband has been a resident in Washington Lodge for nearly eight years. He has been well cared for and looked after. All the staff are very friendly and caring and polite. And do a very good job in sometimes stressful situations. The food could sometimes be better but depends who is working in the
kitchen. I would recommend the home to anyone who is looking for a good care home.

All staff are friendly and welcoming.
Observed staff with multiple residents and always showed care and compassion and extended that to family members.
The care home is always clean and the food is of good quality and substantial.

Our brother moved here in September after being in hospital and we could not be happier. Downstairs suits him so much being able to see outside and use his bike in the garden with the help of the fantastic staff.

The carers are fantastic and help out a lot. Numerous staff members have come in and cared for my grandma while we have visited her and have spoken about how lovely she is. Not only do they care for the residents but they have shown a lot of compassion for my family. I appreciate absolutely everything
they have done for my grandma and would recommend this home to everyone. Me and my family really truly appreciate everything that has been done and the care that has taken place while we couldn't be there to help her.

I find the home a pleasant place with a happy atmosphere. All the staff work doe the good of the residents. My husband is very happy and contented there and keeps saying how well he is looked after. My parents have been at Washington Lodge for the past 3 years. I cannot speak highly enough about the care that they have received from the manager and team. Day and night we are absolutely confident that they are receiving the care and comfort that they need, care that responds to their individual

Staff were very helpful when I have to phone in the evening to speak to Mum, as we live a distance away and we cannot get to see Mum as much as we like to. When we came to visit today, Mum's bedroom sink was dirty with dicolour wipes in the sink and bed not made properly.

My mam is nearing the end of her life and needs nursing care. I met with one of the staff on my visit to Washington Lodge, she made me feel that we were joining a family and that my mam was would be well cared for.
I then met with the manager and was again made to feel that my mam would be cared for
with compassion she talked about what mattered to Mam, the local church and her friends, she talked about Mam still being a part of her community but with a great care team and nursing support. This fabulous leadership inspires the team to deliver the best care and compassion.
The care staff show my mum compassion and respect her dignity, in fact, her face lights up with a smile when they come to help her. The nurses are responsive to her ever-changing needs, going the extra mile to ensure she has all her medical needs met.
The catering is great, mam once said to me when she was much younger that if I have to go into a home, make sure it has good food, she does have good food.
