Welcome to Washington Lodge Care Home, nestled within the charming residential area of Washington Village. The purpose-built home offers a warm and inviting environment where residents receive high standards of compassionate and dignified care.

Washington Lodge specialises in providing 24-hour nursing dementia care for individuals living with dementia or related conditions, as well as nursing and residential care for older adults with diverse health needs. Each resident receives personalised care tailored to their unique needs and preferences. The qualified nursing teams work closely with residents and their families to create individualised care plans that reflect their strengths, interests, and physical and emotional abilities.

In addition to exceptional care services, the home is also proud to offer a range of enriching activities facilitated by the wonderful activities coordinator, who engages residents in activities five days a week. Residents also have the opportunity to enjoy visits from a hairdresser who comes once a week, as well as access to a chiropractor and dentist who visit the home as needed.

Furthermore, the home hosts weekly meetings with healthcare professionals from the local GP surgery, The Galleries Medical Practice, ensuring that residents receive comprehensive and coordinated care.

The talented chefs take pride in crafting delicious home-cooked meals using fresh, nutritious ingredients. They cater to diverse dietary and cultural needs, ensuring that every resident enjoys meals that suit their tastes and preferences.

The home's comfortable and well-equipped single rooms are wheelchair-friendly and feature amenities such as nurse call systems, sinks, and TV points, with some rooms offering picturesque views over the courtyard area. Residents can also relax in the choice of lounge areas, featuring specially designed furnishings for comfort and relaxation.

We do not charge a top up fee at washington lodge nursing home. We have nurses on site 24 hours a day.

What can I say four years ago we handed my beloved father over to the care of Washington Lodge staff, little did we know a global pandemic would follow and we would rely on the staff to keep my dad safe. They did but not only that, they cared for him, respected him and showed love for him. During his
dying days staff came in to see him. They shared their experiences of being with him and how he spent his life at the home. Today we said goodbye to Dad and their staff also said goodbye. A sense of them being family came to mind. The quality of a care home to me is about the quality of the staff. Washington Lodge has some incredible staff and this is the reason for my high rating from office to kitchen to nurses to carers and now manager.

Management and staff are very good with me and my wife has been well looked after and assist with meals. The meals are good and the rooms are kept clean. I do not think the staff could do much more to assist my wife's stay.

I have found the nursing staff at the home very caring and supportive of my husband over the past 8 months. I know that I can ask them anything that concerns me and they come and explain everything (I find that very comforting, that his needs come first). Each visit I make (4 times a week) how friendly
they are and if I need to chat they also put themselves out to say hello and ask about how I am doing (sometimes things get me down because people ask about my husband but don't bother asking about me). All around a great team of carers!

Since being a resident in Washington Lodge, my mum has improved in every way you can imagine. The staff are amazing. They truly care about their residents and it shows in everything they do.
The work they have done has given my mum her dignity back. Her confidence has grown and she is able to communicate
again. It is amazing to have my mum back again, with all her personality!
Before coming to Washington Lodge, she had just about given up on life and was asking to be allowed to die. To see her happy and comfortable is fantastic.

My husband has been in Washington Lodge for over a year. He was quite poorly at first but because of the care and attention he gets he is much improved. The staff and management are all so dedicated to the residents with their caring and friendliness that I am sure my husband is in the best nursing
home, which is a great relief to me as I am unable to care for him at home and I want the first class care Washington Lodge provides for people in their care.

Exceptional and compassionate care. The team at Washington Lodge Nursing Home cannot do enough for my mother. My brother was admitted in December 2022 and passed away peacefully in April 2023. I can't praise the manager and staff enough, they took good care of him and if we needed anything or had any problems regarding him we only had to ask and it was sorted.

What can I say - this nursing home has cared for my mam in an exceptional manner. All staff genuinely love my mam.
The care given is second to none. I feel privileged to be part of this community who, in spite of COVID, manage under incredibly difficult circumstances - give them a pay rise and holiday

My mum was admitted to Washington Lodge when she was terminally ill and was only a resident for a couple of weeks. It was one of the best decisions our family made. From the very first moment they welcomed her in and she was treated with the utmost care, attention and kindness. As were the rest of us.
Every single member of staff was absolutely amazing and we really could not have found a better place for my mum's last days. She received respect, dignity and love for the full time she stayed with them. Everyone there supported the family through such a difficult and heartbreaking time. We will always be truly grateful for everything.

I have lost my wonderful husband to Alzheimer's for a long period of time now; however, the thought of him not being with me in order to be reassured he was loved was a dread. From the first encounter with people from his now home, I felt a weight lifted from my very tired shoulders. I have always been
able to communicate my feelings, be it concerns re his care, and have always been given their time to listen and move forward. The staff are kind and patient, and believe me, given some of my husband's episodes, I have to commend them in that department. I cannot speak highly enough of the manager; she is, without a doubt, someone you wish every care home looking after your loved ones were lucky to have in charge. If you have to let go of caring for a loved one, I would say you should certainly consider this home.

Mam is well looked after here as is all the family when we visit. She has settled in well since April 2022.

Staff at Washington Lodge Nursing Home are very helpful and caring at all times and I feel very comfortable approaching them with any problems. My ex husband has been there five years now and had some very difficult days but with the care and support from the carers has made great improvement in his
mental health and general well being.
I am his only visitor really so the staff are also like friends to him.

My mother has been a resident at Washington Lodge for two years now, in that time management has changed and I must say there has been huge improvements. They have done a very good job keeping residents safe and cared for during a very difficult time due to Covid. Mam is very happy and settled there.

My mum had been a resident at Washington Lodge for 4 years and passed away at the home in September 2022. Each time I visited I felt so supported by all the staff and feel blessed that Mum was able to live in such caring surroundings.
If someone asked me if I regretted Mum being there, I would say
no, because she felt like this was her home and loved it there.
Is there anything I would change about the home or the staff? Again, no. Everyone has been amazing throughout Mum's stay, from the manager (who went above and beyond what was expected of her when Mum was receiving her end-of-life care) to each and every member of staff. Day team, night team, kitchen staff, admin...honestly, I cannot thank them enough for the love and support they gave both Mum and me. They made a huge difference in such a sad time and I will always be grateful to them and recommend them to everyone who is looking for a placement for someone they love.
