Welcome to Washington Lodge Care Home, nestled within the charming residential area of Washington Village. The purpose-built home offers a warm and inviting environment where residents receive high standards of compassionate and dignified care.

Washington Lodge specialises in providing 24-hour nursing dementia care for individuals living with dementia or related conditions, as well as nursing and residential care for older adults with diverse health needs. Each resident receives personalised care tailored to their unique needs and preferences. The qualified nursing teams work closely with residents and their families to create individualised care plans that reflect their strengths, interests, and physical and emotional abilities.

In addition to exceptional care services, the home is also proud to offer a range of enriching activities facilitated by the wonderful activities coordinator, who engages residents in activities five days a week. Residents also have the opportunity to enjoy visits from a hairdresser who comes once a week, as well as access to a chiropractor and dentist who visit the home as needed.

Furthermore, the home hosts weekly meetings with healthcare professionals from the local GP surgery, The Galleries Medical Practice, ensuring that residents receive comprehensive and coordinated care.

The talented chefs take pride in crafting delicious home-cooked meals using fresh, nutritious ingredients. They cater to diverse dietary and cultural needs, ensuring that every resident enjoys meals that suit their tastes and preferences.

The home's comfortable and well-equipped single rooms are wheelchair-friendly and feature amenities such as nurse call systems, sinks, and TV points, with some rooms offering picturesque views over the courtyard area. We do not charge a top up fee at washington lodge nursing home. We have nurses on site 24 hours a day.

In my opinion, since late 2021 I have witnessed a significant improvement in the condition of the home. As an example, it has been redecorated and now has new furniture etc and it has been done to a very high standard. In my opinion, all of the staff are committed, professional and warm and welcoming
to visitors.
My father who is a resident and suffers from dementia is cared for to a very high standard and more importantly to me is treated with dignity and respect.

I was pleased to see that there was an exercise class to music going on for residents. Sitting exercises are wonderful for all residents, and most of them joined in. I tried to encourage my mam to join in, but she has Alzheimer's and is in a wheelchair, so limited to what she can do. Anyway, everyone
took part in some way, either by singing along with the music or actually doing the exercises. Judging by the look on their faces and their singing, I can only assume it was beneficial for them.

I am happy with the staff and the help that they give to keep people safe as my husband is very strong and they are a good team so he trusts them a lot. They do the best they can for him and he is happy there.

My husband has been a resident at Washington Lodge for just over 4 months and I am extremely happy with the care that he receives there. All of the staff are very friendly and caring and treat the residents with both respect and affection. There is a warm atmosphere which is really nice to see and
nothing is too much trouble. I am very grateful to all the staff for their kindness and support. It's a huge relief to see my husband happy and settled and know he is being well looked after.

My mam has been in Washington Lodge since 2013, during which the home has changed hands a number of times and had a number of managers.
The current manager is running this home exceptionally well. She is brilliant with communication. Always is accessible and will do anything she can to help.
The
staff in the home are attentive and during Covid clearly followed guidelines as Mam did not contract Covid which is a pure credit to them.
The home is always clean and Mam is in a new room, freshly decorated which is spacious and airy.

My parents both moved into the home together. On the first day, Mam had a fall and immediately the staff suggested hospital treatment. She was kept in for 4 weeks, confirming their prompt attention was correct. Dad is very happy with the care he recieves. Last night we had a celebration party at our
house (only 200 meters away) and the staff persuaded him to join us. To top it all, they even pushed him around. Above and beyond the call of duty.

My husband has lived at Washington Lodge Nursing Home for three and a half years. Initially, I was very reluctant to have him in any nursing home as his condition is very rare and challenging, however, the nurses and carers have exceeded all of my expectations. They show genuine affection for him, which
I see every day. I know he is being cared for very well and this is of great comfort to me and all of his family. I am always informed of any changes in his condition, which are dealt with promptly and efficiently. Myself and my family cannot thank them enough for all they do for him.

My Nanna has been a resident at Washington Lodge Nursing Home for a year and a half now. She loves every single member of staff due to the care they show towards her. They know her routine, what she likes and what she doesn't like. Not only do the staff get to know the resident but they also take the
time to get to know the family of the resident. Every time you visit they keep you up to date with how your family member is doing and what activities they've taken part in.

My husband has been in Washington Lodge for nearly three years having been unsettled in two previous care homes. Everyone is extremely friendly and dedicated to caring for all his needs in challenging situations. The new manager has implemented changes in all areas of the home for the benefit of residents,
relatives and staff. I am very grateful to all the staff for looking after him as I appreciate that caring for dementia patients can be demanding.

My dad was transferred from the hospital, after having a stroke, to Washington Lodge, he has only been in several weeks, but all of the staff are friendly and most obliging and responsive to questions.
The care so far has been great and feels like a nice place for my dad to be in.
The food he gets
seems very good quality and eats it even though he’s fussy when it comes to his food.
It is a very hard choice when selecting a care home for your loved one, Washington Lodge is a great place and I’d have no worries advising anyone to select this for their loved one.
The only thing is rooms don’t have ensuite toilets, but this isn’t a big thing as there are numerous toilets around.

The overall experience in Washington Lodge Nursing Home in my eyes is a very good nursing home. The staff are very, very good. They treat my dad with the best care, the rooms are very nice and you can put your own TV in there etc. So, overall, the staff, management and rooms are 10/10.

I am absolutely delighted with Mam's care at Washington Lodge. The staff are so caring and friendly and Mam looks really well and is happy. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home. Very handy for the village too.

My grandad has been in Washington Lodge Nursing Home for a number of years now. Prior to entering the home, he was in and out of hospital as he had struggled to care for himself however since entering Washington Lodge, he has remained well, including during Covid-19 which is fantastic. Staff have a
great rapport with him which is great to see, they are always helpful, kind and remain in contact with us about his care, health and wellbeing. His care plan continues to be monitored and the care he receives is adjusted to his needs as and when required.

My Dad has been at the Home with Dementia for about 18 months now and has been well looked after. The staff I have met, have been caring and lay on activities for residents, which I think is important. Although it is not possible at the moment with the problems with Covid 19, I would, however, like
